Revisiting some Filipe's work lately and this is definitely a release that has been carved into my mind. I used to listen to this a lot while while doing whatever. Great, fun sounds, melodies and atmospheres. The negatives are still regarding repetition, though I've found myself more accepteful toward it. For others it may be worse, though. Half of this album is a good amount to digest at a time, because of it and also because it's uptempo from beginning to end with the exception of two interludes and an outro. 2008 wasn't too too long ago, but so far, it has aged quite nicely. Very unique sound. The track Pandemonium!, which was also on Human Hyperactivation, is still a complete blast to listen to by the way. Classic track imo. Also lol at my old post. I'll let it be just for the sake of it.

I feel bad about not noticing this thread! This album is the classic unofficial Untold Stories 2004-2007 Live version with half different tracks, a fact that alone makes this special. The unofficial release is certainly superior aside from the hideous mastering, just with Astral Planes remix alone, but the tracks on this live version are still some of filipe's best work which I feel like makes it an essential in any physical collection with post 2000 goa.

I don't think there's any story-telling depth either, but I highly doubt it was the aim. It sounds raw, dancy and fun, which is where I make the connection to the 2006/2007 sounds. The "cheese" on this album hits the right notes to my ears which I'm super glad about. DNA Blocking Agents is the only track that does it wrong. In relation to what's mostly being released currently, this is a new and an exciting twist. This album just does whatever the hell it pleases and really enjoy how it goes about it.

Ah some insight. It truly is a travesty how those problems affect free releases since there is also great music available for free.

??? I think we have a misunderstanding here. I said the volume levels are louder for a chance, which is good, unlike other free releases where the volume is a lot lower compared to most other releases for some reason.

I know youtube can lower quality of sound but I'm not so sure on volume levels? Anyhoo, good to know.

Metapsychical? 2007? Goa Syndrome? I don't want to sound like a hyperbole but hell, some of those melodies and rawness is back. This is why I never got bored of Human Hyperactivation and Mindsphere. That 2007 sound is present here. Only one track I really dislike from my 2.5 plays of the album. Mastering compared to Spiritual Rising is much better, then again, the Zed Reactor on that album also sounded better than the rest - I guess if this is mastered by Zed himself, he only has ear for his own production. It doesn't work for others.

So what do you do with them? Rip and sell forward? My addiction is just hauling what i want the very most and keeping it. I don't even rip the damn things

I bought Final Fantasy 13, been meaning to do that since launch.. though I can't believe how it's sold out just about everywhere and still goes for 20+ euros inland for the damn platinum versions. Goddamn. Also couple of days ago one of these

I don't think this has reached any 3rd party distributor and was only available through the goatranch site since the low amount of CDs actually being sold.

My friend, who introduced me to this music, always told me this was called NRG or FINNRG and others say it's Freeform. In this case though discogs says Hardcore/HardTrance while both of those genres don't really sound like this from my experience. Goa masters the depth and story telling along with great melodies, but this type of music simply has super powerful melodies. Can anyone recommend more stuff like this? Also don't recommend anything from FINNRG records because I will be skimming through their catalog now

I swear that melody has been re-used somewhere because even I recognized it from a long time ago but the youtube views are really, really low.

The rare japan version sealed for like 4 euros or what was it, although the case had a small crack and the seal was a little torn Spent the last of my paypal pennies, nice deals!

For scratches, maybe you've moved them from time to time? I don't know, but about the deteration, it is completely true that it will happen eventually. Depends on the quality of the CD, humidity and all that sort of stuff. I think this is a good thing to keep in mind tbh. CD's won't last forever, unless they're made like M-Discs are lol.
