It'd be nice if there was another Shpongle album like the second one.... the other two were ok... but I defenitly enjoyed the second one most. And I agree with the people who said some new talent would be nice. Be great to see posferd with new people or even... shock horror on his own again!

Astral Project-People can fly /thread Hallucinogen stuff is perhaps the best of psytrance... and very unique. However I don't really think it's enough like other psytrance to qualify for this category We're looking for perfection here not uniqueness and perfection In this People can fly by Astral Projection excels. It is very brilliant... and has a lot of interesting melodies as well as a touch from a style that later became psytrance. LSD-Hallucinogen is far too unique a song to qualify... I mean the first bit is talking ffs.

Hey guys was just down to the local shopping market... was a reasonably big one (like 2 story) but still... I went down to HMV and saw Infected mushroom cds under BEST SELLER in the dance section! Went down and bought a copy of The Gathering and Classic Mushroom but there was also Vicous Delicous(Vicous Delicous was hidden from view actually... and I'm suprised only one copy... perhaps we don't like it here?), 2 copies of converting vegetarians and another The gathering box there (as well as a empty slot where B.P. Empire had been)... suffice to say I didn't expect that when I walked into the store. Was a bit expensive but I'm certainly happy anyway... I also saw 1200 mics-Magic Numbers (yuck) and a Tristran Album... Well you don't see that every day. Well I'm recomending that shop to anyone whos buying edm cds certainly. Well I'm defenitly supporting that shop... have any of you guys seen and bought Psytrance/Goa Trance cds in stores?

Hey guys this is just a general discussion thing... but I thought I'd post it here. Recently I've been finding it quite tiresome to be doing stuff every 2 weeks so I think next (well it's actually one a fortnight but anyway) weeks one will be the last one for a while. There will also be a Christmas and New Years mix which I have special stuff for. Anyway I've just been getting into other genres recently... as well as tbh running out of music a bit. Expect to see some mixes that aren't exactly my normal style sometime in the near future... and maybe I'll return to mixing Goa and doing a show when I have bought some more releases. I'm also possibly looking at doing blue light disco gigs in the near future (It's a police community organised underage disco thing here in Aus) and I've heard they play happy hardcore... but I really hope I can get away with playing practically anything else. Been finding myself getting into Drum and Bass recently actually... so I'll probably approach them with a Drum and Base, Progpsy and full on psy mix and actually play whatever... with some Goa classics if it feels right. Hopefully I will go well with that... Anyway hope you guys have enjoyed everything I've done so far... and I'll redo week 1 and 3 at some time as well as get a torrent up with weeks 1-7 +The 2 specials.

Selling out: Negative-Nothing will ever be like the album the artist made earlier for unique artists (like IM) Positive-Kids buy new album... they hate the earlier albums... after some listening they like the middle albums and eventually the older ones. Kid is now into good style.

So what? Did they sell out with Merlin too? Just because Vicous Delicous sucks doesn't mean you have to bag out their other albums. I'm just gonna be controversial and say that album is the better version of the gathering.

First psy artist woulda been Infected mushroom Who played that track for you? Erm? Me? Funnily enough I got into psytrance by playing eve online and telling a guy I liked trance... he said he liked psytrance and recomended Infected mushroom. I got into goa by confusing psy with goa and then finding out they were different. I like goa much better now. Your first goa album? Astral Projection stuff and Distance to goa stuff. First album I actually bought that contains Goa would be X-Dream best of... I'm buying Transdimentional soon too. Your first rave/psy party? Royal doof 4... only one I've been to so far... planning on going to the new years melbourne thing though too.

Still very much haven't been able to get this sendspace isn't being very nice. [Edit] Finally got it to download... listening right now... btw theres better free stuff out there. Just avoid megaupload, rapidshare and sendspace... basicly anything that has a download timer is a killer (and sendspace arbitrarily blocks you every now and then). [Edit] 40 minutes through... theres been one dodgey track but the rest are pretty solid. However... what's with every second song being reggae? I'm not against reggae so long as it's inredibly good(ok maybe I am)... but it just doesn't work very well for the flow switching back and forth between genres every second song it seems. I'm kind of getting a bit bored of the reggae (this song with the acoustic guitar is giving me the shits) so I'm going to stop listening now... might try it again later.

After listening to this again (and the becoming insane EP) I have to say. There are 2 good songs on this: Becoming insane and Before. Before is kind of like a more melodic and trancey version of the I'm the Supervisor stuff. Wheras becoming insane is basicly just pop... albeit well done pop. Vicous Delicous is just space filler... while the rest of the album is terrible. I must say however I'm beginning to like the stuff on the becoming insane single more. [Edit] On second thought... Before is actually a very excellent track! Seriously if you hate the rest of the album but like the earlier stuff just check out this track. If they really want to do more poppey stuff... then more stuff like cities of the future and becoming insane please. This album is for the most part terrible.

One of infected mushrooms greatest. One of the reasons why this song is so great is simply because it is instantly appealing yet deep and sounds great later in the song as well. While stuff like Psycho takes ages to build up and is very deep... this is as I said instantly appealing while also good later in the song and has replay value. This contains the good side of B.P. Empire and the good side of classical mushroom (can't really fault B.P. Empire style though) while being more jazzy then anything on either. TBH this sounds more B.P. Empire then anything... but it is far more uplifting and in general "fun" then anything on there. The singing is amazing too(regardless of talent.. it just blends in with the song so well and puts you in a state of trance). Cheese certainly isn't the right word to describe this song... it sounds cheesy but it just works. It's over the top but that's not too much because it just works! A must hear for infected mushroom fans. Especially since a lot of people don't know of this tracks existence.

Won't she like Goan ambient? Surely you have the perfect compromise! P.S. I quite like reggae... not as much as ambient but it's still pretty good so might be a bit biest in this situation.

BTW is it just me or does it seem like Dimension 5's two albums and Pleidians IFO (and probably the other one which I haven't heard) seem to have kick started the newschool goa sound. Was just listening to Ghost on acids set again... (and was listening to vox's earlier) but it seems like so much of it is based on pleidians/dimension 5.

No mate ofc it's not spam although the infinite number of "tune in to station y to hear x" most certainly is. I was at first a little tiny bit annoyed that I had to register but it was very easy and didn't even need email activation. That and your server is giving very nice download speed is keeping me happy. Downloading 1 atm and will listen to it in a few hours... and probably will download much more in the future.

Mmm great set and thanks for link Ghost on Acid. Just reminded me of how much I liked Vox-Innerpolarity even before I was into Goa a lot. I haven't got that album on my HDD anymore (HDD corruption) and I think I'm going to download it again! Funnily enough I was actually listening to a full on set before this... I think I like this a lot better for some reason...

Theres some really nice 145-155 bpm darkpsy. I really got into it after listening to Cybernetika's warpcore 3 (suggested you check it out... great set)

I find the name Neo Goa ironic. Sure it's nice and it's Goa but most so called Neo Goa stuff I've heard ends up sounding like a cross between dimension 5, other goa with a little bit of modern psy elements. Perhaps there is some stuff that does actually sound like the older stuff that's being produced today. But seriously what do you call stuff that sounds like this? http://www.discogs.com/release/551261 It's quite distinctive from other stuff.
