Do not buy tracks from AGARTHA on Bandcamp - he is a thieve/scammer
RTP replied to Drosophila's topic in General Psytrance
Maybe it helps if more people filed a report at Bandcamp ... I'd say: don't hesitate to do so if you read this thread. Cheers for pointing it out.- 9 replies

I need a new HiFi system ... some input please?
RTP replied to RTP's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Thanks. Yes, I do - the system is from my mate's studio, which he decommissioned. It's bloody brilliant. I can now re-listen to almost every track I ever heard and discover something new. Only have to be careful that the neighbors don't come over - but the fun is, my thinking now reverted from "how can I block the neighbours out with sound dampening" towards "how can I dampen my own sound" ... and that's cool. Plus I thought I'd better invest a bit in good gear than to have the money lying around and inflation take it (I had reserved it for a compilation project which didn't take place and is not going to in that form anyways). I have to say, the sub is pure overkill for what I'm doing here. I frankly don't need it for the home setup at all - in fact, I turn the volume so low it doesn't even activate sometimes. But then there's this stupid idea that I have which will involve a borrowed generator and some other equipment ... and for that it's gonna be useful. If I find no releases I can buy for that peculiar project which I had in mind earlier, I'll be probably trying that idea out... -
I need a new HiFi system ... some input please?
RTP replied to RTP's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Hi ... so here's an update: I now have both of the ways that you suggested to me I have decided to upgrade my computer's audio with the active speakers ... so there's now the old amp in the other room with the traditional HiFi system and the active speakers on the PC. It's a pair of Behringer Truth B2031A and an M-Audio BX10s woofer. Not cheap, but first I bought them used and second I decided to invest a chunk of the money I had reserved for the compilation project - which is currently not happening anyways. The active system is brilliant. I never heard a sound this clear on any audio system I owned previously. Only "problem" I have with it is: I am now at 12% volume and the walls shake. You can bet the neighbors gonna come over in no time if I continue like that -
Brilliant one - thanks for posting, I'd have missed that

Found this guy recently ... good old progressive mixes That's exactly like I had it in the days, proper and good ... people were not standing around on the floor, but dancing - there were no video walls or laser-lit decorations but plain good fluoro backdrops and maybe a bit of flashing spotlights somewhere ... people were often happy, mostly friendly and almost always relaxed - I felt comfortable to just let everything else be for a few hours, dance my butt off and have fun - didn't even drink much because mostly I was already tanked from a prior evening with friends in the city, switched to water some time through the night, went home some time in the morning, birds chirping and - the best: the music continued in my head after I went out, it went on as I went home, sometimes it went on for hours in my head, in a few cases even for more than a day. New tracks manifested in my sleep - stuff that never was heard by anyone but by me who made it up in my head ... it felt good, natural - I thought for sometime even that that is the purpose of this music! Nowadays there's so many breaks and pauses in the tracks that this feeling does not grow inside me anymore. But maybe the breaks are needed for the teenies to shoot some selfies - "uh look friends how cool I am I am going to a Goa Party" - gimme a break ... oh no, there's another one. At least the decos are nice, far more than the amateurish paintings of the past - attractive to look at, but at the same time I don't really know what to make of it, the "cozy" atmosphere of the paintings feels kinda gone... The alternative? Go to the Hitech floor - where the visuals at least meet my memories (dark room, backdrops, people moving) - but the sound is so fast, I become just irritated, giddiness begins, I laugh hysterically and have to sod off, it's unbearable for me to be there any longer than a few minutes ... and the only fun thing afterwards is how slow the music on the mainfloor sounds after I was in there... Well. Somebody give the scene a handclap. It was better. It's not just ramblings. It really was. Gosh, I remember ... in the past the "second floor" was the chill floor. Where people socialized, relaxed, slept ... awesome. Gone now Old Progressive please don't die
-
I think it's mostly somethimes just good inspiration from the artist ... not necessarily from taking any substances. Sometimes, it can be ... but it's nothing else than a painter getting his / her inspiration - some do it with substances, some are just having an idea in their heads - and some may feel inspired by the art of others... Could not resist posting this imo amazing cover art here by the way

