  1. Hello Psynews! Mystic Sound Records proudly unveils a “Levels Of Imagination” to its devoted listeners – a new album by Maiia303 and the label’s one step further immersion into Goa-trance domain. https://mysticsound.bandcamp.com/album/maiia303-levels-of-imagination Tracklist: 01. Long Awaited Journey 02. Levels Of Imagination 03. Goasana (Album Mix) 04. Beyond Borders Of Mind 05. Temple Of Sound 06. Calling The Tribe 07. Explorer Of The Fantasy Worlds 08. Connection With The Great Spirit 09. Sun Of Anjuna 10. Electric Particles (Album Mix) Release info: It comes as a rejuvenation motion towards classic Goa-trance via modern approach to musical production, manifesting itself as a bright flashback to the roots of ole-loved psytrance culture that had once expanded worldwide in a rolling wave of new-age glory. Delightfully relished with deep and dynamic flow of arpeggio tricks and juicy sound of classic synthesisers like famed Roland 303, the album won’t leave anyone unmoved. So let the music bestow you the “Levels Of Imagination”. Let it awaken energies and instinctive knowledge hidden deeply inside and partly forgotten, but still living in every soul. Let it show you the stunning and beautiful alchemy of altered mindscaping, coming to life through ecstatic trance dance. Written & produced by Alla Vagner https://soundcloud.com/maiia_303 Mastered by Edward Cybered at Manifold Mastering Studio manifold-studio.com/eng/

  5. Artist: Sab Kuch Milegator Title: Surrounded By Surreality Release: March 15, 2018 Label: Aint no Label could handle this (Self Release) Tracklist: Surrender to Surreality Intro Extrapyramidal Twerking On A Pyramid (RMX): Twistortion Rodeo Caramel Carousel: First you, then others & Third eye The Point Of No Yes No (Overwrite Engaged) Disorient Express Gringrinder The words ‘forest’ and ‘suomi’ never drop down in my Ecosia (Yea i save the trees) suggestion bar. One would have to assume that this is entirely due to me never having searched for those genre’s. One would be right. Then along came Klaus Akan Tea? Kaos Aiken Tah? Kana Nakan Tea? Kauas Aikain Taa! Its Kauas Aikain Taa alright. Along it came, it took 4 attempts over 3 months to wrap my head around it (I’m a slow learner), but once I got there it was well worth my time. Now Sab Kuch Milegator is back with the much more pronounceable and equally as danceable Surrounded by Surreality. With a front cover that the Astral Projection guy couldn’t fault, we are off to a good start. Surrender to Surreality Intro: Love me an intro. Love me an intro that lasts a bit longer and goes to stranger places. But this a niggly little niggle that we shouldn't dwell on. Still nice to have an intro to begin with. Extrapyramidal Twerking On A Pyramid (RMX): Did you know that Extrapyramidal was a real word? I did not. Slightly less weird than the original, i’d say more refined and a little less exciting as a result, first song of the album though so it’s really just warming us up. Twistortion Rodeo: Rick coming at cha, which is fitting because with more Rick comes more madness. Twistortion Rodeo delivers big time. Entrancing atmospheres surround you from start to finish. The 4 minute break is appreciated, always love a little broken beat. Caramel Carousel: SKM brings it down a notch with a slightly less crazy first act of the song. We got 9 minutes though, I wouldn’t expect it to stay this way. A more build focused track with some beautiful little background things going on. The voice samples, as always fit perfectly and before you know you’re lost in another one of Sab Kuch’s mental trips. First You, Then Others & Third Eye: ‘Oh hey dad’ ‘No, nothings wrong i’m just listening to music’ ‘No nothings wrong, yes this is music’ ‘Well everything is just sounds really’ ‘yea but the weird noises make melodies and create a rhythm’ ‘No i’m not trying to be clever’ ‘No please don’t send me back to the therapist! ITS JUST MUSIC!!’ ‘Well at least let me bring my headphones along’ This is the weirdness I like. Neat track name, neat little intro. A smooth ass track that’s really quite easy to get lost in. You could be forgiven for thinking that a 12 minute track could get old fast, today we forgive all. The Point Of No Yes No (Overwrite Engaged): Another great track name leads us into the darker realm of frequencies. What would we do without Rick and Morty samples? What would we do without Sabby K. The song really explodes into awesomeness at the 7 minute mark, love it. Disorient Express: My god these track titles are hot. Less twists and turns in this song but a solid Goa lead sits in the back throughout the track. One of my favourites. Gringrinder: The ultimate antidote to the bullshit Christmas cheer we all endure at the end of the year. Then again, Scandi christmas is a little darker than us out West (and the Fins, if we can really consider them Scandinavian, are the darkest of all. better sense of humor too). All these little social factors come together in this track. Also, you don’t hear a lot of explicit language in trance, which only just occurred to me now. Sab Much Milegator comes through with easily the most well planned thoughtful album to date. Negatives of this are you miss out on some of that suomi madness that we got blasted with in Kauas Aikain Taa, if like me you are the sort of person who relishes in confusion you come out of this a little less so. Positives (and there are many) are that for someone like Tsotsi, this meticulous crossing of genres creates an unrivaled listening experience. There's no point in me rating this as every piece of Goa I listen to sounds amazing to me. But what about Suomi and Forest? Well that’s a different story, no one i know (and i know three artists) nails this like Sir’ Kuch. The crossing over of genre’s, the patience, the vision in the tracks, it’s all there. I Insta purchased without regret, and based on the last two albums from the Milegator will continue to do so. https://sabkuchmilegator.bandcamp.com/album/surrounded-by-surreality

  10. Artist: Celestial Intelligence Album: Perpetual Energy Label: Suntrip Records Tracklist: 1. Into The Depths Of Illusion 2. Divine Miracles 3. Constant Motion 4. Anapa 5. Celestial Beings 6. 1001 Reasons 7. Gray Matter 8. A Different Story 9. Perpetual Energy "Perpetual Energy" is not just the album title, it is also a disclaimer. The debut album from Celestial Intelligence is big, loud and brazen, an almost non-stop blast of excellent goa, where so much is fit into the productions that it seems not the slightest bit more could be added but details are never sacrificed, always crystal-clear and never overlooked in this maelstrom of careening dance-floor bliss. One highlight would certainly be the E-Mantra-esque "A Different Story" that creates a warm and inviting world of sound but still includes enough oomph to live up to the "Perpetual Energy" promise. Perhaps the track is a stand-out because it dares to go down a different path from most everything else on the album. The top moments here belong to the three-track block of "Constant Motion," "Anapa" and "Celestial Beings." The energy never relents but there is pure bliss in this chaos. Suited well for a sunny festival afternoon this would be that special 25-minutes where time and space disappear and the plot about everything you may know anything about is completely lost. The worst thing about this album would be "1001 Reasons" and that poor track suffers simply by having the misfortune of playing after the aforementioned trio. To say Celestial Intelligence has made a great debut album sounds a bit insulting, as if it is suggesting that a veteran's album would be more worthy of your time. With tastefully gleeful mayhem, Celestial Intelligence has made a great album. Period. Listen to Celestial Intelligence - "Constant Motion": https://soundcloud.com/celestial-intelligence/celestial-intelligence-constant-motion Edit: As the days go on it seems more and more focus is put on the mastering of the album rather than the music itself. It seems quite a few feel the album is too loud and it detracts from the overall experience. I have not encountered any such problem and maybe most non-technical listeners will not either. The sound is clear to these ears, the lines between the layers are clearly drawn and it is easy to skip between any layer on any given track. There are some beautiful melodies contrasted, to my utter fascination, by an energy flow that never stops in one place for very long. If it is too loud, well, I do not agree. It is just loud enough to suit the album adequately. Those of the other point-of-view, unfortunately, may be missing out on a very good experience. This music is fantastic!
