  1. Slinky Nuns - Shitty Stick (Better than a Poke in the Eye with a) I always thought this was a moral and helpful message about life...
  2. yeah, I can appreciate that feedback. I actually considered dropping it because it's a bit too new and sort of changes the vibe too much. I kind of kept it in due to the sample, but maybe I should have trimmed it a bit more. I also almost included but felt that it would have been far too much downtempo at the beginning of the mix
  3. Figured it out. It's because I was using a "—" in the topic line instead of a "-" I guess it doesn't like non-traditional characters
  4. [::::download::::] [:::::mixcloud:::::] (1hr40min/320MP3/242.8MB/©2016) Genre: Psychedelic UFO Alien Contact Goa Trance Goa Trance and aliens are about as perfect of a combination as one could ever muster. They dance symbiotically through science and pseudoscience, the cosmic unknown always teasing the fringe curiously, some understanding of the joke and others believing in it. I spent well over a decade hosting radio shows and even more time making a multitude of mixes for the listening (dis)pleasure of those whom would want to go on a journey with me. When I was approached this past spring to put together a radio show for Space Toilet Radio, I was kind of stumped. I wanted to create a journey but I was somewhat out of ideas on themes. I had done so many already. Then it hit me like a the UFO at Roswell. Taking inspiration from a tag team set I played at **GOA PARTY 4** many years back, every track in this mix references those ancient astronomer ancestors who have been coming to Earth to advance our civilization since the beginning of time… (or have they?!)… While I was specifically asked to keep this pre-2000, I admit that I have pushed that guideline a bit. There are a few tracks that reach into the 2000s included in this mix, but the overall heart is classic Goa, which means that the overall heart is that these flying saucers do not fly, they oscillate between dimensions carrying illegal aliens with blue auras using rays and mind control devices coming down to take your friends away. Or maybe not. I guess we’ll find out some other day… xoxox -Goa goaconstrictor.com/music/a-ufo-alien-contact/
  5. If you're not new to Suomi, then this is hard to field. Bandcamp is helpful too... https://antiscarp-records.bandcamp.com https://rytmimystiikka.bandcamp.com/ https://randomrecords.bandcamp.com/ https://spacebabyrecords.bandcamp.com/album/misterika-festival-tree-of-the-life-pt-1
  6. This is why the big name DJs are so bland. They always play the middle of the road stuff because it is none threatening. People don't get offended but they don't go on a journey either. An aside: about fifteen years ago, one of my mates made a shirt that read, "I'm the DJ" on the front, and "not a jukebox" on the back. Was a great gift =)
  7. this thread has taken a wonderful turn towards awesome
  8. Honestly, this is how I feel about most of my favorite music. It's not that it is utter crap when I'm not in the mood, but the best music is made with specific moods and energies in mind. If you try and queue up the wrong album at the wrong time, it is just tragic. At the right time though, it shines. This is why DJing can be a true art form. It takes this understanding and puts it front and center. And this is also why some people find me a polarizing figure. Sometimes my choices for the "right energy" are not inline with everyone else. Sometimes they align greatly but other times I am a bit left of center. Great music is never 100% correct all of the time. That would be middle of the road stuff. Which is why Astral Projection and Infected Mushroom are so well received; absolutely middle of the road quality... ;-) (yes, I am totally trolling for the lulz with that comment)
  9. +1 seriously. I kind of got lost in that blob of stuff ...and then there were nazis... ?! lololololol
  10. The rumors of Ektoplazms demise seem greatly exaggerated. That said, bandcamp is great and the best option for all independent music. Toss is up there as a Pay What You Want and then post some links wherever you wish. Either that or send 2 or 3 of your best tracks to various labels that you think might be the best fit, see if they'll pick you up

  12. My contribution to this topic: Shiwa 2000 - Lonely Man that said, reply to OG poster: No way is BPC - Cyclothymic the saddest trance song! I've always pictured that as just a powerful storm of energy. It's vibrant and alive. It crashes through the chaos of a tsunami and of the hurricanes. I agree that it is powerful and dynamic, but much like Process and Tristan's - Dealing with Demons, I don't find that energy to be sad. It's going through something, it might be troubling, but it isn't melancholic or sad.
  13. O*Men have a great 12" on Nephilim and a somewhat unreleased full album as well
  14. I really love goa. Like, a lot, a lot. But that statement is just really silly
  15. I have two Nu Grebo pop albums on Bandcamp under my Fried Kale moniker The Somnambulating Schematic of the Obstreperous https://friedkale.bandcamp.com/album/the-somnambulating-schematic-of-the-obstreperous and Paint by Numbers https://friedkale.bandcamp.com/album/paint-by-numbers
  16. I'd possibly consider Unlive to be a one-hit wonder They have one absolutely stellar track on Funland Boogie Files (and I guess two other comps, but I've not heard those) and then disappeared. I heard that they had a full album ready to go but nothing happened with it. Wish they did more. and Eupsychia who had one smashing 12" on Shiva Space Technology and then vanished. That 12" still stands out as something special all of these years later
  17. I might. I massively love Darshan and I think I have these somewhere. Sadly, I had a couple of sequential hard drive failures and I lost some stuff. I'll scope and see what I can dig up...