Funny, I didn't want to gloss over it ... the Happy Mistakes to me has more Raja Ram vibe so I mentioned the other

I'm excited, but at the same time I'm reminded of all the Deja-Vus I already had of artists that announced a new album on the horizon (it's the fifth?) ... @astralprojection has put it kinda well ... we had this quite a few times arelady - here are my Deja-Vus: S>RANGE ... no new album out till now, even if you count in that illegally released one several years back it's waaay overdue that something new comes out. And yes I am aware of the collab one with Arkamena, which is not bad, but it's chill and doesn't hit the vein I am after. (And yes I also know that a new one is now closer at hand than ever, but I have to say until this moment it still is not out.) Etnoscope ... if it were not for @Basilisk and the Ektoplazm platform we'd still be stuck with their first one - but even if you count in Way Over Deadline a new one is overdue, I would say - knowing that many tracks are ready - and this has also been communicated in their own posts on Soundcloud and fb ... apparently they are still looking for a label...? Astral Projection ... don't get me started on this ... they should call it "Astral Projection Forever" in a hint at Duke Nukem - and they should do it fast, before that catchphrase also gets out of style completely... Silicon Sound by the way - jep ... but it ain't coming I'm afraid ... at least we didn't get baited too much on that one... I think the whole community has been waiting for a new Hallucinogen album since ... well, since I joined there's these talks. Nevertheless I celebrate that new track that @Penzoline posted I'll just sit back and don't be too excited though, because many times I was in the past, it didn't turn out so fruitious...

NEW PROJECT: Old School Goa Trance live videos
RTP replied to RTP's topic in Psynews Projects discussion
Hehe, thanks ... I leave the System 7 in there too as long as I don't find a better one... That is highly interesting! Even though I found out (thanks to comments) that at least one of the "live" videos is made by combining audio from a different sources ... I have mixed feelings about this, because it's un-tellable to the non-knowing and I want the content to be most authentic - however, what's better: an original but crappy audio or a comparable but good audio with tracks from that exact era ... but fact is some videos are really good and I'll just surf through and include them, we only have a finite number of the old ones anyway... -
Hmmm ... so the account is back apparently, after I gave them all my data, cellphone number and such ... but I am now super careful there ... apparently it can happen out of nowhere that I get banned again. Which would be really bad. I don't think facebook likes profiles like mine...

When is someone going to come up with something new?
RTP replied to fluorosis's topic in General Psytrance
I have (unfortunately) not experienced this exact scenario myself, but I can very much relate to it mentally ... interestingly, in a prducing act = mate n me acually wanted to make "good" psytrance but then got so bored while making it, we lost it completely and made a tune like NPNK: https://soundcloud.com/user-571754012/skeletone-npnk-feat-lord-g (happy if you clicked on that for good measure ) Sometimes you just gotta throw these boundaries and frames in your head over board and the result is better than what you'd have achieved when sticking to them. May be valid as a producer as well as a listener. In the past I was kinda genre-focused, but with every year that passes, my boders dilute ... I feel like a universe ... expanding... -
Finnish people = most "metal" people I met in my life (my favourite metal band comes from Finland also btw) even some don't know that music ... and they've got lots of Sisu - some of them especially while driving, many of the world's best Rally drivers are Finns... Finnish people are good at drinking and driving - but hopefully not at the same time I hope to visit Finland again one day.

Yep, that's a truly good video you did there and I appreciate to watch it again. It takes some skill to make the subject come to life without letting it drift off and I think you are doing that very well cheers

It's best described as a slight feeling of being sick ... but it's definitely without fever or elevated temperature, I checked multiple times. Depending how I feel I can also have uneasiness or elevated heart rate (which then is toxic for getting a night's rest) - I believe these are just results and not causes though. I got my heart checked pretty soon after the infection and it was all good. I don't know what to make of it and had slight hopes a lab test might bring a bit more clearance into the picture. Thanks for the feedback regarding vaccination If I do a lab test, I'll just put an antibody check on top, even if the doctor doesn't order it for me ... I'm just curious whether I still have any - and if yes, I won't vaccinate.