  11. Artist: Psychowave Title: Chronicles ep Label: Spacedock Records Date: July 27, 2018 1. Elephants In Pocitos 2. Fight Like A Woman 3. Life Waves Psychowave has produced two tracks which have found their way into my favourite list. His ear for melody and production technique is a treat and sends me into euphoria every time I listen. The new ep comes complete with some pretty artwork done by Natan himself and 3 tracks containing plenty of funk. Elephants In Pocitos - Not as many elephant sounds as I was expecting but still a well produced song thats got a fat baseline and trip atmospheres abound. Fight Like A Woman - Yea declare a never ending battle that you can escape from at any moment but subject your enemy to at any moment at your discretion. Yea that’ll do it. Great trippy song with good development and huge drums pounding away. Life Waves - A quick lesson on waves and a great collection of melodies intertwined with one another. My favourite of the three but just by a hair. This aint no Sunshine Reborn, but a less melodic more psychedelic trippier blast into happy land. Well done to SpaceDock for their continued support of a great artist, who has managed to avoid the norm of the Brazilian psytrance scene and produce Goa blasters. The title of the album suggests more eps to come in the same vein, I'm looking forward to those insta-buys. https://spacedockrecords.bandcamp.com/album/sddg014-psychowave-chronicles-ep
  12. Artist: Ephedra Title: What The Future Brings Label: Goa Madness Records Release: May 18, 2018 Tracklist: - 1. In Search Of Flying Saucers 2. Flying Into The Night 3. Twisted Keys 4. Machiavellin? 5. Savannah Monk Trail (Ephedra & Imba) 6. Cosmic Collaboration (Proxeeus & Ephedra) 7. Return To the N Life 8. Deep inside Feelings 9. Floating Souls Ok whats going with you bunch? Triquetra, Morphic Resonance, Sab Kuch, Lectro Spectral, Geomagnetic/Timewarp comps and the rest of the 2018 release gang (you're all great) and now Ephedra. You graduate from middle school? Finally got yourselves real jobs? Get yourselves married? Have a couple of kids? Cause 2018 has been a year of mature music. A year of well thought out, technical bangers that have got me hitting puberty. Now Ephedra comes in to bring to add a little extra flavour. To show that the big boys know when to hold back till just the right point, when to build but not explode, when to reserve their tracks to create anticipation, when to just make nice sounds and not stress about all the hooha. 2018 got us all grown up. In search of Flying Saucers - UFO's. mystery. space. aliens. New Mexico the home of the Roadrunner. The kick Is hot the leads are perfectly reserved coming in and out but never to insane. This is the patience Im talking about. A really really good track. Flying Into The Night - a little break beat introduces us into spacier and faster feeling track. The leads twirl and slice away in the back, being brought forward at perfect moments as the rest of the track balances out. The melody is infectious as its shot at you over and over again. The track is pure hyperspace listening material, put it on and before you know it you’ve reached galaxy NGC 7320 All Aboard Twisted Keys - we don’t slow down here, a short moody intro keeps the journey rolling. Little tribal drum taps in the background are beat out with the lightest of fingers before leads takes centre stage & zip us away. Once again Ephedra balances the elements and layers out with exquisite grace. Nothing in this song is monotoned & just as you think the frenzy has ended Ephedra takes it up a notch and finishes with some great knob fiddles. Machiavellian - Ah señor Niccolò, the espouser of the old greek and roman value systems as well as the man that had the personality trait of deceit, self interest and manipulation named after him. The only manipulation in this song is that of Ephedra’s tools over your brain. Ephedra darkens things up a bit while keeping a coherent flow throughout the song. A perfect track for workplace craftiness, backstabbing a trusted confidant and dancing in any dark location of your picking. Epehdra & Imba - Savannah Monk Trail - Love the choral vocals and the drums in the intro. Another cool baseline and kick combo then takes us off to a happier place where elastic leads extend in and out. More squelches, an elephant and tribal chants set this track apart from the others. Imba