  1. I heard some were surprised that I was willing to rerelease that album in 2015, when I was still part of Suntrip Records, despite that very critic review. How is that possible? Was it just a money thing? Are we frauds? Well, no: it's been 25 years since my review above, and ooh it does feel like someone else wrote it! To me, in the pre-2000 era, the best Asia 2001 album remains "Live". And I never liked Râ or Strange World although they have some very interesting moments. At the time I thought Psykadelia was cheesy, and yet, in retrospect, I would still rank it as the second best album of Asia 2001. I should have phrased it like that. The 6.5/10 mark? Quarrelsome at best. I know there are other reviews of mine that are hasty and negative or that may have hurt the artists themselves and I am sorry for that. I was young and stupid. Fast forward 15 years, I remember calling Gilbert myself, telling him we were interested in re-releasing Psykadelia because it was a landmark in goatrance, and I was sincere. Tastes and perspective change with time. In 15 years, the student me living in Paris where so many great and big-headed parties were taking place, became a worker, a husband, a father, moved abroad, lost a mother, got a cancer, made difficult career choices...and in the meantime became a label manager, met artists, visited studios, and realized all the sweat and blood it took to make music. 15 years to learn the value of certain things. And there is still room for improvement even today. On that November 8th 2000 I had no clue, no empathy, no hindsight, and was certainly too arrogant to accept that album is kick-ass!

  5. Interesting perspective... however I relistened to 3-4 "newer" IM albums - to rate em also on RYM - and got not much there to be positive. Need to chekc how this one came out but, rating for the others was 1,5 / 5 and 2 / 5 iirc But there cover pics are still GOOD. OKAY EDIT, i have rated 2 newer ones then this " IM The Supervisor" seems this i have not rated yet (at least not found in my list, so gonna listen at the weekend and let u know my thoughts . if anyone is interested in them ? :P) Yes i remember now these 2 were so bad (for MY taste) that i lost interest and not torture me w/ more new stuff from them. But this "IM" is more on the still old side from 2004, so in theory should be not as bad

  6. Dear friends, the release of Hallucinations of the Buddha Part II has been postponed to September 25, 2026. This means that the second part of the release will be published on exactly the same date as the first part, precisely two years later. At the moment, Bandcamp displays September 6 as the release date, but this is due to the platform allowing pre-orders only up to 90 days before the official release date. We sincerely apologize to all our listeners for this significant delay. There are several reasons behind this decision: - the tracklist is now 90% complete and we are extremely happy with the results, but some musicians need additional time to finish their work; - we are actively involved in organizing the Balkan Goa Fanatics festival, and it is better to focus our attention on one major project at a time; - the summer period is not the best time for a truly important and defining release, as many of our listeners are away on holidays and attending festivals; We would also like to remind everyone that Hallucinations of the Buddha Part II will be the largest CD release in the entire history of psychedelic electronic music. The compilation will feature 71 tracks spanning Goa Trance, Suomisaundi, Nitzhonot, Ambient, and Downtempo. You can already listen to 25 tracks and pre-order the limited 7CD edition here: https://globalsect.bandcamp.com/album/7cd-va-hallucinations-of-the-buddha-part-ii We would also like to invite everyone to the Balkan Goa Fanatics festival: https://balkangoafanatics.com/ Thank you all very much for your understanding. If anyone is unhappy with this delay, simply send us an email and we will gladly issue a refund: globalsect604@gmail.com P.S. This year is a defining one for our label. We have stepped outside our comfort zone and are actively expanding in every possible direction, so we truly count on your support ❤️ Keep calm and trust in GS, Goa Trance will never die 👽✨

  8. Read Bernardo Kastrup's work if you're interested in this kind of topic. IMO his writings have the most clarity among contemporary philosophers; several technical papers but also books that are more accessible to the general public.

  9. Green Nuns Of The Revolution - Atomic Armadillo (1996) from VA - Goa Head Vol. 1 The sample at 03:59 — "They have no word for fluffy" — is taken from the British sitcom Blackadder Goes Forth. The quote appears in Episode 4, Private Plane, specifically in the jail scene, and is spoken by Captain Blackadder (Rowan Atkinson) during a conversation about Germans. The exact position of the sample varies between different releases: The sample placement differs because these releases contain different edits and mixes of the track.

  11. Hi Folks, How you doing? I just wanted to drop a line here, to let people know I've started a merch line of T-Shirts. I've never done that before, so quite stoked about them. I designed them myself, and there are choices of colours, design, and sizes. Their good quality prints on garment, and good quality garments. Link to the store: https://drezz-shop.fourthwall.com/en-gbp Also.......I am going to release a new album this year, I'd like to go out on vinyl. It will be pre orders/crowd funded like I did for the last Double album. I'll do full psychedelic artwork, signed, numbered to probably 150 or so, perhaps more, depends........there were some very cool cats here on this forum who supported the last one, so please do consider doing so for this one. It's going to be a really good one I think, I've postponed it actually: It was going to come out earlier, but then I started writing some really interesting stuff, and its been flowing, so I'm waiting to get all the best material together, and its going really well, so I'm putting everything into this one, as I may go into a different direction after this album comes out. Please check out my Facebook page for all the latest on that. I'll make sure to post a thread here with all the relevant links and all that when everything is ready to roll. Thanks to all who supported the recent Digital Reprints retrospective compilation, that was a really cool project to do, and it was great helping put all that together with Thanos from Digital Reprints. Anyway, please do consider grabbing a T-Shirt or two, that would really help the project, and facilitate more cool stuff! Cheers, Drezz