... and nice plot twist: I'm banned on facebook already I don't know why. They say it was due to violation of community guidelines. Maybe that "first chat message with link to Psynews.org" was indeed reported as SPAM I don't think it was anything else. I certainly didn't piss on anybody's lawn. At least not more than here. I filled out their forms, but I don't think I'll get that account back ... and even if I do, I'll be super careful with it from now on - have to be, because what happened is odd I'll edit my previous post because all that rambling isn't so relevant anymore now that the account is locked. That was quite fast tbh. A pity... I new facebook would be shit. I just knew.

hi @psytones -- the project name actually stems from my initial idea to release a real physical 12" (and to be honest, not only one!) ... that's actually a load of spoilers now but I don't care ... there you have it: I wanted a 12" vinyl with at least one S-RANGE track (of course) and the B side would have on it "what I could get my hands on" ... I actually was already in talk with Magnetrixx and actually was the closest to release anything but I can't seem to get a hold of him anymore, which is unfortunate because I know what the track sounds like and I would like it a lot - and I'm actually even a tad worried he's alright - but maybe he just forgot, you know ... "creativity" ... and my backup plan actually was Etnoscope but I can't seem to get in touch with any of them yet, I only had the "hint" to try it on fb ... but anyway, I will continue to try it and even have to go for a different plan maybe or maybe I'll be lucky with a different artist ... we'll see what I can come up with, the plan for the 12" is still live in my head and then I'll have earned the name At the moment I don't even have a single track I hope nobody of these guys is mad at me for talking details, I don't want to talk inferior of anybody - such projects are very casual (they can only be casual for me, I'm an absolute beginner) and are ony "done when they're done" I guess Also I can't change the name "RTP Records" anymore otherwise I'll have to register a different artist And that first release was from the project "Skeletone" I did with a friend who's the producing mastermind and I just have put it out there to see how these releases look like and to be able to show ppl "ok, if you give me a track, I'm gonna release it like that" - I actually wanted to have it FREE but it's not even an option, the distro service does just put a price on it automatically - at least there's something to learn https://open.spotify.com/album/5g4GqUlMkdQIX43DDY6Mx1 ... if you know any people who want their tracks on Spotify, I can deliver with this method. The payment must be agreed upon though... PS: ad ultimo: if there's nothing else to be achieved, at least you'll be able to listen to Skeletone on Spotify this way

Ah so they just change the delivery method of the RNA into cells, I see. I'm not entirely sure that this is a good thing though... Your mentioning of autoimmune responses to Covid-19 got me thinking. I found this article, quite good in my opinion: https://theconversation.com/an-autoimmune-like-antibody-response-is-linked-with-severe-covid-19-146255 I feel like that explains to me a bit why I felt so crap as I had it - it probably was this immune response I had to deal with and I was actually fortunate enough that it didn't turn out severe. The only one thing that worries me personally is this sentence: "Would an ongoing autoreactive response help explain instances of “lingering” COVID-19 even after the viral infection has cleared?" Could there still be a (low-key) autoimmune response active inside of me and that's the reason for these occasional "bad nights" as I put it? I keep having these - nothing too severe, but it makes me think. What lab tests would I need to do to find these blood cells responsible for autoimmune responses ... we have this thing called "large hemogram" ("Großes Blutbild" in German) - would that suffice? And I assume I must do one when I feel the effects, not when I feel totally fine, right? And on a second note: would that vaccine even help me when I had the sickness already and my immune cells therefore should know the virus already (obviously they do, because otherwise I would be dead long ago - said the doctor to me) or is it just pointless increase of risk if I took it?
-
Stunning info! Thanks @Padmapani So the cells where they inject the RNA will die off eventually because they are killed by the own immune cells? I didn't know that. I would still prefer the traditional way of a vaccine with inactivated real Covid virus without any messenger RNA trickery. The risk of "not all immune cells being able to take a look at the virus" I'd just mitigate with repeated injections: I'd take 10 doses of the traditional vaccine or even more just to get around that messenger RNA thing ... make it an intravenous infusion instead of a syringe if you want ... I really would feel bad turning my own cells into "factories for the bad stuff" that my other cells then have to kill (both the stuff and the factory cells) and even if it's only the "harmless" spike protein that they produce - all of this just sounds already like the beginning of an autoimmune disease to me ... what if the immune system doesn't only kill off the cells that the RNA was injected into but, due to an error, it also "learns" to kill off healthy cells? To this day I don't even know if that vaccine doesn't just kill everybody anyway after one year (unlikely though = I don't believe it ) ... nah, it's way too risky in my opinion. What about synthetic antibodies? I think the company "Regeneron" and also another one in the US has made such a cocktail for example and I've heard Mr. Trump himself got that one administered during his infection. Are these less dangerous?

