  3. Artist: Various Title: Goamystica Vol. 1 Label: Mystic Sound Records Date: April, 2015 01. Maiia303 - Great Spirit 02. Imba & Jagoa - Unidentified Flying Spores 03. Space Elves - Trance India Express 04. Fiery Dawn - Feelings 05. OXI vs Ancient Vision - Balkania 06. Afgin - Nothing Is Over (John Rambo) 07. Jikooha - Going Forward 08. Somnesia - The Flight Of Horus 09. Cactus Arising - Changes 10. Khetzal - Damocles 11. Main Sequence Star - Low Earth Orbit Mystic Sound Records is a label founded by Alla Vagner (Maiia303) and Edward Cybered and their goal is to release music from across the psychedelic spectrum be it trance, downtempo, or psychill. This is a digital release (which is a shame cause that cover art is mindblowing!) and it sports quite the impressive track list. And let me tell you it is a solid compilation with a fair amount of superb tracks as well as good ones. Maiia303 fresh off her album Sky In Diamonds and EP release Sleepless in Anjuna absolutely wrecks the box with a stormer that I had trouble getting past. Just kept hitting repeat. Imba & Jagoa as well as Fiery Dawn rattle a few windows with some massive sound. Afgin's back and his Rambo track made me smile cause I grew up on Rambo and I have a nice smile. Hide your girlfriends! Jikooha does what Jikooha does and wraps the listener up in a time sucking vortex of twirling that was over far too soon. The second half was pure madness! The only one I didn't care for was the Space Elves track with it's annoying repetition. Just didn't sit well with me. However the biggest disappointment on the compilation was from Khetzal. It's a good track, but when I think of Khetzal I think of Corelle and this wasn't close to that awesome bliss. Nice work and thanks to a friend for putting me on to this album, he knows who he is. Here's to hoping one day we can get a physical release outta this. Oh and by the way...I think I'm in love with Maiia303... Mystic Sound Records Bandcamp

  5. Artist: Filipe Santos Title: Goa - The New Generation Label: Submoon Records Date: August, 2015 1. Psydonym - Venusians 2. Beast303 - Beast 303 3. Liquid Jungle - High Toxicity 4. Mind Reset - Parasite Eve 5. Resistrance - Hypnolab 9 6. Sylica-X - Re-Search 7. Kunai - Ascendancy 8. Rainbow Islands - Sevens Heavens In an effort to be enshrined into the Guinness Book of World Records as the artist with the most aliases Filipe Santos returns to the goa scene and promptly reclaims territory. Kinda. All of these projects are Filipe so don't try to infringe on his copyrights. I know this because it says so on the inside cover. What I don't know is if these tracks are part of the "new" generation. And can it be a new generation when it's just one guy? Several (Beast303 - 2010, High Toxicity -2011, Re-Search -2012) have been released before when Filipe ran the acid/goa label Acid Chemical Plant Records. Although to be accurate and give Imba a shoutout, the Beast303 EP was released on Underground Alien Factory. We clear? So it's unknown whether he made these tracks awhile ago and just left them on the old hard drive. What is known is that the style of Filipe is well represented with driving rhythms and layers of those delicious goa sounds. As expected he incorporates the acid in several of the tracks, but they all have ripping leads and that attitude that the creator must carry with him. Love him, hate him, ignore him, acknowledge him, this guy is prolific and prolific with consistent quality. Some of the greatest artists of our time have also been the most troubled. Allow me to make an assumption based solely on an avatar. Perhaps Filipe has found inspiration and focus with his wife/girlfriend and new baby. All the other nonsense (justified or not) is background noise. Right now he is making some big boy noise. And this isn't even the best of his most recent output. Stay tuned.
