Well, if you want to review, thats the right place i guess
  4. Good to see some more Goa released. But 5 of the 9 tracks are already released, some of them serious classics most people know for 10 years or more. I'd say it gets a + for adding to Goa released this year, and a - for the fact that most parts are nothing new. Digi
  5. Hi! Well, the topic already says it... Coverartists wanted! If you want to contribute, PM me, or mail to info@phototropicrecords.com Payment is in Phototropic CDs Digi
  6. ??? I don't know about that. There are two Pandemonium! albums coming up on pressed CD, but Goa Gate is a CDr album... Digi
  7. Ok i don't share the negative opinions. At first it sounded like classic lame indian sounding chill music but the more i listen the more i like it. Its quite atmospheric and has depth. Now i sure listened to it about 20 times and it does not get boring, it gets better every time i listen to it. For me, this release is sure one of the better chill releases of 2008. Digi
  8. Ok found out track times in original post are wrong, here is the correct list: 01 - Goa Gate (6:36) 02 - Sarcophagus (6:57) 03 - Three Eyes (6:29) 04 - Secret of an Amulet (7:03) 05 - Sending Love and Light (7:05) 06 - Transphinx (7:39) 07 - Organic Humanoids II (7:11) 08 - Water Goddess (8:02) 09 - Guardian of the Gate (9:29) Due to popular request: If you have no Credit Card and want to pay with Paypal or European bank transfer, mail to info@phototropicrecords.com. Current price INCLUDING shipping to Europe (with Euro/Dollar rate of 3.May) is 10Euro for one 8$CD and 17Euro for two 8$CDs! Harald aka Digitoxin
  9. Yes its CD-R, but price is cheap so i guess its ok, also it sure looks better than homemade CDR. Pressing CDs does not pay off at those quantities (no release sold over 20 Cds yet), so i sure won't start pressing 1000CDs to sell 50pcs (also the 4 releases would have required an investment of ~4500Euro so far, which would come to a non recoveable loss of 4000Euro i guess just for whats already released). There will be real CD releases for albums for which i expect higher sales, and first release is already on the way. But not every album reaches quanities that make pressing an option. If someone wants to be European reseller, i appreciate that, but i don't have time to handle every single CD. Also, if anyone has a better idea of selling (not one that makes me loose 4000Euro/quater-year), contact me. Harald aka Digitoxin
  10. =============================================================================== Phototropic Records presents: Amithaba Buddha - Goa Gate =============================================================================== The story: This debut album is called "Goa Gate", a trip where you follow Amithaba Buddha through a series of different gates and portals in order to explore different worlds and dimensions... But in the end, Amithaba Buddha will leave you in front of the last gate, where the Guardian of the Gate is standing and where the final challenge is up to you... Can you pass the last Gate all by yourself? Release Notes: This release is brought to you in the new Amithaba Buddha style, which unifies old Amithaba Buddha (known from Psyramid EP) and Lost Buddha (known from Regeneration EP) into a single new Goa-Trance style. Release Info: Genre: Oldschool Goa-Trance Tracks: 9 Playtime: 66:33 min Catalog#: PHTRCD03 URL: www.phototropicrecords.com email: info@phototropicrecords.com Release Date: 1.May.2008 Tracklist: 01 - Goa Gate (5:17) 02 - Sarcophagus (11:12) 03 - Three Eyes (7:16) 04 - Secret of an Amulet (8:24) 05 - Sending Love and Light (8:27) 06 - Transphinx (9:50) 07 - Organic Humanoids II (7:08) 08 - Water Goddess (6:16) 09 - Guardian of the Gate (7:59) Credits: Coverart by Filipe Santos and Rossana Silva Mastered by Digitoxin @ Phototropic Records Buy the CD here: http://kunaki.com/MSales.asp?PublisherId=114152 P.S.: Due to the low Dollar, this CD can be purchased at low price. For example, in Europe 8 Dollar is only 5 Euro! For the same reason shipping costs are not so high either for international shipping.
