  1. well, it's not the label that buys the material, they just place an order at a CD manufacturer. the rest is up to the manufacturer.
  2. I'd rather mention Ott in the context ... I hear some of that pirate dub in the samples ... and I'm allergic against that... but there are also good sounds
  3. humppa trance? I'd really wanna know how that sounds like
  4. haven't heard too much of this guy, but I was never very motivated to get into it much ... all I know is he's making more or less ordinary progressive... nothing outstanding, not even The Light really does it for me although the track is not bad ... oh well, maybe I'll see him playing on a party some day, but he won't be the big reason for me to attend...
  5. omg, a new HUVA Network?! I totaly missed it, how could I lotsa thanks for the thread, mister
  6. this is a cool link, thanks for sharing! anyway ... yaay, we are worth 20.000 dollars! we are just about half of isratrance

    OTT

I always pronounced it simply "ott", like in Otto without the last o. No O.T.T., oh tee tee, oh tea tea, oh titty or whatever... And I find it god that the guy himself wants it pronounced like that aswell. Although I don't give very much about his work...
  8. As I was asking Jean-Luc himself about if there would ever be coming a new Front 242 album, his answer was an "Uh" sound, his head turned away and he left with a light grin on his face... whatever that makes that new sound bit seems to be promising though! In the meantime, if you wanna hear something good, check out 32Crash, a sideproject of Front242: http://www.myspace.com/32crash
  9. maybe you're right, but I didn't like what I heard and I don't buy what I don't like besides, if I wanted psy-chill-dustrial desolated city feeling I'd go listen to Ulver - Perdition City
  10. Hans Lenk - Macht und Machbarkeit der Technik (power and feasibility of technics) sounds a bit watery and neutral ... I've chosen to only read the part where inforamtion systems are concerned ... especially the subject whether information systems can be made responsible for moral, ethnical and whatever decisions or not, that one interests me a lot...
  11. ah, I see now ... so the record store within Saturn Return was Milky Way Rec ... got my CDs from there. and they closed down? what a pity
  12. hey, thanks for that suggestion, I will check 'em...
  13. awesomeness indeed... respect!
  14. Schwanzgesteuert! I © that for myself already as a future track title, that word is awesome

    Insane

that ought to be a joke what is this album anyway?
  16. yeah, Lungs of Life really made me think if they kinda lost it...
  17. yeah indeed, thank you so much travbrad! awesome statistics! this is really cool
  18. yeah, it's still good
  19. this one's so stupid that it's already almost good
  20. Saturn Return has closed down? awww... Well, but Milky Way Rec. is in the same street anyway (Tyska Brinken), no? I remember I got the psy CDs I brought home from Sweden from a store in Tyska Brinken, don't know anymore if it was the one or the other
  21. well, I don't really know... I kinda like some Shpongle stuff off AYS, but most of it is too whacked off for me. I don't like the stupid samba vibe in the later ones ... and they sound like they are obliged to sound crazy and not naturally, don't know if you get what I mean. FSOL on the other hand is even more horrible. I found Dead Cities in some store recently, for 5 Euro or so ... and I pre-listened it there since I got excited because there's much talking about FSOL on this forum here ... but I got utterly disappointed, this was no chill or anything, this was sorta screeching electronic cramped madness to me, kinda. I hated it. I mean, if I want somewhat this type of stuff I'd rather go for some straight edge FLA industrial, but never for this strange "postindustrial psy-chill", sorta. I left the CD there, I'm not giving a bread and butter for this. But I'm somewhat startled why people talk so good about FSOL here. What I heard was awful. I mean, taste is taste, but what would you guys say? Is there an album from them that I would like more? Still, as of now, concerning the subject ... overall I don't like both If I found any of their CDs (of any of the two) for 5 Euros, the only one I'd buy would be AYS. So I guess that means I still prefer Shpongle over FSOL. Don't really feel I like them enough to vote though...
  22. very interesting ... thanks for the link I'd totally have missed it, I'm never looking around on Isratrance... I'd be very curious to hear more of these "old versions" of the songs though. I believe I have found the old Skintrade, in (2nd track, you'll recognize it) ... the rhythm is IMO 10 times better than the album version... and when that one's good, maybe the rest is good aswell? Is there any chance to hear more of these lost versions? and btw: ...so it's Vitalizer and not Marktstrasse? I can't believe it. That german word has become far too audible...
  23. yeah, the foam ones are good too, but they can provide too much dampening on occasions... that's why I prefer the handkerchief ones (if you use good soft paper ones they won't hurt ... only cheap toilet paper hurts in my experience) ... you can practically adjust them for yourself individually for each party ... use more paper if it's louder, use less and roll it not that tightly if it's not so loud...
  24. The discussion "physical versus digital" is already quite old ... meanwhile one just has to accept that there are people who prefer this and people who prefer that... anyway, it's a good question whether a digital release is the most eco-friendly one ... the servers to host it need power too ... and to manufacture the servers and PCs themselves there's also lots of resources necessary ... only question is whether they count or not, since almost everybody in the western world has now got a PC... you could solve the problem though by buying environmental certificates that guarantee to re-cycle the exact amount of CO2 (for example by foresting up or whatever) that the release has produced, no matter in what form... how about that?
  25. daybrain, you are from germany, aren't you? if you are, head over to http://www.goatrance.de/goabase they've got a forum there (besides party news) ... a bit chaotic, but I bet you'll like it