  6. Artist: Amithaba Buddha Title: Goa Gate Remastered Label: Submoon Records Date: September, 2015 1. Goa Gate 2. Sarcophagus 3. Three Eyes 4. Secret of an Amulet 5. Sending Love and Light 6. Transphinx 7. Organic Humanoids 2 8. Water Goddess 9. Guardian of the Gate Two games into the NFL season and my team has taken on this identity. As a reviewer I have to absorb the music and its presentation without judgement or prejudice. Sometimes it's hard to do. I have internet friends who send me copies of their work and ask me to review it. It's great until I listen to it and it turns out to be a dumpster fire. But I write them for two reasons. One I enjoy doing it and two if I can shed some light on a release that you may not have been aware of. If the review is funny and you get a chuckle then everybody wins. Amithaba Buddha is one of the many projects of Filipe Santos and this is someone who has a history with Psynews. Not all of it pleasant. So what I decided to do was to list the reasons why you wouldn't like this and then supply a counter argument of why you might want to give it a chance. "It's Filipe. He says mean things, is schizophrenic, and is probably on drugs." Really? Maybe, but people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. I'm far from perfect and have done and said some things that I'm not proud of. We've all done that. However, this is about the music. Remove all other distractions and focus on the music. Kanye West seems like a dick, but I was rocking Gold Digger just like everyone else. "It's a CD-R. In a few years it's gonna melt and not be worth what I paid for it." One, I don't know if that is actually true. Two, the original Goa Gate was made 7 years ago and that CD-R is fine. Besides most of us rip that sh*t to a computer anyway. "It's basically the same track and sounds repeated nine times." I disagree, but at least I can understand this complaint. The album does follow a similar vein, but that vein is power and multiple layers of twirling goa goodness. It does get samey, but it's so good! The sound is rich with melodies that crawl from deep hiding places to take their rightful place in the sun. I find it impossible to listen to this and not dance like nobody is watching. Which is untrue cause my kids are always watching and then they tell Mommy and everyone has a good laugh at my expense. Ha f*cking ha. My point is this...love him or hate him you cannot deny his talent. I don't know him and unless you've been sitting next to him for the last 10 years you don't either. I don't deny his behavior has been perplexing and mean spirited at times on the forum. I don't begin to understand it and I damn sure ain't excusing it. Hell some artists might need that conflict and turmoil to make their art. But like I said in the beginning you have to listen to the music with blinders on. Filipe has been at this a long time and I would venture to say that if you didn't know who the artist was and looked at his catalog of work you wouldn't hesitate to put him up there with the greats of all time. This album is everything you could ask for and I am pleased that I have my copy. The fact I'm not getting extorted by the Discogs mafia is just a bonus. Goa Gate? Two thumbs way f*cking up. 8. Artist: Various Title: Astronot Label: Goalogique Records Date: September, 2013 1. Minomar - Dancing Universe 2. Trinodia - Top Secret (Mix 2013) 3. Carbon - Dandelion Fx 4. Somnesia - In Search of Our Origin (Live Mix) 5. Jennis - Hollow Grams 6. Visual Brain - I Have a Riddle To Solve 7. Laboratory X - Light and Dark 8. OGO - Goastronaut I've got some good news and some bad news. The good news is the artwork for the 2nd compilation from Goalogique is a little better than the horrendous effort of their debut Up To Next Step. Bad news? Pictures don't talk. And I don't mean in a "that painting really speaks to me" kinda way. Yes pictures speak volumes in their own language, but they sound pretty damn quiet in my headphones. This compilation is either a step backwards or a kid learning to drive by grinding the gears of Dad's Subaru. Whatever you call it, it ain't going forward. Hold this up to other goa trance compilations and that game will be over very quickly. There were good moments in some tracks, but they either didn't last very long or were replaced by some weaker content. Power and lush atmosphere are absent from the tracks as they sound rather amateurish. Even Trinodia and Somnesia (who was on the first compilation) can't save this although they had the best tracks. There is no depth, no stories being told, and ultimately no reason for me to care about most of these tracks. When money is tight you've gotta pick your purchases carefully. And this CD doesn't make me want to spend $12.50 at Psyshop before shipping. Sorry, but strike two Goalogique. Beatspace Psyshop Mdk
  9. It's been a while since my last mix, so I decided to throw a fresh one and present to you some of the upcoming material which will be published in the future on Neogoa Records. Winter Hexagon is a one hour-long selection of my personal favorites and it represents a true journey into diverse soundscapes of Neogoa, ranging from deep, spiritual and mythical atmospheres towards more melodic Goa trance music, filled with pure positive energy. I hope you will like this one and have a good time Below you can find artwork with tracklist and link to Soundcloud where you can stream the complete mix, or just download it for free. https://soundcloud.com/neogoarecords/richpa-winter-hexagon

