  1. Nice topic ... I remember some years ago I made a hobby out of searching images for tracks (lost them all though ... new computer, you know ) I remember for S-Range - Larger Plan I had one like this:

    Da Hool

Hey, I never thought about how awesome the music of Da Hool actually is! I have been kinda liking it in the past, in my trance years ... but as psy came along I lost it out of my perception. Now I rediscovered it ... and boy, this is great. The music is good in a creative way and the videos are hilarious! Watch this for example (Wankers on Duty): ... the music is so awesome I can even find traces of the Fluke sound in it. Brillant. And the Mama Sweet song ( ) ... totally different to the previous one, yet just as high ranking in terms of geniality; the synth sound and the voice in this one is extremely addictive! And then there's Eichelrück, a hilarious song (because of the title) with a genious video aswell! Also Bora Bora, cool song aswell. Absolutely genious. Yet there is one thing. The gigantically awful counterweight that this guy did with Meet Her at the Loveparade ... that one is so utterly horrible that I lack of words Still, the other songs are breathtakingly great ... creative, twisted, perfect. Is there more like this? Creative electronics stuff, with a positive edge to it? Anything?
  3. I'd say both! When the atmosphere's good, a party can be totally awesome! Wonderfully loud sound, a live set you'll never hear again that way, some good alcohol and some nice people, hey, what do you want more? I can't have that all at home, no way! I've already had some great experiences on the dancefloors out there ... and also on the ambient floors ... and they would never have been possible at home that way in that intensity. Parties, however, can be sucky (or "not that special", that's already bad enough) too. They depend on many things - luck, money, good sound, good people, good timing, good happenings, my own wellbeing (can't enjoy it when I'm ill) and more. Plus every time you have a great experience, you tend to chase it next time, so you become used to it over time and thus the joy curve is flattening. That's why a lot of parties actually are not great (or "not that great anymore"). But once you manage that everything's perfect, which still happens every once in a while, then it's wonderful bliss At home I'm independent of all those fragile factors that make a party great - I choose the time, I choose the music, I choose everything. That makes it a lot easier to have a good experience. And well, because it's so easy, I like that aswell. But it can't beat the greatness of a really perfect night out - I'm thinking of a night of that "first Finntroll humppa metal madness, then Solar Fields divine chill time"-nights, you can never beat that by staying at home, never! so actually, although I'd say both, morale commands me to vote for the dancefloor monkey, but alas, me stupid have already voted for "both", so yeah, forget it...
  4. yes, I heard of The Drone Project... and it sounds not bad, even though I miss the acid parts CBL were so famous for... it seems their music is slowly becoming one of the depressive drone ambient kind IMO ... and I wouldn't embrace that, CBL used to have a warmer sound... ...but that strange instrument in the third video is cool they could mean sideprojects aswell ... but anyway...
  5. aye, congratulations indeed
  6. well, it's not the label that buys the material, they just place an order at a CD manufacturer. the rest is up to the manufacturer.
  7. I'd rather mention Ott in the context ... I hear some of that pirate dub in the samples ... and I'm allergic against that... but there are also good sounds
  8. humppa trance? I'd really wanna know how that sounds like
  9. haven't heard too much of this guy, but I was never very motivated to get into it much ... all I know is he's making more or less ordinary progressive... nothing outstanding, not even The Light really does it for me although the track is not bad ... oh well, maybe I'll see him playing on a party some day, but he won't be the big reason for me to attend...
  10. omg, a new HUVA Network?! I totaly missed it, how could I lotsa thanks for the thread, mister
  11. this is a cool link, thanks for sharing! anyway ... yaay, we are worth 20.000 dollars! we are just about half of isratrance

    OTT

I always pronounced it simply "ott", like in Otto without the last o. No O.T.T., oh tee tee, oh tea tea, oh titty or whatever... And I find it god that the guy himself wants it pronounced like that aswell. Although I don't give very much about his work...
  13. As I was asking Jean-Luc himself about if there would ever be coming a new Front 242 album, his answer was an "Uh" sound, his head turned away and he left with a light grin on his face... whatever that makes that new sound bit seems to be promising though! In the meantime, if you wanna hear something good, check out 32Crash, a sideproject of Front242: http://www.myspace.com/32crash
  14. maybe you're right, but I didn't like what I heard and I don't buy what I don't like besides, if I wanted psy-chill-dustrial desolated city feeling I'd go listen to Ulver - Perdition City
  15. Hans Lenk - Macht und Machbarkeit der Technik (power and feasibility of technics) sounds a bit watery and neutral ... I've chosen to only read the part where inforamtion systems are concerned ... especially the subject whether information systems can be made responsible for moral, ethnical and whatever decisions or not, that one interests me a lot...
  16. ah, I see now ... so the record store within Saturn Return was Milky Way Rec ... got my CDs from there. and they closed down? what a pity
  17. hey, thanks for that suggestion, I will check 'em...
  18. awesomeness indeed... respect!
  19. Schwanzgesteuert! I © that for myself already as a future track title, that word is awesome

  22. yeah indeed, thank you so much travbrad! awesome statistics! this is really cool
  23. yeah, it's still good
  24. this one's so stupid that it's already almost good
  25. Saturn Return has closed down? awww... Well, but Milky Way Rec. is in the same street anyway (Tyska Brinken), no? I remember I got the psy CDs I brought home from Sweden from a store in Tyska Brinken, don't know anymore if it was the one or the other