MadMerlin Latest RELEASE!!!
RTP replied to MadMerlin's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
hi there, I just moved your thread to a better spot ... all the best -
Psy trance fundamentals, for you personally speaking...
RTP replied to MikroMakro's topic in General Psytrance
I think Synthwave or "New Retro Wave" (even though that's a YouTube channel and no genre) can answer this for you = I mean: modern production, but made to sound like it was made in the 80s. So it all sounds like "old tracks" and invokes (in me) that feeling of listening to something old that you just found in your parent's attic (depends on the age of your parents but you know what I mean) ... and yes, this feeling is different than if I was listening to modern sounding stuff, even though both can be brand newly produced. I appreciate the thread starting post though - well put @MikroMakro I think it's true that everbody is looking for something different in the music - and it's only natural. You don't even have to hit the exact spot in everbody in a track, you just have to get a large enough amount of people aboard for the trip Uunfortunately most commerically oriented producers misinterpret that and just go for a formula they think that will attract a maximum of people - it's too bad for them that I usually don't work like that and would say that I rather am likely to despise that what masses like - nothing personal or purposeful even, I maybe just work a bit different to other humans, that's what it is... A least I work similar enough to you people here so that we can enjoy some good psy music together -
When is someone going to come up with something new?
RTP replied to fluorosis's topic in General Psytrance
Thanks, I am very happy that I'm not the only one enjoying these Oh and @psytones- yes that last one reminded me of Infected Mushroom regarding the style ... the original tune is pop though (I'd rate it as that). And Mothership makes good remixes if you are into computer games of the 00s... -
I am very surprised you didn't mention the Metronome Remix - that one is indefinitely better in my opinion: And the fun thing about it is, regarding this thread: lo and behold, I find nothing missing in that track. So it really IS possible to still make stuff I enjoy limitless The problem with today's stuff mostly is that I find it overproduced though. And here may lay the cool feature of that remix: "The Only Process" is an old track, grounding these new production techniques and not making them go havoc and be all over the place. I second what you say about 2002 Fullon there above though - Silicon Sound was the main element I grew fond of, but there was more out there in that kind of style. The modern sound = too complex. All this bassline stuff you were talking about in here for example ... already that makes my head spin. It must be even more complex for the other stuff in the modern tracks. I have come to the conclusion that the more repetition and just gradual evolution a track has, the better it is ... that's also why I like the old progressive so much, it was "not jumping around", it was straight and continuous, most of the time... When I miss something, then it's the continuous fast vibrating bassline of progressive.

Well, well, if you do "shameless self promotion" and then disclose your name on Soundcloud and it's similar to artists I heard of, I can't help but comment Ah bummer - so it's a super common name then, well - would have been a funny coincidence if you were related... Nevertheless, cheers - you can check them out ... mostly old style Synthesizer ambient I'd call it. By the way, the suggestions from the others = nice, I like - but a lot more in the vicinity of psytrance than the stuff before ... it depends what you are looking for... (Cool to see Aion kept his name btw, I think it was a good decision ) Ah btw, lemme drop a bomb here ... "something new": hee hee ... what do you say? Great? Terrible? It depends what you are looking for ... what are you looking for?