  11. It’s been 4 years since the last Goasia album ‘Dancing With The Blue Spirit’ was released on Kagdila Records, okay, three if we count the re-release at Dimensional Records. Since than, many Goasia fans had huge expectance for a new record due to the fact that they were able to raise the bar with ‘Dancing With The Blue Spirit’ album. For all people who might be living under rock in last couple of years, Goasia is project between Balint Tihamer & Vladislav Radulovic, releasing melodic Goa trance music for a long time. God, Good Morning Amphibians On Spacedock The New Orient Mental Mutator Dolphins Of Jupiter Promised Land Sundance Orbital Saturation Tetrodotoxin When I received my promotional copy of a new album entitled ‘Amphibians OnSpacedock’ released couple of days ago under Suntrip Records banner, I stated that I feel the the relation between last and this album is like relationship between Terminator and Terminator 2. For sure ‘Amphibians On Spacedock’ can be seen as an upgraded version of it’s predecessor, especially because the formula of a great Goa trance record is present on this one, and the key factors suchas: great production, the sense for storytelling and being able to create memorable moments/tracks can be found on AOS. I don’t want to spoil the fun with this review by analysing and reviewing each track, since many people are awaiting their copies to arrive and to check it in person, but for all people who might be afraid that some things gonna miss here I have to say – you’re wrong. Remember the great morning anthems from the last record such as Terra Incognita’ or ‘Dancing With The Blue Spirit’, on this one the very first track, opener – ‘God, Good Morning’ is in the same league with thoose two tracks, and after hearing it almost on daily basisi in last two weeks, it’s getting even better. Tracks such as ‘Amphibians On Spacedock’, ‘Dolphins Of Jupiter’ and ‘Orbital Saturation’ are the best example of the upgraded sound. The trademark Goasia vibe and feeling is still there but it’s enriched with new interesting and psychedelic sounds and blended perfectly so that you in the end got that feeling that you’re listening to a new record. One great positive shocker on this album was the last track entitled ‘Tetrodotoxin’ which is a representation of more experimental Goasia sound, a less melodic track with nice driving beats and retro-Goa feeling. As I mentioned earlier this album got all the key ingredients and one of them is the sense for storytelling and flow. The only thing that I see as a negative factor on this album is ‘Sundance’ track, which is a great track already released earlier, but the sound is kinda out of the foucs compared to the rest of the album and it feels like it doesn’t belong here, but hey, it’s a great track and I’m sure guys from Goasia wanted to have this one on their new album. Conclusion – Amphibians On Spacedock proved the fact why it’s been one of the most anticipated Goa trance releases in last two years and people who are into melodic Goa trance music should have this album in their collection because it represents the new era of Goasia production. I feel that the most memorable moments on this one were tracks such as ‘Orbital Saturation’, ‘God, Good Morning’, ‘Tetrodotoxin’ and ‘Dolphins/Amphibians’ combo. Goasia demonstrated once more why they’re one of the few who are on the top of the Goa trance pyramid nowdays and without any doubt, with the new record they will gain even more attention from people who might not heard about their work. Let’s not forget that Goasia duo is one of the few who proved that music got no limits, and their work-routine is the best showcase, Kanc (who is living in Croatia) and Balint (who is living in Serbia) are successfully producing music even they’re hounderd of kilometers away from each other. In the end I have to say that mastering of the album is flawless thanks to Tim Schuldt who made a beautiful job. Amphibians On Spacedock gets 8,5 glasses of rakija (out of 10) Review by Richpa (iparic70@gmail.com) http://www.facebook.com/ohitsrichpa Buy this album at Suntrip webshop: http://www.suntriprecords.com/release/cat/SUNCD33/ Like Goasia on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/goasiamusic

  13. Artist: Various Title: TIP Records Goa Classics 1 Label: TIP Records Date: September, 2010 1. The Infinity Project - The Law 2. The Overlords - Sundown (Ionizer Remix) 3. Voodoo People - Drop The Bomb 4. Voodoof - Thru 5. The Infinity Project - Feeling Very Weird 6. Total Eclipse - Waiting For A New Life 7. Doof - Mars Needs Women 8. E-Rection - Out Here We Are Stoned (X-Dream Remix) 9. Green Nuns of the Revolution - Conflict 10. X-Dream - Panic In Paradise "If I could just discover one of these things...I wouldn't care if they did think I was crazy!" Ah, seeing all these classic tracks is like putting on an old, comfortable shoe. Whenever you see pale face you know your about to be treated to quality. The tracklist says 10, but 1 and 3 add nothing to the glory days of TIP Records, so realistically you've got 8 tracks to carry you down memory lane. The tracks are re mastered and I'll tell you the Ionizer remix of Sundown benefits the most with sounds that are so crisp and clear like a mountain stream. You can hear everything. Thru has an eerie slink that also sounds super clear. As good as the last track was we are now knee deep in classic town. These next goa standards have stood the test of time and should be on most goa head's short list of super tracks. Now here's the rub. These tracks are so superb and so well known that I would be stunned if you didn't already have them, thereby calling into question whether or not this is actually essential. As mentioned the tracks have been remastered so that might push you towards purchasing it. I did and for a nice price you have all these beauties in one place. Psyshop
