Kampfar is quite good thanks but varg isn't a nazi, he mentions he's strongly patriotic and he used to describe himself as a nazi, but that the term has a quite different meaning there and he isn't at all rascist/anti slavic/anti jewish like the problems associated with nazism. What'd you think of agalloch though? I think I'm definitely going to have to look at the whole funeral doom/ambient crossover doom stuff a lot more. Very nice atmosphere on that one! Come discuss doom metal then! All I know is, it's very atmospheric, and it generally doesn't feel immature, in some cases quite deep, and there's stuff that's definitely better than others, and its quite open ended. It's certainly a lot better than hardstyle or grindcore anyway.

I can tell just by the fact there are 11 tracks it will be shit.

So I know this is the other electronic section, but if it has synths its electronic enough right? So anyway, I got into black metal recently, which is very atmospheric stuff, and a lot of the artists are quite melodic (without being cheesy like melodic death metal) and (long tracks too) ambient influenced. Here's me thinking lets hope its not too mainstream trancey after reading some comments he's said on isratrance... and that is a very mainstream trancey cover. Not looking forward.

These two are melodic techno, but they are really similar to classic trance in mood.

I've only ever been to one party, and for the most part most of the djs sucked. but... hearing B.P. Empire up loud in the middle of a forest on a massive sound system, goddamn! :posford:

NU psy. A cross between psytrance and nu metal... I know however no artist would even attempt an abomination like that.

Awesome cover art. and this is exactly the sort of set I was really looking to download. Only recognise one of the tracks(sortof to be expected, not that up to date with psy really), but its very good (and furious is great too). Especially looking forward to it since its from basilisk too loved your live at dark matter mix, I'm sure I'll love this one even more. Looking into doing a darkpsy set soon personally, this will be something to learn from I'm sure. No the sites not working.

Chemical brothers/Junkie XL is big beat. L.S.G. and dance 2 trance is what I'd call classic trance(L.S.G. has some very techno influenced stuff though, like netherworld (vinyl edit) is definitely borderline melodic techno). The stuff from 95 and before is a lot different to euro/mainstream trance (a lot better IMO). Orbital is melodic techno. Emannuel top is acid techno... Kai tracid/Union jack is some weird form of acid trance. Aphex Twin - Digeridoo. Is some kind of techno, melodic techno I think. Definitely not trance. I would highly recomend this track however for classic/acid trance:

Sweeney todd was quite good, although as I was talking to my friend the other day about its sortof overrated. It's good, but not awesome... although its a very good style and I like what it does so it probably gets rated higher for that. Underworld was quite a good movie too.

Oh hell yes, I heard times like these as the first track in a set the other day and it blew me away.

Well its dark, and its ambientey... but its not much like dark ambient

but this is shpongle we're talking about.

Dark soho doesn't have a dark ambient flavour.

Well I've downloaded a few sets that have been played on bassdrive. Techno.fm is also a very quality station, and it has a dnb channel which I occasionally listen to