  12. This is the first one of an upcoming set of single-track releases. Like our previous songs, synthetic soundscapes are combined with a rock instrumentation. This also includes the lead acid bassline which is played with a bass guitar loaded with a lot of effects. In contrast to the most of our other songs, this one comes in a dark and gloomy mood. here you can get a free download code for Bandcamp: band.codes getmusic.fm streaming and download links: Amazon Apple Bandcamp Deezer Spotify Youtube

Funny I just thought the same, esp when in another forum ( a "kinky" one :P) there is also a discord server I got this invite and joined etc but dont know what to do and the guy who has this server does not answer. I requested they delete my account again, if even the "inviter" did not answer for what is this good? LOL

  14. I just came to make topic about feeling nostalgic and grateful for the years spent here with everyone back some 20 years ago, oh my, how time flies and that it makes me rather nostalgic seeing that oldies aren't active anymore and that forum itself is basically half-comatose, and there I see this thread of yours, Traveller, literally minute after I was thinking about oldies who were frequents here and there you are! Ahem, what can I say, I think you have been dethroned long ago, but just chose to accept your faith only now. Oh and I did my trademark emoji reaction to your posts, guys 😎😂 :NINJA:

  15. Today I present two tracks that use very similar melodies. The first track was written by songwriter Nello Tijardovic, who has dozens of tracks behind him, mostly dance music. The second track is by the project Notch. It’s barely known even among goa fans. This was a project by the guys from Carbon Based Lifeforms. As you can hear, they definitely didn’t start out in the genre they later became famous for. If anyone doesn’t catch the similarity between these two tracks, here are the timestamps: first track — 05:59, second — 04:09. Even the track title “Phenomenology” seems like a nod to Miranda. Remember the name of her first album? Yeah, that’s exactly what I’m referring to. Miranda — Mars Needs Women (1998) | Written by Nello Tijardovic Notch — Phenomenology (1999)

  18. I've been checking the Pleiadians' 30 Years release a few times now. The Family of Light disc you should already know. Then there's the 1998 studio rehearsal tape where things get interesting. For convenience, the tracks are (including the DL-only first track): Modulation Merope Alcyone Asterope Headspin & Taygeta Rotating Fields Electra Lunar Civilization Vimana For some historical context (correct me if I'm wrong), there were no official Etnica releases between Plastic 12" (March 1997) and Equator (March 1999). Fluorophilia was briefly promoted but didn't happen. Meanwhile, there was Pleiadians' IFO in July 1997 and Headspin 12" in June 1998 so it makes sense that this was primarily a "Pleiadians year" with touring under that name. Also note that Family of Light was only released in October 1999, after Equator, so despite this release's bundling, FoL wasn't exactly a coming-very-soon thing in 1998 yet. Therefore the set it still largely about IFO. So what do we have here? 4½ IFO tracks and the remaining ½ from a single that eventually ended up on FoL. Modulation "was conceived specifically to be played during the Total Eclipse Party in Venezuela which took place February 98", according to the FoL notes. Lunar Civilization and Vimana are "guest tracks" we already heard in the Etnica Live in Athens 1996 set, finishing that too but flipped. Then there's Rotating Fields, only semi-released on that shoddy 2001 Etnica mp3 compilation (and later elsewhere), but reportedly Maurizio's solo track from 1998. Were there any specific Pleiadians vs Etnica plans for that? I don't know. And the music? Well, I'd say the versions are slightly toned down from the in-your-face power of IFO. For example Electra becomes quite eerie with so many things left out from it or altered. Also Lunar Civilization may be the "softest" of the many released versions out there, the loud main riff barely appearing. The whole thing kind of feels like the total mayhem era tracks were played in Equator style or something like that. But it's a different take and I like it that way. Was this a review? Well, more like a background check and some first thoughts. But I'll be listening again while pondering the full context.

  19. The melody from the beginning of the track Nihilist — Sunbeam From Fornax 4 (1994) was borrowed by the duo TransWave for their track TransWave — Adoration To The Aum (1995). Whether TransWave did this intentionally or accidentally is unknown to me.

  24. I just checked the link and right now there seems to be a small selection of compilations there. Let's see what happens next. It's a tricky situation. The previous version was a treasure trove for an oldschool rave collector, but hardly for anyone else. Let's face it - next to no one would probably need 234 old rave compilations (many of them double albums) nor pay any really serious money for digital copies of them, but for about 200 euros/dollars the whole bundle was an impressive collection for archival purposes and in case that you wanted to check random bits from there. However, if the original licensing deals had expired: Maybe the artists don't see a penny of it. Then again, "a penny" would be the right ballpark estimate per track if you split the sum (minus fees, the label's share, taxes etc.) between, let's say, 4000 tracks in the bundle. And then, trying to re-negotiate the deals with everyone who had appeared on those albums over several decades would be a monumental task. I happen to know how tedious it can be to track down and to negotiate the licences even for a single track today with so many possible rightholders in different regions etc. Then just imagine the effort vs gain for thousands of them if it's basically just a tiny amount of oldschool hoarders who might ever buy this bundle (or parts of it). So, is anyone going to make a lot of money from this? It would be awfully nice if the compilations with very little market value today would be just uploaded gradually to archive.org as public domain or offered as pay-what-you-want-for-charity or whatever, but even that would require a permission from everyone individually. In any case, such huge collections with diverse authors and little demand are largely stuck in a limbo. It's hard to see any way out from there that would be both realistic and legal. I was kind of tempted to buy the whole shebang for the aforementioned reasons (basically packratting and occasional nostalgia/research) but never did because my hard disks are a disaster area and cannot handle hundreds of gigabytes with extra backups - which you always need with online stores that may vanish without a trace.
