  1. Well actually I don't get why psytrance producers get payed so much. FFS they're just pressing a few random buttons and making stupid noises. It's not that hard to program in stuff on a midi keyboard or whatevargh. Now actually being able to play music... that's another story. That's all I read m.r. Jaded because he doesn't get enough recognition. Yes of course the scene relies on the producer a lot more then the DJ and it's more important that there are killer tracks in the first place. However this is an electronic scene... so it's mainly the DJs that buy the music (I believe some people here said psy is actually the other way round so this is going to be in general) so no one gives a shit about infected mushroom or whatevargh because they aren't going to be buying the music anyway... they just want to know what the DJs name is so they know if they go next time it'll guarantee them a good time. Short version: Mainly DJs buy music, therefore no one gives a shit about the music, only the DJ that's playing. Whether you concider painting a more skillfull and subtle artwork then photography they are still both subtle forms of artworks. Although going along with offtopic: Yes Tiesto sucks... and theres plenty of great unknown DJs and your renown isn't allways a good indicator of your skill.
  2. The ones it does work in you get a big timer (like 3 hours) when you download something. Sendspace is often temporarily unavaliable for the free service too as well as slow download speed. In short: Both suck Use filefront or something else.
  3. What about Conquistador 1-Juno reactor. Some nice sad spoken latin in a beutiful hispanic voice.
  4. Easily best song... this is a really good compilation. A couple of bad tracks but the rest are great... a different yet good style to a lot of other stuff.
  5. Will ofcourse be checking this out.... won't hear it till monday though so will comment then.

  7. And now for potentially the most random topic ever... Is it just me or does the Reason 3 song sound like Fields of sunflower by hum. Sample of said song: http://files.filefront.com/Hum+Field+of+Su...;/fileinfo.html Having heard said song first I'm thinking wtf the reason song totally sounds like fields of sunflower! The piano is the same in some parts! Infact the Reason song has more paino melodies then the above song despite being 5 minutes shorter! http://files.filefront.com/Reasonsongmp3/;...;/fileinfo.html I'm guessing the Reason 3 song probably came first. Concidering it was released feb 18 2005... and funnily enough this song has been on 2 2005 compilations.
  8. "I think it's time to discuss illicit drug use... as it relates to artistic inept" is the song I just listened to heh. Subcouds-Greenflow (didn't listen to sample) It's on Goa Head 2 btw. Notable features: Plays the kickdrum backwards Has 4 kicks (1 per bar) then does an extra one at the end of that AND at the end of the 8th kick (1 per bar except for above) does 2 extra Is written in a minor If that all sounds familiar it's defenitly that track. Uhh sample... sounds not much like it at all... I have no idea then... ahh well. Doesn't sound much like subcouds style tbh. Subcouds seem to be a bit obsessed with playing kicks backwards and that doesn't sound like their soundet... I mean they play that kinda speed and darker stuff but that doesn't sound like their sample set. I also note someone saying "We shall understand it it's an element of nature" and some other stuff I couldnt make out.

After recently hearing how awesome time machine is... I think I'm gonna try out this mix. expired
  10. There are programs you can use to split up audio files....
  11. Hey is it just me or does Shakey Shaker kind of sound like a slightly dumbed down version of Angelic Particles?
  12. +1 Theres some great dream trance out there.
  13. Sums up pretty much what I thought. I love how it mixes elements of Progpsy with oldschool goa! Pretty big Progpsy fan.
  14. That's from the "Last hippy standing" doco. Awesome doco btw... made in 1999. I highly recomend it. btw in this who's the second guy in the really deep orange cloth? I seem to kind of recognise him... maybe he just looks and sounds like someone I know but what's his name?
  15. Yep... loving the ones I'm hearing here. The Goa Mixes at TA are usually quite few in number... and the few I have heard aren't the best ever.
  16. A lot of shit ones too. The one I looked up yesterday when I installed youtube that was decent was: It has an electronic music focus as well. Seriously so many reason tutorials with black guys who are like "yo sup I'm gonna show ya how to get some reason hip and a hop beats". I wouldn't suggest any of them. Unless your looking for a lot of really stupid descriptions. Theres one where this guy spends about 2 minutes explaining about how romantic a warm pad is and how it's like cuddling your girlfriend... that was pretty funny.
  17. Hey what about Merlin? Is there much other Goa/Psy trance with celtic influence? Apart from... well only one I know of is Celtic Cross and really enjoyed that album.
  18. I heard flow on youtube... amazing I've heard Deep space 5D in 192kbps MP3... REALLY AMAZING I've heard Limitless Dimension 192kbps MP3 REALLY AMAZING as well... they are both... a little bit minimal (compared to some other Goa Trance stuff) but every note is well chosen and it just works really well. My point about maybe them releasing a new album is that like wouldn't Suntrip have to contact the dimension 5 group? Wouldn't that be a bit hard if they weren't organised? Regardless defenitly going to keep a watch on Suntrip records in the future. So theres some discussion and also because I'm curious... what's the history of Suntrip records?
  19. Hey I noticed on discogs Dimension 5 have re released their 1997 album this year on suntrip? Which reading up on discogs is also associated with this site. What's the story on this one? Is there a market for Goa Trance again? Are Dimension 5 coming back to do 1998 style Goa Trance in a new album? What's the story? Slightly off topic but I was about to buy this album... (that's why I was on discogs). Interesting to see that such an old album got re released (that's a good sign... and a good initiative of that psynews founder)
  20. Doof? I wouldn't exactly say he's IMish... theres certainly lots of Goa that doesn't have beats pumping through the entire thing (Doof is a good example). What's even more interesting... is in Goa unorthadox beats... like in Astral Warrior-Chi AD Although seriously.... that randomness you get in stuff like Funchmelon/Symphonic/B.P. Empire I have never heard anything like anywhere. Their other stuff is great albeit not quite as unique (Juno Reactor/The Delta blends classical with goa/psy sounds... not to similar but then theres nothing at all like B.P. Empire). Interestingly... I reckon Symphonic has to be one of the best songs IM did (It's with Yahel as well released 1991-2001 or something check discogs).
  21. New link: http://files.filefront.com/Welcome+to+Goa+...;/fileinfo.html
  22. I had a feeling that Doof was a project that had Simon Posferd in it for a while. Then I checked discogs. According to discogs your right. Doof's overall style and flow kind of feels similar to Simon Posferd's early Goa Trance and stuff like Celtic cross and Shpongle. [Edit] Looking at discogs again turns out he's in Twisted records. It shows! Simon Posferd defenitly has a very good ear for talent!
  23. Well Angelic Particles is my favourite hallucinogen song defenitly. I've heard that track is good... (never could get into space pussy though). Really liked Celtic cross... Twisted was alright... LSD was good but didn't really like the rest of the album.
