  1. Well, I hope that at some point the names will be revealed, especially so that we can give proper credit for the final two tracks.
  2. I don't usually follow this genre, but here's an album I stumbled across that might be relevant: Vincent Lemarchand - Le Voyage d'Er http://lemarchand.bandcamp.com/album/le-voyage-der
  3. Just tracked down this album. I liked Perspective, Playtime Adventure, and Psychedelic Exp. The other tracks, not much. (The digital album is currently available at Beatport.)
  4. He's done a bunch of EPs, plus a pretty good album on Timewarp Records: Psy Trance Powers My Space Engines http://timewarprecords.bandcamp.com/album/psy-trance-powers-my-space-engines
  5. John Wick First 10 minutes are slow, but non-stop after that. Classic revenge movie. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2911666/
  6. Now on Bandcamp http://zion604records.bandcamp.com/album/robotized-album-zion604cd011
  7. 2Minds are two brothers from Israel, Miki and Shauli Ifrah. I recently discovered this album after I heard an old 2Minds track (remixed) on the new Skizologic album and decided to see what else they've done. Although they've been around for a number of years, 2013 seems to be the period when they really move up to a new weight class. This is a double album. The first 8 tracks are good but not great psy trance. I found "Deep And Warm" one of the stronger tracks, but "Vintage" and "Goa Land" a little more problematic. Overall, I would rate these tracks roughly 7 / 10. The remaining 7 tracks (AKA 2Minds In Dub) are the real gold. I would describe these tracks as more mid-tempo than downtempo. One of the tracks, "Evil Echo", appeared on VA - Flight 604. The tracks change direction frequently, and the breaks don't always work, but the music is interesting and the producers sound confident with their material. There's no holding back and if you don't like it, tough shit. I rate these tracks 8.5-9 / 10. Definitely worth a listen. http://beatspace-geomagnetic.bandcamp.com/album/2-minds-wave-shell-geomagnetic
  8. Very good album already available early last week on some of the file sharing sites. I can't figure out Zion 604's release strategy.
  9. Since I usually ignore progressive I was initially skeptical of the crossover, but this EP is actually pretty good. Upon further investigation I also discovered three more Imaginarium EPs issued within the last year: Singularity (Tip Records), Nature Of Consciousness (BMSS), and Intoxicated (Digital Om). http://classic.beatport.com/release/singularity-ep/1294406 http://bmssrecords.bandcamp.com/album/nature-of-consciousness http://digitalom.bandcamp.com/album/intoxicated The first two are stronger than the third.
  10. I liked Nuclear Fusion and the two Solar System tracks. The rest, not so much.
  11. I just discovered that red wine burns when it comes out through your nose.
  12. This is one of his best tracks yet.
  13. Sometimes you hear an album just once and you know it's fantastic. No confirmation is required. I had that experience with Chromosome - DMT Cowboys. Ritual To The Light, however, takes a while to appreciate, probably because of the track lengths. I have now listened to the whole album 4 or 5 times, and think it's an early addition to my future "best of 2015" list. This is an impressive debut.
  14. Dissociactive and Sorrowmurk (a former project member) have been two of my best (late) discoveries in recent months: Total Transformation (http://shop.sunstation.ru/album/dissociactive-total-transformation) Blast From The Past (http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/dissociactive-vs-sorrowmurk-blast-from-the-past) The Origin (http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/sorrowmurk-the-origin)
  15. This may be a good example of why some producers would do better by sticking to shorter EPs rather than longer albums. I think EPs are a better way to master studio and compositional skills rather than attempting an entire album too soon. (BTW, I also think that too many producers jump to long track lengths before they've mastered short ones, which are actually harder.)
  16. Crossing Mind - The Inner Shift. Some of the tracks are so shrill and harsh that I just can't listen to the album, even though I know the guy has talent. If I had lower expectations then I probably wouldn't have cared or been disappointed.
  17. Thanks for the review. I've never really paid attention to Via Axis until I read your write-up above. After listening to all the tracks a few times I would rate EOO as a very solid album, but not a masterpiece. IMO, some of the tracks are just too long and become repetitive. This might be a good thing for live performance, but not so much for listening at home. However, Via Axis is clearly talented. 8-8.5 / 10
  18. I like tracks 2-6, but usually skip the first and last tracks.
  19. Many of the best 2014 albums are actually re-releases of older material, but here's my list: UPTEMPO 1 - Moonweed - Voice Of Jupiter 2 - VA - Moon Ritual 3 - Shakta - Retroscape 4 - Omnivox - Fragments Of Evolution 5 - Ovnimoon & Rigel - Omnipresent Technology 6 - Morphic Resonance - Chromatic World
  20. Thanks for the mention of Total Transformation (http://shop.sunstation.ru/album/dissociactive-total-transformation). A really good album. I'm also enjoying other Dissociactive music available from Ektoplazm: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/dissociactive-vs-sorrowmurk-blast-from-the-past http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/dissociactive-underwater-lab-ep