and Ephedra’s mojo works in fine balance with each other, proven as the track increases in intensity from start to finish. A fav Ephedra and Proxeeus, Cosmic Collaboration - I gotta say I was excited when I saw these two together on a track, even more so the the title suggested that these two came up with some sweet sweet hallucinogenic Himalayan Cliff Bee Mad honey for us all to sip on. They did, much more melodic than I expected while still completely psychedelic and of course totally banging, another welcome and successful combination of talent. Return to the N Life - A title that would also work well for an Ice Cube album, Return to the N life takes us back into the land of classic ephedra. Another mature track that despite not really standing out I would still play at any party, yea even my nephews 6th birthday party. Once again Ephedra shows a lot of skill with his instruments and thought in production. Deep Inside Feelings - Ephedra gets all sentimental and opens up his electrifying feelings to us. I love when he strips the baseline away, a metaphor for his struggle to balance an minimalist life with the pressure to succeed (I don’t know, sounds cool though). The song is hot hot hot but nothing prepares you for whats next. Floating souls - The closing track. What's it gonna be? Which way will he take this? Many questions and only one answer. Ecstasy. Ephedra takes us away from all earthly feelings and into a land of the beyond. I don’t know exactly what it is….Yes I do, the intensity, leads, melody, dreamy floatiness and all the other things that make Goa trance just so incredible. This goes up there with Experiments into some of my favourite Goa trance tracks of all time. That’s that, what I will call a perfectly balanced album. This is by far my favourite Ephedra album, the patience in the track development all the way to the actual track development really stand out here. It’s a skill that comes with experience and with 3 albums under his belt it seems like Ephedra is getting plenty of that. Like all good middle school graduations, Ephedra has matured his sound into something completely delightful for the ears. Big shout out to Goa Madness for their support of great artists and 3 big blasting Ephedra albums. https://goamadnessrecords.bandcamp.com
  13. Hi all, Perhaps this question has been asked a while ago, but I can't find it. I'm interested in a statistic of you guys/girls frequenting goa parties. Here in Belgium there are parties every weekend (it seems), but I go to 1-2 parties per year (I'm 42 btw)? I have to say that the more I go, the more I love goa and its scene. The vibe is so great at parties. So I do intend to go more and more. I'm still a newbie. :-) How often do you go? You like small parties or big festivals? Can you describe the atmosphere? A.
  14. Artist: Fractal Vivesection Album: Through The Vortex Label: Timewarp Release November 25, 2013 There's something deeply alluring about the sort of main room goa trance that Fractal V put out on this album. If Goa was the sort of genre that had big 6 month promotions for stadium shows in capitol cities, Fractal V would be headlining. This is full power orchestral trance that blasts you through vortex after vortex with non stop energy pulsing through you. The use of vocals is Al Dente, the looping in some parts of the song could come across as repetitive to some but for me it just adds to the intensity of the builds. The variety between tracks is just right with each one being equally as uplifting as the last. Interplanetary Voyage - Alarmingly sweet. We are introduced to the album, and before we know it shot into interplanetary space. An entrancing album opener that leaves me open for more. Traveling Apart - Diffidently amazing. an absolute orchestral treat for our ears. We have guitar, strings and vocals, with nothing overused. My favourite on the album for sure with full jumping up and down a part of the package. Interstellar Gliding - Shockingly good, i love the phaser sounds at the start, cutting through the air like it aint a thing. The singing comes through the same, cutting its way above the track and floating through the air. One of my favourite tracks on the album. My Name is Trance - Terribly enjoyable. The vocals lift me up and send me floating through trance land. The main lead is a little much after a while but when it leaves the rest of the song