@Parasphere well i dont think it really matters what synth it was, any sound can be recreated in basically any other synth. look forward to the print screen, and i intend to make it in retrologue.

@Parasphere very cool sounds. how did you make the lead at 0:54 ? sound just like the trancespotter lead. the squareish bassline is nice and reminds me alot of MFG - peaceful relaxation. in fact i think its even the same key and very similar pattern. those octave jumps are delicious. only thing i dont quite feel is the kick but thats subjective. the watery "snare", aswell as the hihats, are also on point. impressive stuff.

the quality of the music seems pretty high tbh, checked a few tracks out on bandcamp. but a bit better name for the album perhaps wouldnt hurt, the fact that it starts with "DarkPsy" seems a bit too generic.

yup i realise that. so just as i encouraged you to do, go back, and keep experimenting. Music making takes decades if one is learning from scratch. @MikroMakroconstructive criticism is great when there is a good foundation, or at least some redeeming qualites. Yes, ones first tracks are usually horrible, best to keep them off the internet or maybe send to some friends at the most. If my opinion rubs people the wrong way that is of course no problem, Im sure theres many here who dont agree with me at all.

Not sure what people are hearing but it sounds really awful on my end. Pretty much everything is bad. I'd recommend you go back, don't post anything for 2 years, and try again then. But society these days is that Everything is great, Everyone is accepted, There are 5437 genders etc. But maybe it's me! Maybe my speaker setup is bad and I can't tell good from bad.

no negativity! and i dont care what it was made with either. if you read what i said it would be clear. Software can and do sound amazing. Its not about that at all. Its about it sounding worse than previous releases.

@Tsotsiyep you're on to something there! I think what you are describing is the same thing that bothers me. Too polished, too clean and upfront. That said Im far from an old school fanatic either, I just want good sound quality, and to at least not sound worse than before. Astral went that path with some new tracks, filteria did with his latest lp, artifact303 did with his latest, etc. It just annoys me that they know how to make the sound feel genuine and organic and also high quality, yet they "choose" to go backwards. Artifacts first album to my knowledge is software, but sounds great with tons of depth and quality... And it's not about hw vs sw at all, sw can and do sound great you just have to think outside the box a bit more with the production and mixing to make it feel authentic and organic, which you kinda get "free" with hw. Anyway not gonna start a whole debate here. And it's just my opinion

I listened to it but it was bad so didn't merit a reply 😋 Sounds nothing like hallucinogen. Sure, the music does but the sound is plastic fantastic. Horrible kickdrum and that damn software sound.. Tbh it hurts my feelings personally whenever I see an old favorite move from the hardware stuff into software, and thinking it sounds good enough. There are many ways of making software sound just as good as hardware but they don't know how to do it, it seems. Or they just don't hear the difference. Or they do but they don't care. Not sure what it is tbh.

It doesn't really sound like astral, especially not for 2003. It has a more amateurish sound imho compared to them. Especially the main lead towards the end seems a bit simple.. A slow lfo modulating cutoff on a pwm lead sound wasn't really their style in 2003, just seems a bit basic for ap! And at that time they had a very advanced sound (amen). It fits more with their 1996 style but I really doubt it's astral. Looking forward to seeing who it may be, cause its a pretty nice track. Edit: and since the sound quality of the clip is very low it's even harder to really hear if its an ap mix or another artist

Nice. Seba is probably my favorite. Netsky very close in terms of production quality, I just cannot get tired of secret agent. You seem to like a bit more hard and darker style, meanwhile I like it a bit more light and melodic. In any case there's plenty to go around. It's my favorite genre besides goa trance. In fact they are very similar in alot of ways. Transcendental feelings, levitation, elevation, euphoria and high production quality. It comes from the same part of the brain
