Not sure if B.P. Empire made a big impact but it's certainly very different and very good. I've also heard it a bit at recent outdoor events too classic!

Nah Traktor 3... well if you want history then check out www.last.fm/user/darkarbiter but I'll sum it up. I decided that mixing would be a really cool thing to do at the time and did a few mixes with cool edit pro 2.1 (you can't really do much with it so I wouldn't exactly suggest it). First mix I thought just overlap first and last 30 seconds... it sounded horrible and I gradually decided just to mix pads together. At this stage I was mixing psytrance. I did a fullon psy mix which worked really well progression wise a bit after that. I then went back to doing fast slow fast slow far too many times a mix. With Machines are tools I recently discovered oldschool Goa and decided that I'd start out with Psy and gradually mix into Goa. It worked really well and had good flow (albeit crap beatmatching or more to the point lack of due to the program I was using). I also got rid of my too many songs from one artist in a mix mindset. After that mix I tried a Goa mix which turned out really crap. After a one month break I bought Traktor 3 and decided to have another shot at things. At the same time I was contacted by Trancechannel (well I said I was interested in a radio show) who accepted me as their DJ. I Mixed this mix the first time round and the beatmatching was alright (some trainwrecking and no change of tempo)... I then made my second week's show (which due to Drew dissapearing hasn't been aired yet). The day before this was due to be aired I decided to redo the beatmatching and thats what's linked above. The day before the second week was due to be aired I redided the beatmatching as well (that was friday... it's now tuesday). I'm currently pondering on what to do for the third week. I recently got mixed in key and I'm going to think about harmonic mixing for future stuff (although It appears I did it accidentally anyway) Next weeks show is slightly more oldschool. I'm defenitly going to keep doing the out of place mood setter at the start thing though. It worked really well in this mix. Suffice to say expect more quality mixes like this in the future BTW if your wondering I'm 14 years old and I've been converting all my house friends into Goa/Psy trance addicts. I've got 3 years background in Piano (like 7-10) but I don't do anything musical apart from that atm. Acid old trance mix? What?

Ya went there... didn't really like the style of Psy they were playing. I've heard Fullon stuff that is far more melodic then the stuff there. Had a good time but would have had an excellent time if they were playing better music.

Yes I would. Heck I met this guy that was playing psytrance in the background along with didgeridoo and I bought his cd (was about $10). Depending on how good it is I'd pay $10-15 to get it shipped/mailed to me. So long as it is a decent quality cover and cd. Yes I torrent... but if it's decent I'll pay for a 320kbps/wav version of it off beatport and if I can't find it anywhere then that's the artists fault. Although TBH I just prefer to pay for stuff in wave/320kbps mp3 off Beatport.

Well Thermal Twist is my favourite track of theirs. So no not really. They do some nice... different stuff though. Ice flows is really nice too and I don't really like much downbeat stuff.

I only do stuff on my computer mainly (including listening to music) so I bought real nice computer speakers. They are nicer quality then the stuff I've heard in anyone's lounge and the subwoofer gives nice base and reasonably loud too (at least for listening that's all I need). Do me just fine. I'm so music quality elitest now. I refuse to listen to anything on mp3 player headphones or in a car stereo because it's just degrading to the songs.

I know this isn't my thread but thanks for all the replies! Heres me thinking I'm the only person that is weird enough to have Goa and Dream Trance as my favourite Trance genres. :drama:

BTW guys I've got some great mixes going on www.trancechannel.net my beatmatching's much better now I've upgraded to Traktor 3. Will post them up here a week after they are aired. They are all old school so far as well (done 2 so far and they turned out great).

IMO Alien project is highly overrated.... all the stuff just doesn't have much melody... rest of the people that I've heard songs of in this thread I like though. Penta is kinda half dark isn't he (theres some word for that but can't remember)

Heard a few tracks from this album.... and they are REALLY GOOD! Defenitly thinking of buying this album.

I'd give this track 6/10 for having a few good tracks (Dance of the witches is excellent though) and being different. Some of the later tracks are a bit boring and repetitive however. I'm not one to like heavy metal but I like any psy adaption of it (e.g. S.U.N. Project or Dark Psy stuff)

This album is great.... I can defenitly find (and have found for Nova 3, Journey into the subconcious and morning star) space for most of the tracks in this mix. I do however seem to be the only person who doesn't like Gajinrocker or the Prayer... sorry just can't get into them for some reason. The rest of the album is great though and Journey into the subconcious is a classic.

This album is aweful. Vicous delicous is an excellent track but the rest of the tracks are rather poor. My favourite albums from IM is I'm the Supervisor and B.P. empire. Merlin was alright for the most part. Classical mushroom and Converting vegetarians were more a mix of ok tracks a few great. I really liked I'm the supervisor but this is just horrible. 3/10 for me... theres worse "Psytrance" albums out there but not by anyone who've made a few things decent. Theres psytrance bands that have gone into more mainstream (some juno reactor and shpongle's latest album) which sounds great but this is not one of them. Couldn't really get into the gathering either. Vicous delicous only has one good song which is rather dissapointing. Even still there is better stuff then Vicous delicous like Dracul, Cities of the future, Muze breaks, B.P. Empire, Funchmelon, Psycho and Scorpion Frog.