doesn't let up and carries it self forward right to a beautiful end. Molecular Instability - Appallingly ethereal. Here i was thinking that this album was going to be full of lightness. What a goofball, Space isn't full of light. In fact there is more darkness than anything in this universe. More nothing than something. Unlike this track which is most certainly more something than nothing, sneaky little guitar. You'll see. Distant Echos - Fearfully soft. Love a long intro, love organic instruments, love builds. love the main break, love the echos. All Bueno over here Tachyon - Hopelessly wonderful. The string instruments are a treat and leave a little hoping for what is to come. And they do come back in all their grace. Subconscious Flashback - Timorously pleasant. FV comes in with a slower softer track. The leads go on for like 168 bars before changing, very cool track with a little bit of something special making me raise my hands to the sky all the way to the end. Travelling Apart (Part 2) -Diffidently sensational. A floating outro eases us out of the many vortex's we have been shot through. 3:18 isn't quite enough to slow my heartbeat down but it's a start. Timewarp are tricky to navigate. You find an album, you earmark it for later and before you know it 3 more albums are out that require attention. Then Neogoa release something that is obviously going to poke at you till you give it a listen. Before you know it your 'to listen' list is taking up too many Giga bits and you gotta start fresh. Into the Vortex was a complete chance listen one night before going to bed but which ensured i did not go to bed. A complete surprise. If you are a full powered trance fan who can go an hour without letting themselves up from a punchy kick, then this album is for you. https://timewarprecords.bandcamp.com/album/through-the-vortex

Jaraluca: What an opener of this fine compilation. Jaraluca presents a goa monster with a deep bassline and fantastic synth lines. Gradually the track intensifies as the synths go crazy. The synths carry the track. It is so cleverly made. Real climactic goa trance with a hypnotic feel to it. Love it! Boy, would I love to hear it at a party. Jos? Fiery Dawn: Fiery Dawn's contribution is a slow starter and a rather linear track. Although it gets a bit more interesting after the 6 min mark, it's not a (big) climax. It's an easier track to rest a bit. I was hoping for some surprises, but I'm left hungry. Clementz: Hints of acid hypnotically injecting your brain. This sounds good! Gradually the track goes into melodic style while keeping the acid lines in the background. Quite a relaxing and pleasant morning track here, but when played out loud could cause some damage in the final run where everything comes together. Nervasystem: Shit, this is a demonous track. Slowly it grabs you, hypnotizes you. There are pads, acid blips, whatever you want. But they're connected in such a way that a hypnotizing track is made. One hypnotizing section after another. Not sure why the voice is talking about some molecule called ribos instead of ecstacy. Ha! Wonderful blistering finale where synths meet pads meet acid! Mania: Shit, why does this have to sound like it's 1996? I mean, the ingredients are there. Spiralling synths, a rolling bassline... But the kick is so dry and pale. There is not enough thickness in the track for me to really enjoy it. Guess that's the oldschool vs newschool thingie. I miss the deeeeep bass. Not bad, but not my style. Proxeeus: Yes, fucking yes. We have reached the 10 min long holy grail of this compilation. Ladies and chaps, Proxeeus is here! Where on his 2 albums he mainly explores (successfully) 303 sounds, this track has it all. Dancefloor madness it is. Right from the first second I am immersed in overwhelming sounds. Then the bassline crushes my skull. The goa train has left the station! Lots of laser sounds and lovable melodic synths is what this track is all about. The personality of this track is immense. It's like Proxeeus had a vision, a thought, and melted it into music. Only the truly blessed can do this. Oh yes, and there is acid 303 madness too. Lots of them. Jos! Play this shit at OiG XXII. Omg I die. Melodeep: A sweet oriental-influenced goa number surrounded by acid. Makes me think of Antares or Ra 9th Style. Very sweet on the ears and definitely on repeat here. Lots of details in the background