  1. I just found out about this release (by seeing the review thread). I downloaded something free from the net and don't think mastering is so bad. It sounds very oldschool, musically and also soundwise but its not distorted or superloud. Kind of like early, unmastered Lost Buddha stuff, good melodies but flat sound.
  2. I like the album, especially because it has, like other neogoa releases, modern psy sound and beat more in the foreground... some more stuff like that and i can make a new-newschool goa set
  3. I like the last track, The Prayer. It has a very promising style, modern and psyish beat and sound but the original, spiritual vibe is also very strong. We need more of this!!
  4. Normal Goatrance compilation means for me its like the other ones released, like VA Goa Trance Revolution, or Dimensional Gateway 3. Maybe if you compare only to other Suntrip compilations like Shaltu it becomes more special...
  5. After reading the reviews and the huge thread in the promotional section i listened to this compilation, but i don't get the hype. For me its like a normal Goatrance compilation, i can't see whats so special about it...
  6. Great video.. the part that describes the Austrian scene best is the part with the ostriches and the disco background. It fits so well its disturbing.
  7. I must disagree with the last part of this posting. I never sold any Phototropic CD for less than 5€ to any shop. There are less takers but still it works, especially when i let them know that Phototropic CDs will never become any cheaper.
  8. Some delays apparently: new release date: 6th May
  9. I cannot say things with Goatrance parties in Austria look good. I consider the Phototropic label party, at least as a party series, as failed. It seems a party like this cannot exist in a scene where progressive house is considered "Goa" and real Goa is mostly unknown. Too much people that don't fit will show up at Newschool parties, and the interested ones cannot be reached because they don't even expect real Goatrance parties exist at all.
  10. I already thought that this would come. 1. The fight with psyshop over intra-sales prices showed they were under pressure. 2. Decreasing CD sales. 3. Partnership with the weird people of wirikuta
  11. I am starting to think maybe the whole giving-another-chance and looking-away thing when it comes to his behaviour that went on for years just made him feel invulnerable and that his behaviour is accepted. Anyway, like he said, the 2nd Pandemonium CD will be his last album on Phototropic, there is still Lost Buddha - Regeneration planned for VA Artificial Sun 2, but no newer tracks are planned for release.
  12. There was a time when he would actually listen to me. That was a very productive time (Amithaba albums, 2nd Pandemonium album). When i told him something i didn't like about his tracks, in a few days he would send another one that would incorporate my suggestions. I guess the greatest achivement of that time was the second Pandemoium album that would fix the dark/creepy feeling of the first one. Later he turned away from me, and now i am just another label owner who fails to see the awesomeness of his newer creations.
  13. Statement about Filipe and Phototropic: Phototropic will be releasing another Pandemonium CD soon. But that does not mean there is currently any connection between Phototropic and Filipe. All tracks of the second Pandemonium CD have been bought in 2008 already by Phototropic Records, and have been waiting for release since then. Contact with Filipe more or less broke off after 2010, both for personal reasons and also because his newer music did not fit the Phototropic music style.

  15. After a while, a new Phototropic CD is about to show up: Pandemonium - For Funs Sake Phototropic Records presents the second part of Pandemoniums story. The first album, Muinomednap, was about the darker sides of this project. The second album concentrates on the bright and fun side of Pandemonium. So expect a lot of fresh crazyness, brought to you in a storytelling mode, filled with complex and inspiring tales that never get old. Tracklist: 01 - Squid (In the Nautilus Mix) (7:17) 02 - Wishing Machine (7:26) 03 - Bazaar of Dreams (7:32) 04 - Hold Us, Mother Gaia (6:40) 05 - Cotton Candy (Dreaming Mix) (7:32) 06 - Hypno-Baby (6:25) 07 - Power of Celtic (Pans Labyrinth Remix) (6:55) 08 - A New Hope (Pans Ice Cream Remix) (6:55) 09 - It's a Magical Garden (6:28) 10 - Zathura (Throw the Dice!) (7:31) Preview available here: https://soundcloud.com/phototropic-records/pandemonium-hypno-baby-sample
  16. The other mastering is even worse To be more specific, it sounds quite unmastered, empty feeling with some loud, sharp melody standing out. But a good mastered track does not sound empty and every instrument has its place with nothing standing out in such an extreme way.
  17. I gave it a listen. Musically its fantastic, some parts are so full of energy.. amazing. But soundwise its horrible, the melodies are so sharp and loud This stuff deserves much better mastering!
  18. No, i think this guy in Germany has the last fresh one...
  19. Goa Gate seems to be a collector item already: http://www.discogs.com/Amithaba-Buddha-Goa-Gate/release/1323275
  20. Omega Point is a great compilation. It is definitly better than Shaltu and its also free to download... so we have a free compilation that beats commercial releases Thumbs up for this one!
  21. Next release on Phototropic will be the second Pandemonium album. Unlike the fist one which was darker music, the second one will be about bright and fun tracks. Tracklist: 01 - Squid (In the Nautilus Mix) (7:17) 02 - Wishing Machine (7:26) 03 - Bazaar of Dreams (7:32) 04 - Hold Us, Mother Gaia (6:40) 05 - Cotton Candy (Dreaming Mix) (7:32) 06 - Hypno-Baby (6:25) 07 - Power of Celtic (Pans Labyrinth Remix) (6:55) 08 - A New Hope (Pans Ice Cream Remix) (6:55) 09 - It's a Magical Garden (6:28) 10 - Zathura (Throw the Dice!) (7:31) Sample online here: More info soon.......
  22. i don't know the contents of the 2001 release. tracklist looks almost the same
  23. Phototropic was here all the time, i just concentrated on label parties to establish an oldschool scene here in Vienna. So now there is parties and cds to organize so there is less releasing. But with all new labels releasing goa too i guess its fine that way.
