  1. The amateur goa and psytrance community online suffers abit from being spread too thinly over too many websites and pages and not getting enough attention from goa/psy heads - always getting trumped by trance or some other genre of music that the fanboys will swamp over to http://www.acidplanet.com/music.asp?M=0&T=2417 There is one site called Acidplanet which is a friendly enough place for producers to put up their music. You'll notice immediately that there is alot of music on there from virtually every genre. In addition the majority of the people there are producers, mainly amateur but also some pros. The good part about that is that when people critique your music they know what they are talking about usually and can offer more than just "I like it" or "I don't like it". There is abit of a psy/goa community over there which I've inevitabely become a part of simply due to putting my music on there when I first joined 2 years ago. However, the community could definately be bigger and definately have more listeners. Theres some really good music there, hang around for abit and see which names get the most attention, you'll be bound to hear something you haven't heard before. So this is my call to make acidplanet aware to Psynewsers or vice versa - if you have an Acidplanet page, link it here and I'll make a list. If not, what're you waiting for? There are no anoying limits like other sites have and you can upload as many of and as much as you want, might as well collect your music in one place to show. I will start off the list and reorganize it as more people add to it. Additionally, if someone finds an artist page at acidplanet that they like, feel free to share it here so other people can check it out. ----Acidplanet.com Artist Pages---- Mindcrawlers - Goa and Psytrance.
  2. Yeah I like this! Oldschool but with some innovations with atmosphere and FX. Get yourself an acidplanet page www.acidplanet.com the goa community over there could really use some growth.
  3. Great to see you join the psy/goa community at acidplanet I'll get you started with some reviews.
  4. Indeed thats exactly what it is. The best advice for making a song is to stop trying to do it and just do it, there is no step-by-step formula and each artists comes up with their own way of doing things.
  5. Haha, yes but I advized "Mystic Green" or Mystical Green, something alone those lines When I see the word Greenscape I think of landscape...and a green one, so that name works good with me. The k throws it off abit but you've got time to think about it I'm going to have a name change when I go solo again (should be soon, atleast for a debut track... I'm working on some amazing material) and am in need of a new name. I liked the concept of having the name be an adjective for green since green is my favorite color, but then I realized your last name is Green so you'd be a better person for a name like that . Cosmosgenisis, I really appreciate the support you're giving the acidplanet artists If you'd like to gather us all over here, it would be great if you could start reviewing songs you like overthere and linking to psynews to make people aware of this forum.
  6. Well, if you registered a free acount at acidplanet you could download music. Actually what could happen is someone could register a psynews.org account and give out the password here and everyone could use it publically to save the hastle of making personal accounts - thats a good idea I think. Ever since mp3.com went down there hasn't been one good place for people to put their music. Acidplanet is great since there is no limit and the comments, chart, and review community are all helpful to the artists there. Beatbiz.net is another good place run by Dave (Infinite Dimensions) but its still small for now...which is both a good and bad thing. Acidplanet however remains a center for amateur producers, both good and bad. We were talking about creativity a while ago... I believe there is alot of interesting things in the goa/psytrance community at acidplanet, styles and themes you don't hear. Its great to see people expiramenting and not following a formula, or better yet for you to be able to recognize their style. Some great artists I've discovered through acidplanet are Structural Mind Engine, Smily Pixie, Message to EarthNuxx, Lost Disciple, Psychoactive (now known as PsyAct), Digitalsam (if you love Hallucinogen or that style of music, you will love Digitalsam's music), Infinite Dimensions, Skyeye..., Psyrius, Mindcrawlers, Tempestuous G... Heck theres so much to download from there, Like I said, a psynews.org account at acidplanet would be a good idea, everyone can log into it and the download link will work for everyone. Someone better go make one I've heard alot of promising the things, the only thing keeping them back is that no one knows about it and no one has any direction or incentive to push their style because we're all considered lucky enough to get just 200 listens for a song.
  7. Thats my opinion on Filteria too. Khetzal on the otherhand is much better but he also suffers from ripping the 1997 style almost exactly, though I did like the themes he explored.