if you listen carefully. The melody comes into play at certain points in the track and give it a very personal feel. I catch myself humming it after a while. Likey! Clementz: Clementz hits hard with this track from the start. Hardly no intro, just cuts right to the chase. Fantastic goa synths are all over the place, carried by deep basswork. I would go nuts on the dancefloor! Aqueous sounds and acid blips push the track forward into the next mayhem. Yep, dance material here. Ace! Atlantis: I'm gonna admit it right away. I'm in love with this track. It doesn't go crazy with loud chaotic sounds. No, it exists and intrigues purely because of its hypnotising ability. The bassline is very addictive and always present. My head is nodding up and down because of it. The bassline is surrounded by acid and bubbles and this for more than 9 minutes. It's an unstoppable bulldozer. Grooovy! Spectrum, Ion Vader: A pussy would end an uptempo compilation with a downtempo track. But DJ Lurfilur is not a pussy. No sir. Another uptempo goa track to finish the album. Perhaps it is the madness of the former tracks that leaves me unimpressed with this last track. Very instrumental, sterile and linear. Not strong, but good for winding down from what we've heard before. DJ MIX A a bonus, we get a DJ Mix by DJ Lurfilur, who mixes all these tracks together for a good hour of non stop goa madness. And a well crafted mix it has become. Congrats man! Conclusion: A must have compilation. Timewarp is sometimes hit and miss, but this is a hit. And DJ Lurfilur has proven to be a connoisseur of compiling goa albums. Hail! Buy links: Bandcamp Beatport Psyshop
  16. Title: Altering the Synaptic Controllers Artist: Ufomatka Label: Sentimony Records Release: 2 January 2018 Tracklist: 1. Multiplexer 2. Alien Controlled Human Exterminator 3. Fornax Cluster 4. Warper-mutator 5. Weird Species Sentimony records really summed this release up better than I ever could. "The release name came from nowhere and the dick knows what it is, but it will all fuck us out Get it now and have fun! " It fucked me out the first time I heard it. It's nice to see Goa artists step outside of the comfort zone of traditional 4 on the floor structures and just let loose with their tools. only 3 songs here are really Goa, the other 2 are more Break Beat, sloa styled fuck knows what (Like the track titles).... But they're interesting to say the least. Oh and quite good. 1. Multiplexer - Our journey begins a pretty radical baseline, simple but radical. The track plods along nicely reaching what we could call some sort of climax around the last act of the song. This EP is clearly gonna get points for standing out from what has been released recently. 2. Alien Controlled Human Exterminator - A bouncier track with analog leads pumping out at us as it goes along. The intensity builds quite nicely as random squelches and sounds keep things interesting. Ufo doesn't over use anything and keeps it fresh. 3. Fornax Cluster - The most melodic of the tracks so far. Funky baselines, pure analog shooting us into the unexplored dimensions of dirty space. What? you thought space was all magical and pretty. Well Ufomatka proves us wrong here. Acid drenched planets wizz by as our spaceship wipes grime from its windows. Beautiful in its own way. 4. Warper-mutator - Our hyperspace intergalactic travels have flown right down. Stuck now in the grease dripping, uninhabited bogs of another world, Ufomatka continues our journey. Very trippy track, the pa rum pa rum rum of the percussion really stands out for me. Analog AF. 5. Weird Species - The strangest of the tracks, about as alien as it can get. I feel myself floating through the final canals of our journey. As soon as it appears as though I might make it through to the other side I end up where I started. Looking at this weird species that managed to find itself here, altering synaptic controllers. Thats it folks. A truly wild and weird ride through Ufomatka's soundscapes. His creativity really stands out here and those of you that love pure rough analog, boy oh boy get a taste of this. While rough around the edges (I believe it was meant to be) you've got something here that really does stand out from what I've heard not only Ufomatka release but other artists in this genre. Keep it up amigo. https://sentimony.bandcamp.com/album/ufomatka-altering-the-synaptic-controllers
