I think this might be what you're looking for, though I can't help with the filenames, I haven't seen these myself but I'll be adding them to my collection... http://www.scene.org/dir.php?dir=%2Fdemos%2Fgroups%2Ftbl%2F

I was just thinking about that while reading this thread There is alot of bad darkpsy out there (but then, is this not true for all genres) but the better ones are IMO liked because they are a different kind of stimulus. Its just another form of intensity, and why it works well with LSD is something I've recently gotten curious about. The reason its appealing is that its simply another form of experience and it offers another form of intensity that some people enjoy. Its not like all people who listen to darkpsy are all black-clothes-wearing evil motherf*ckers who headbang to psyfarts (great term to describe the fx in that music hahaha), there is some truelly psychedelic stuff in darkpsy in my opinion, its very rare, but its still something that captures my eye, or ear I should say (or both... ) And like some people have said here, its not really scary, just obnoxious, I would say its more of a thrill than something scary. If it was scary it would not be doing 150BPM through various dance friendly grooves, if it was to scare your wits they would be doing entirely different things with the music (psykovsky - wooden child)

You will not insult the OTT. Don't listening to dub albums expecting to hear hallucinogen psytrance, my bulgarian friend.

Need proffesional advice/critique on this track

Ok, here is a downtempo but very psychedelic goa track, I'm waiting for some feedback and comments before I upload it to other places for download. listen here -
I thought the goggles were impossible to beat, but Yahel starring passionately into a Robot Yahel's eyes just about does it for me

The first two tracks are the only good ones (though ofcourse no where near Astral style), the rest just butcher themselves and retain nothing of that people associate those tracks with. Really its just another bad psy compilation but with Astral Projection's name on it so it can sell better.
-
So, enlighten me, why are we judging their entire upcomming album based on a 3 minute long sample released on an entirely different CD with entirely different music? You could take it in a positive light and see that they made a full on compilation album so they can introduce to the full-on crowd what their style is and capture the interest of people who aren't familiar with Astral Projection. I mean they haven't had anything new since Amen in 2002, and Ten doesn't count because those were just remixes made by other artists. How about we wait to listen to their new album before immediatly jumping on the "hate Astral Projection because their albums don't sound like they were made in 1993 anymore" bandwaggon.

Yeah, a file on rapidshare expires after a month or so But you can DL from beatbiz, it should let you download without having to register. http://www.beatbiz.net/artist.php?USERID=704

Almost entirely Albino , and Muon Tau 2 for the bassline with a hefty effects chain going through a few phasers to give it that fat sound. After many listens I seem to have come to the same conclusion, the end is drawn out too much and having 2 climaxes is hard to pull off well, but it still was alot of fun making this Psyrius has some really good ideas for melodies and I love the cuts and transitions he can do - although from a technical point the majority of the work and mastering would be my doing (I'd say 75% my work, 25% from my mate comming from what it takes to setup the track initially) Sure, Link me Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated, thank you Pajarico for the tip on the frequencies, I may have to expirament more with me FX to get a powerful sound without too much fullness on the bands... Having said that, there is one more you can comment on, Goa Coaster was a track that was particularly fun to produce since we were wondering how smoothly you can take a track through 3 different styles (and give them apropriate climaxes) while keeping the theme uniform throughout. (serguei I see you've already commented on it in my other thread ) Stream or Download it from here: http://www.beatbiz.net/artist.php?USERID=704 I'll point out readily for you that I'm aware I can pump alot more volume out of that track, I'll have to give a go at mastering it one day. -

Plunge 120BPM chilled goa - It was very fun engineering the FX for this track, this one quasi-mechanical layer at 0:42 is actually the sound of a spoon going against a washing board, pitched down alot, cross delayed, flanged, phasered, 50%sent to another phaser and EQ'd as hell. All the effects in the song are geared towards giving you the feeling of plunging further and further into....well use your imagination... -
Hello all, for the past couple of months I've been working hard on perfecting and refining my style and have been striving to meet the proffesional quality and sound that has been longed for in this scene by myself and many others. Please listen to this track under the Mindcrawlers project. Adrenaline Rush - 149BPM trancey goa done oldschool style (best way to describe it is as up-beat goa trance with elements of trance similar to Astral Projection's music, or atleast the way I do it, if a description is needed to convince you to listen ) An alternate link/download is availible Here on Beatbiz So have a listen and help me out on how I can improve (where improvement is needed). Good critique, not comments on personal taste/opinion, is what would help out most Thanks for listening, if you're interested in more you can checkout Goa Coaster, the first track from Mindcrawlers on Acidplanet or Beatbiz.