  14. Artist: Various Title: Gamayun Tale Label: Lookinglook Records Date: 2014 1. Celestial Consciousness - Rise 2. Magic Science - Atman 3. PharaOm - White Lotus Energy 4. Nova Fractal - Through Our Senses (Sky Technology Remix) 5. Roof Raiser - Stone Garden 6. Prok - Gliese 7. Ufomatka - Asteroid 8. Wanderlust - Square of the Cardboard Clocks 9. Shizolizer Gin - Skygravity Trance Mission 10. Jyotish - Purple Imagination Bonus Track: Rexuss - Chakra Gamayun is a prophetic bird that signifies wisdom and knowledge in Slavic folklore. The title speaks of mysticism, but the cover art screams "Check out this vagina!" And I'm cool with that. I like vaginas Just like Spacedock Lookinglook is one of those outlier labels that doesn't release a lot, but still demands attention. Probably most famous for their first release Dancing Mavka, their latest compilation was put together by Sky Technology. According to Discogs the CD is being distributed by Saikosounds. Yes that one. Didn't they go outta business? Anyway what a screamer this is. The melodies can be long and twisting backed up with power to drive the point home. The leads growl and grow in intensity sucking you in like a tornado. Track after track of unrelenting melodic goa madness and mostly from lesser known artists. That's great news as you always need to stock the farm system with new and promising talent. Never know when one of these guys is gonna leave the scene. *Wipes tear from eye as Lonely Man Theme plays for PharaOm* Artists like Roof Raiser (ugh, that name) who drops a constantly evolving bomb or Magic Science whose track bristles with cactus like spineage. The majority of the album is of the dark sort that goa heads will lap up, but a track by Prok is really deliciously acidic. Think Kiriyama with some Psy-H Project. The more well known guys put in some work also like PharaOm and UFOmatka. His track should end with sound of a dropping microphone. There are some dimmer areas of course, but definitely not deal breakers Sky Technology's remix felt a bit mess like a bull in a china shop and the lead by Wanderlust on Square of the Cardboard Clock (cool title) annoyed me like a paper cut. Actually after Asteroid the darkness seemed to dissipate until Jyotish closed things out with a track that attempted to reclaim some of that back. The biggest gripe I have is why the hell is the bonus track not available for those that want to purchase the CD? Doesn't make sense. Do you not want to move any product? As a label wouldn't you like to sell CDs? Please tell me if I'm missing the point. So as I've said before 2014 has been a great year for goa with some of the labels with a lesser presence delivering some storming music. This is one of those albums and I recommend you give it a listen. Beatspace Psyshop Bandcamp Digital Purchase Mdk

Travma - Shaolin's (6:05) Goa Galaxy is a Bulgarian netlabel which has been releasing a few digital compilations and EPs over the years. I suppose the best way you could describe them would be as a giant steaming bowl of Stellar Discovery followed it's older brother Galactic Discovery in more than just album covers. Some of the tracks are good, some ok, and clearly some were the result of incriminating photos. None made me want to dance, but that could be because I'm lazy. Something is missing from the tracks, some sort of dynamism that encourages repeated listens. The tracks themselves are a notch below those of the established labels and none of them evoked any kind of emotion from me. Whether that's due to the production, mastering, or the financial collapse in Greece I couldn't tell you, but it's easy to hear. So with this new release Goa Galaxy continued to fill the bowl with more mediocrity. Give me the Proxeeus, Nash Mafia Blues, and Jagoa tracks and I'm outta here. Goa Galaxy Free Download

  22. Artist: Trans-Lucid Title: Dream Dust Label: Aquarius Date: February, 1997 1. Funkee People 2. Burning Dancefloor 3. A Fistfull of Blotters 4. Web Juice 5. Detroit One 6. Eye Time 7. Invaders 8. Square Trance 9. Ram It In Skeptical dog is not amused. I recall a statement made on this forum a long while ago by someone saying that there were no undiscovered gems from the golden age of goa. Because I missed it the first time around, I didn't pay much attention and kept turning over every rock in the hopes of finding that shiny diamond to add to my collection. This is not a diamond. More of a...rock that was left over from Charlie Brown's Halloween. It lacks complexity that one would find in say an Etnica or BPC, but that's ok because there is a reason those acts are some of the greatest of all time. This has more of a minimal vibe with goa trance elements thrown in. Their debut self-titled album was a chore to get through (think of cleaning the toilets of Taco Bell for eternity), but the one thing I will say is that the production here is much improved. The kick has punch and the bass work is nice and plucky, but the tracks on a whole don't have much staying power. I liked Detroit One with it's fat bass and electro style, but that was really it. "I got Etnica!" "Me too!" "I got Dimension 5! What'd you get Charlie Brown?" "I got Trans-Lucid's 2nd album." "Man that sucks...you should throw that sh*t back. And then cut up his family and burn the house down." And thus began a string of serial killings that everyone saw coming, but did nothing to stop. Cause that b*tch Lucy had it coming. Funny. I've never actually seen a football shoved up someone's rectum. Horrifying.