  11. =============================================================================== Phototropic Records presents: Nolax - Persistence 2.0 =============================================================================== Nolax Persistence 2.0 was first released on 30th June 2007 as 128k mp3 (now hosted on ektoplazm.com) with the promise of a CD release, and here it is. There are small changes in the tracks, and new mastering. "Persistence 2.0 is firmly entrenched in the old school revivalist movement. Nolax draws upon the Eastern mystique of mid-nineties Goa trance while composing fluttering cosmic melodies and luscious atmospheric panoramas. Nowhere is this more evident than in his remake of Shakta’s classic song Lepton Head, originally released in 1996. As a result, this album emanates a genuine quality that is sure to be appreciated by all fans of old school Goa trance." Basilisk/Ektoplazm, http://www.ektoplazm.com/ Release Info: Genre: Oldschool Goa-Trance Tracks: 10 Playtime: 79:35 min Catalog#: PHTRCD02 URL: www.phototropicrecords.com email: info@phototropicrecords.com Release Date: 14.Apr.2008 Tracklist: 01 - Intro (5:17) 02 - Pareidolia (11:12) 03 - We already were on mars (7:16) 04 - Androids do dream 8:24) 05 - Autofab (8:27) 06 - Confusion (9:50) 07 - Shakta - Lepton head - Nolax Remix (7:08) 08 - We are the spoon (6:16) 09 - Silence of the drums (7:59) 10 - Aggression (7:46) Credits: Coverart by Anila C Mastered by Digitoxin @ Phototropic Records Buy the CD here: http://kunaki.com/MSales.asp?PublisherId=114152

  14. Great to see experimenting with new distribution models.. its really time for a paradigm shift. And kunaki.com has a really interesting offer. Musically its not my style, but anyway good luck with your label. digi
  15. For now, flac/wav is only for contributing artists. If you are an artist and didn't get the lossless version yet, contact Filipe or me. Later, there might be 30cents/flac if i find/make a webshop or other scheme that supports that, but found nothing suitable yet. digi
  16. =============================================================================== Phototropic Records presents: VA Jelly Marbles =============================================================================== The Concept: Remember when you were a kid and used to play with marbles and how fun was it? These marbles are back! But this time these marbles are going to play with you. Phototropic Records presents Jelly Marbles, a goa-trance tale where 10 marbles will roll you to a journey that you will never forget. Follow the marbles and they will reveal you its secret. Welcome to Jelly Marbles! Release notes: This is the first release of Phototropic records, the new oldschool Goa label. 17. The problem is that there is too much compression on the whole band. You can only compress 3db away on the sum of all frequencies, else the track will "fall apart" and/or start pumping. So you need to compress for example mid + high down to 2db and the bass to 3db and sum it up so you have 5db dynamic range left. Now you can compress 3db away on the sum which leaves the track with 2db dynamic range, a good value for goa. Digi
  18. Ok i also think i need to say some things, at least because i got an extra chapter on the metapsychic webpage: Metapsychic says on their site i "stole" Phillipe and destroyed the label. Here is what happened: I am starting a new oldschool label called Phototropic records. For a CD release i pay 1500 euro advance, and there are no further payments (like percentage). This offer is not just for specific artists, anyone can apply and i will listen to the album (btw compilation payment is 150 euro/track), so you can also apply with single tracks. Nolax told Phillipe about this offer and he accepted with his Pandemonium album. Thats the story from my side. I don't want to hear i am working on a conspiracy or something. Also i won't apologize to Metapsychic (which is what they seem to expect) because i don't see I did anything wrong. Now i put my offer in public for anyone to see, so anyone can see there is no stealing, "illegal" stuff going on or anything else, it is just a normal offer as a label, valid for all oldschool artists, i won't force anyone to do anything. Digi
  19. Great album!!!!!!!!!!! Supermelodic and fast, thats the way it should be Thats an A+++++ for Mindsphere. But i don't like the mastering, i can hear some serious pumping from compressing, also <300Hz there are phase errors (no offence i just say what i am hearing)... Greetings Digi
  20. Hi! This is the announcement of a new oldschool goa label, which will complement Suntrip and also do what Metapsychic did (before they died). Planned are Pandemonium! CD, Nolax CD release and possibly everyone who sends or uploads a good demo.... Online releases are also planned, and maybe with some new concepts like professionally mastered online releases (very important for oldschool tracks which are typically very much on the musical side of production More infos will be posted when things get sorted and further planned... Digi
  21. Hmm sounds a little to cheesy for my taste. But: The Agneton track is great... no cheese, quite psychedelic. Would love to hear more Agneton tracks digi
  22. I don't like this compilation. Great music but the sound quality sucks. Even worse, it is caused by bad mastering. For example Jungle Hippie that was posted in this forum was mixed oldschool and a little flat, but now its totally distorted. It has not improved, it was made worse. To be specific, i still listen to the original Jungle Hippie sometimes, while i instantly deleted the Hyperactivation version because of the distortion that was added, making it almost unlistenable. To me it looks like musical effects that are used on single instruments were used in a process that should only involve sound stuff like compression.
  23. Hi! The Pareidolia in WAV at metapsychic is not the 2.0 Pareidolia, it is the old version "mastered" in a way so that there is 70% noises that sound like the pitched version of crumpling with a plastic bag and 30% Pareidolia Metapsychic has been informed and also got the new 2.0 version but refuses put the new version in the shop Because of that i must say: don't download the "mastered" Pareidolia there, its the worst sounding version ever. digi
  24. Superfantastic! I hope you are already working on an album ) Digi
  25. Nice track. More melodic than the promo that was posted here a while ago. I think the track should be built more around the slow melodies, because they are the nice ones... but its also a nice track the way it is now. Digi
