The thing is... infected mushroom are doing us a favour. Kids will eventually listen to their old stuff and like good music. And I know there will be people who copy their pop stuff... but they will be shitty and it'll be obvious they have no talent and won't be accepted by the psy scene. So I think this can only have a positive impact on the scene.

Infected Mushroom A brilliant duo... sold out a tad too often but I think they'll be back making what they love eventually. Probably my favourite here Astral Projection Quite an excellent duo... however they might be 5% above the competition but they get a ton more popularity. There are plenty more Goa trance names that are just as good as these guys and as innovative. Khetzal to name one Simon Posferd Has made a lot of 8/9 out of 10 albums and tracks... lacks any killer songs IMO. I've never really liked much of his solo projects either. Shpongle was amazing... but concidering how much I like the infinity project... I think Raja Ram had quite a part in it as well. Pleiadians These guys have a quite unique sound(or they did before the group halved from what I've heard)... they also have their excellent tracks as well as tracks that are solid yet not standard due to their unique sound. My second favourite... after infected and probably for similar reasons to infected Crop circles... who's that?

BTW what is the brassneck sample from? Kinda sounds like bsgalactica or is it something else?

Suffice to say I just heard the preview of this track on beatport and that was a pretty bad remix. Keep absolutely classic Goa songs and melodies to the Goa trance genre mmk? This really exemplifies my dislike of psytrance in general (radio by X-Dream and The gathering by IM are supposed to be the new sound? Where did everyone go wrong?) I guess the alien project remix of people can fly wasn't too bad... but have you guys heard any other psy remixes of Goa songs that you though were good or bad? Comments?

After hearing that my two favourite genres were combined (if you count psy/goa as one genre) in an album... I have to say I'm really looking forward to listening to this. Might have a go at writing a nice review after I finish listening too.

Ok well... where do you find synthesized kicks(and hi hats) in reason? and any suggestions for tutorials or stuff I should read up on making/editing patches for thor? I know what keys are... thats my musical background (oh yes and I know how to find out major and minor chords with rapid evo).

Electric Universe-Stardiver has some tracks that have some quite breakbeat rythmns. Infact I'm really dissapointed with this guy... he has nice jazzy goa trance tracks and he ends up making bog standard psy! Thats worse then from bog standard goa to bog standard psy!

Great album! Many very very solid tracks... and rising star is brilliant! Full review later but I'd probably say 9.1/10. I don't really think the tracks sound similar either... well at least it doesn't affect the listening experience really. This album has everything going for it... pretty nice flow... some real nice tunes and pretty pschedelic yet fun and uplifting.

I just bought reason 4... and I know how to put stuff together (watched a few tutorial vids) and I think I could make a very basic hip hop back track but that isn't really what I'm after at all. So could any make any suggestions as to what I should be doing? What do you guys do when you want to make a new track (I'm happy with just learning a little more about something atm lol)? And what helped you guys when you were starting?

Theres also the fact that most people have extremely crappy computer speakers. my computer speakers are the best speakers in the house it's obvious the reason why.

I must admit there are certainly tracks that sound shit on a shit system... and then theres tracks that sound ok on a shit system and only slightly better on a good system. In general Goa needs a good sound system imo