  23. Processing to our next catalogue release, Infinity-Tunes is proud to present you the new first debut Ep from G.O.A Monks! Forget about stereotyped formatted boring psytrance, forget about the repetitiveness, G.O.A Monks has the truly melodic blasting sound we all loved back from the golden years! Alexander Skembris aka 'G.O.A Monks', also well known from his solo project 'Dolby Caramel', is a young producer from Corfu / Greece. With this project, Alexander tries to keep the true spirit of psychedelic trance by having lots of melodies and tricky sound-layers. With his new Ep called 'Future Breeze' he delivers two previously unreleased uplifting trance tracks with hard kicks, deep pushing basslines, transformed synths, combined fx and of course melodic climaxes that will blow your body and mind! Alexander has been strongly influenced by the sound of 90's and the projects that took place during the years 1994-2001. If you are searching for old school goa tracks and great dancefloor bombs, mixed with new wave atmosphere and industrial beats, then this release is here to keep you satisfied! Don't miss this Goa-Classic Ep! https://pro.beatport.com/release/future-breeze/1563837

  25. Artist: Various Title: Moon Ritual Label: Amakusa Records Date: October, 2014 1. RA - Azure Child 2. Chi-A.D. - Transition 3. Dimension 5 - Transformation (Taiwan Remix) 4. Hunab Ku - Sun In My Hands 5. RA - Spiritual Odyssey 6. Dimension 5 - Fundamental Hippie 7. Chi-A.D. - Exit Eternity 8. Electron Wave - Temporal Distortion 9. Hunab Ku - Children of the Stones "Nobody had a bad trip...it was all good." Not for her. Ok let's be honest...that's a hideous cover. It is. But don't let that visual dissuade you from exploring the beautiful goa trance found within. Seems today that all the labels have finally figured out what we knew a long time ago. Old is gold. And like dirty south rappers grill, there's gold in here. So here comes Amakusa records with a collection of tracks that were either unreleased or only available on vinyl. So what the f*ck is Exit Eternity doing there? Bah, no matter. Beginning with the floating Azure Child from RA it sets the tone with smooth layers. The Chi-A.D. track was at first a bit of a head scratcher. Why bring the mood down? It's a slow builder, but has a sinister chopped lead before it goes all cosmic. Interesting to say the least. The next three tracks are melodic stompers to be sure and I would expect nothing less from Dimension 5, Hunab Ku, and RA. They got a whole Etnica/Pleaidians thing going on as it's the same bunch of guys. Fundamental Hippie had me until it brought in that guitar crunch. Still pretty good. I'm not going to discuss Exit Eternity because it's a classic and we all know it's a boatload of awesome. Electron Wave is yet another side project of these same guys and it's also not bad. The final track is a bit too commercial or full-on for me. I can listen to it, but it's not like I would actively search it out. I was gonna just skip this album, but everyone started talking about how great it is and I"m a sucker for peer pressure. The last time I ignored the crowd I missed out on Mind Rewind so I'm not about to let that happen again. It's a good collection of tracks that like I said were unreleased or hard to find. I know Suntrip was carrying this for a while, but then that stopped. I think I got my copy off Discogs. I didn't see any there the last time I checked, but here's a link to their Facebook page. Mdk
