The Real World "When cosmologists look at the night sky the see something strange...galaxies aren't behaving as they should" Is it just me or does the cover look like a ladies love tunnel? This is Philip Jidbrandt and Tommy Axelsson (aka, Wizack Twizack) with 4 track EP in the night full-on category. I like Tommy's music, so I thought I would give this a try. Besides he's a friend on Psynews and that's what friends are for. Art of Creation has a sci-fi feel with the acidic backlash that is commonly found in EU tracks. Point for you. Welcome has a growl to it with hi-tech darkness that is right in Tommy's wheelhouse. Delicious as they continue with the EU sparkle synths. Matter of fact if you told me that EU released Mind of God 2.0 I wouldn't have blinked. Two points. The choir pads in Data Conflict secure the atmosphere but this is also a bull in the china shop with Xerox and Illumination Battleship power. The last track, The Real World is a chunky, powerful track with liquid leads and shimmering synths. I know this is 1 and a half years old, but it's definitely worth checking it out if you are in the market for some powerful dark-full on. Good stuff. Beatport Mdk

Artist: Ex-Gen Title: Extreme Genetics 0.1 EP Label: 3D Vision Date: July, 2012 1. Awaken 2. Exhausted feat Khopat 3. Sharingan Sometimes you have to take a step back to regain a clearer view. I stopped listening to psy and goa for a while and focused on something else. Despite the sick moves you see here, I was not chosen to pilot the Mars rover. All politics. Seeing as how that didn't work out I now feel energized with renewed vigor for the music I love. Ex-Gen is one of the top producers of high-tech or twilight or whatever the f*ck the kids are calling it these days. Whereas full-on has taken on the form of cotton candy this style pours kerosene on said cotton candy, sets it ablaze and laughs as your kid runs away screaming that clown is a bad man. Groovy, melodic and intense with a dark edge. And he doesn't disappoint with this 3 track EP. This is an in your face smackdown with acidic leads, sci-fi atmosphere, and thumping beats. The first track doesn't seem to believe in easing you into things as it's boot is so far up your ass that you're spewing acid in a projectile fashion. Exhausted sees him join forces with fellow cotton candy abuser Khopat and it's how you'll feel when that whip like lead finishes with you. Once Sharigan gets going it would be like trying to stop a bullet train with a papeer towel. Go ahead, sure you can use Bounty...knock the mustache off that 70's porn motherf*cker. This is not music you take a smoke break to lest you be the one who gets smoked. I don't know what type of extreme genetic experiments are going on at 3D, but I'll volunteer. greetings buddies!! I just recorded a set last night, which was the set I performed at a festi a week or so ago. The set progresses from goa-trance to darkpsy (backwards from the festi, where it was darkpsy-goatrance). It is all live hardware production, and a one shot recorded performance. Please Help!!! Someone left an unlabeled CD on my car at a party I was playing at 3 weeks ago. LSD Trip 9. Resident Of Gods 10. Sin City Supposedly wine gets better with age. I haven't drunk enough wine that I couldn't get at the supermarket to know this. Some people become more attractive as they age. Look at George Clooney. What is he...in his 50's? He's still pulling some hot tail. Better example...Sean Connery. He's 75 if I'm a day old and he can melt chicks just by talking to them. I usually have to have my kidnapping rope and duct tape. We all have our own recipes for success. My point is that this was released back in 2008 and just like the above examples it has gotten better with age. No it hasn't. But let's be fair. It wasn't that good to begin with. I mean, look who they had to work with. "Needs more bananas!" "You've said that about every f*cking track!!" At times darkspy at times night-full on its monotonous bass line and acid deluge seem thrown together like a trancers wardrobe. Buildups galore, cheesy samples, and I don't think this project knew there were more than 3 presets on a synthesizer. This is the music I'm pumping when I'm driving down the road and the windows are open so you can't really hear it anyway. If you dropped me in the middle of Bombay and gathered up 10 Indians I would be pretty easy to spot right? Well, these tracks are Indians 1,2,3,4...you get the idea. The only thing separating the tracks are the track names and last I checked people don't dance at a poetry slam. But I'm sure there'd be a lot of finger snapping. But there is a bright side. As it was released in 2008 they have only gotten better and better. Their track Quarantine on MMD's Digital Manipulation Device? Awesome. Hunab Ku's Mind Disastour? Hella awesome. And round it out with Psycho Slut from Malfunktion Part 2 and this project is on the train to twilight players. So yes, their first album was weak, but I say better to come out weak and finish strong than Pleaidians. There I said it. So skip it, but know that these guys are on the rise. I lost a really great track, some years ago and I have been searching for a long time without any luck. I dont know the artist, beacuse i got it on a burned cd, with no track id on - and I lost the cd. Its very charachteristic with the female voice saying lsd, lsd growing growing, she says it like two times during the track. The track has a really nice kick. Any help is much appreciated!! -

It's always nice to explore the history of a certain sound. A lot of classic tracks from the mid to late 90's are mainly goa, or goa-influenced psytrance. A lot of times I'll listen to classics sets and be bored to tears with the lack of variety in some tracks. In this mix, I play a collection of weird music from early psytrance artists that broke the mold and pushed forward a style that was just a little different than everything around them. Note: A couple of the transitions are not so great, but it shouldn't detract hopefully. Also, if anyone is concerned about the Infected Mushroom track, think back and remember how boss Classical Mushroom was. Yeah, that's right.