  8. I first started listening to goa trance and indeed all other electronic music 4 years ago when I stumbled on a track called Dancing Galaxy by Astral Projection, I was amazed and I wanted more music like that, and from there I've been building up my collection of goa and psytrance. No I don't think anyone's been listening to goa trance when they were 8, but that doesn't mean we don't have access to that kind of music right now =] I personally prefer goa trance comming out of 1996 to 1999 as do alot of people here, thats the kind of music I love even though its not being made anymore. However, I don't believe we can get music like that again, I haven't heard much like it after 2000 and if I have it sounds the same as the music back from 10 years ago. I don't know whats in store for goa trance, all I can say for my own music is that its influenced by goa but I believe there are still alot of emotions and concepts that are still unexplored in that style of trance. For goa trance to come back to life there would need to be many more artists showing up that have enough creativity to provide something new to that style, but lately the music I've been hearing has been showing very little creativity...besides maybe darkpsy but I am more interested in happy uplifting melodies rather than dark abnoxiousness
  9. The acidplanet goa community is quite young, yes... I know of alot of people under 20 years that can make some stunning music. I think Message to Earth went pro and he's only 18... as for myself, I'm 17 and so is Psyrius (the other member in Mindcrawlers). We're all quite new but all are quite sure of the kind of music we would like to be hearing.
  10. Yes, he's pure oldschool all the way, and pure FL6 too...alot of 3xosc. You can listen to his music here http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?songs=363519&T=7039 I'll let Jeremy know about this thread
  11. Stalker, we try die you!
  12. The literal difference is that there is none. The theoretical difference is that AMD will actually be better due to higher L1 L2 cache levels, and also an L3 cache that Intel does not have. These memory caches on the chip store the information for the processor to process and communicate it back to the memory and from there it goes to the rest of your computer. Intel however, will be better at rendering or long CPU events, but again, the difference will be in a couple of seconds - and only if you have the fastest Intel Chip. www.tomshardware.com For the record - using sequencers would count as "multimedia" =P due to the heavy load on memory usage swapping sounds and graphics in the sequencer as well as well as all the VSTis and buffering their sounds and all this and that.
  13. Damn thats gonna put NHJO out of business...
  14. Audio clips used to work differently and they wouldn't do note scaling where as the sampler would. Audio clips are also set up to cut out if you play another note from the same clip while a note is already playing.
  15. where to abc sinesynth patch-get?

  17. I know exactly what you mean with the sad yet happy melodies... and that track from astral projection I believe is the most trance-inducing track I have heard, there is no other song that you can get so lost up in, for everyone else... try listening to that with closed eyes and just try, try to guess how much time has passed since you started listening or what part of the song you're at (middle beginning or end)... its very hard and you'll be entertained by your results.
  18. lmao, rayoflead and quickrave sound killer, whatever they are.
  19. I believe it was called Travelling about a month ago, it was on your site. This one is different but if it was intended as a different track they sound too similar. Your music is inspired by Astral Projection, I can tell that much, but I wouldn't say its like them, I can hear more originality However, what I notice is that your goa and the melodies that you use are of the wonderful kind that are sad, but at the same time they make you smile, they're very...sonically beautiful I'm very much interested in hearing more, what are your plans as a producer, what can we expect from you?

The BBC documentary on LSD 25, its abit old but all the samples for LSD came from that documentary, as well as a few for some other songs I'm sure.
  21. if your're looking for some emotional psychedelic music, goa trance isn't even the right genre I recommend some Ozric Tentacles if you're looking for emotional melodies
  22. Why does Erez look so sad?
  23. Your music is beautiful. I heard an earlier version of this track about a month ago, I can notice alot of good changes Keep making this wonderful music!
  24. This is great man! Really liking the originality, good job, its a sweet track, very dark, the repetitive industrial effects really add an edge to it. My only complaint is the samples and synths(? - they sound like samples) are really murky and unclear, sounds like their sources were low bitrates... or I don't know if the murkey sound was intended, IMO would sound much better if they were clearer, especially around 3000-6000hz
  25. Moved to Music Promotion http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?showforum=72 Production is pretty good man, nice levels, synths aren't pro or anything but certainly mixed and FXed good 2:25 - dude thats a terrible build up, very awkward, I would't do that there or drop out everything like that, a pad could help smooth things out very much. Otheriwse the music is full-on like you say, nothing stands out very much but then again I'm not a big fan of full-on, so excuse my bias