Hello Mindcrawlers is a collaboration project between artists Synogen and Psyrius, we're aiming to bring back the classic goa melodies up to modern style in goa and psygoa music. Check us out at http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?songs=430059&T=9130Acidplanet[/url]. Adrenaline Rush - 149 BPM fast paced goa trance Goa Coaster - 145BPM psy, darkpsy, and goa done in an evolving theme. Thank you to all here who told me I had potential under my Synogen project and encouraged me to improve More tracks are on the way. P.S. Alternatively you can listen to Mindcrawlers at Beatbiz.net http://www.beatbiz.net/artist.php?USERID=704

What the fuck? In America anytime someone wants something to sound philosophical, scientific or sophisticated its done in a british accent (I speak generally, not for music samples) That'd be the most logical reason IMO, most samples they use just come like that, its not usual for Skazi to go out and look for vocalists to record for his remixes.

Wat's the best software to make psytrance?
Aeros replied to CutoffKnob's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Indeed, thats the best advice Use whatever you're most comfortable with and most interested in, good music isn't up to the program to make, its up to you And for those doubting FL, this track and all subsequent tracks of that project (working on 2 right now) are produced entirely in FL. Muon Tau and some EQ works wonders -
Final version released here http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=652186&T=885 Its got a better more melodic ending now.

Wheres the bass -
Hey everyone, thanks for the feedback For the past couple of days I've been working on this... http://rapidshare.de/files/6212641/Synogen...oaster.mp3.html 145 BPM - The first half of it is psytrance, the ending half is all goa....see if you can figure out why I called it Goa Coaster The song is very dynamic jumping from style to style to style. I'm extremely happy with how well the song turned out - this my friends is what happens when you decide to stop using the native synths in Fruity Loops and use real ones! Muon Tau for the bassline, Albino for most other synths, Vanguard for trancey highlights, and Sytrus layered with some TS404 for some goa stuff towards the end. Please check it out and let me know what you think, I'm looking forward to hearing from manuser and shaft who've been quasi-following my progress here and patient enough to drop a few comments letting me know so This isn't the final version by the way, the delay lamma vocals are too low I think and theres still some polish and mastering that needs to be done.

place a note, then click the end of it and drag left until its 1/16th in lenth, and then click that and place it every 1/16th note (16 of them will fill up the measure) and articulate them however you'd like, or just leave it like that for killlargh full on madnessses

Get Goldwave, its free and much better than cool edit if you want "something lame like that" www.goldwave.com -
I've been trying and failing miserably for an even longer time than you I'm sure I use Fruity Loops, this song uses two tweaked (well..everything is tweaked) pads from FM7 and the nice plucky highlights are this synth I love and use in every song I made from Sytrus and another one used in here from Albino (its the last synth that plays before the song ends if you want to recognize it). The 303 and bassline and most everything else is TS404 Alot of people think Fruity is an inadequate program, and to be honest I don't disagree, it takes alot of care to push and maximize sound quality (but then I'm sure the same applies for other software too) - however the comfort and ease of use is what wins me over so I can spend more time on melodies and composition...or maybe I'm just impacient to learn Reason and Cubase when I'm happy enough with the meager songs I can put together with FL. I guess when I feel I can learn and improve no more with FL, i'll switch over to Cubase (I really don't like Reason's lack of support for VSTi) In reality though I think all three progams, FL, Reason and Cubase can give you good results if you just know how to use them, I'd really like to get into Cubase later on and once you learn one of these programs, learning the others shouldn't be much work since you already recognize the theory and practice behind it. And apologies psynewsers, heres an MP3 I typically try to get people to listen off acid planet since that raises my # of listens and raises me on the charts - therefor giving me more exposure and potentially more input http://rapidshare.de/files/5576209/Synogen_-_Onyx.mp3.html

I hope its recieved well Click Here to have a go at it and hear it.

Aeros replied to CutoffKnob's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Try them all, see what you're most comfortable with After learning the ropes in FL and the basics of composition it'll be a good idea to start learning to use Reason or Cubase. It'll be slow and difficult but after a year or two of hard work you'll be a master at the game (or atleast the programs) - but whatever program you use there is no magic button or knob that'll make your stuff sound good - for that you need to do alot of hardwork. -
A Perfect Symmetry (new track)
Aeros replied to Aeros's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Hmm, this was the first track I've done that tries unique rythms like this with a dub style bassline, can you describe better how its not smooth? I plan a simmilar but more melodic and goa sound for part 2.
