  1. Hi, it'd be great if you guys find a second to give me a feedback on this production.
  2. Hello psyheads I would be rather happy if you would check out my latest Goa trance track called "Balkan Flip" - it's an unique mix of old school goa sounds and balkan ethno melodies. Hope you'll enjoy it and subscribe to my channel for lots of psy music and psy production tutorials. https://youtu.be/2i_QooQJHWw
  3. Tips and comments are welcome! RealBee https://soundcloud.com/realbee/realbee-way-to-ozram
  4. Here is my review of the most recent compilation done by Jacob "Izzy" Hasten and Michael "Cosinus" of Sangoma Records. I was very grateful to provide my ears and heart for them. My procedure or design was to listen to each track a handful of times with the thought of how I could really capture the picture they painted in relation to sound. Closing my eyes to really feel and immerse myself on what the compilation to offer brought out a familiar, but newer thought pattern to me. The following manuscripts are the answers to that cycled question... :: If you are hesitant about buying this album, Don't be. Smashing through genre categorizations, this compilation brings you hypnotic atmospheres, slamming bass grooves, and epic, cerebral melodies all while ensnaring you in some beautiful, technical psytrance. My experience with this album was inspiring to say the least. If you want bass that can beautifully infiltrate your embrace with a sound so profound, "Ironic Cultures" is the treat for you. This album delivers hard and heavy, but has just enough space to keep you in its grasp. Spontaneous creativity meet sonic divinity in a wonderful array of psychedelic production based right out of New York. I was thoroughly impressed with the ways the melodies could just scoop me up and take me away for a bit. The technical prowess of each track was carved indefinitely to create the best story. It was almost hard to be able to scribe all of this because when the music is that good, you forget to analyze while lost in the vibe. Get this Compilation. Your soul will only thank you. The album cover had its own story to tell.... Complimenting very well the journeys into new dimensions you will experience on this album, staring into you on the cover is the artwork of a rift that will catch your dreams. Depicted is a very dark, but inviting portal revelealing Sangoma Records in its core. Much like the archaic experiences outlined in some psytrance and history of man, this portal is decorated with a native design that reflects the vibrant, colorful, layered sounds heard in Psy music. Seeming to be some type of ektoplasmic feathering, this cover arts does a great job of joining the worlds of alien, ghostly, and otherworldly, just as its sounds will do. Here was the analyzation of the individual tracks... Axial Tilt -Heating Modulation This tracks comes in hard and groovy after some atmospheric ambiance to deliver you one high energy journey. Entranced in the punchy groove, wispy synths with the right amount of delay to send you spinning quickly paint the vibe with a bass that bumps hard, catching you in its subby grip. The conversation between the cymbals and gritty, granulized synths fail not to deliver you a percussive adventure filled with waves of vibrance and melodic evolution. Ascend and descend in spacetime sonically until the atmospheres show back up to lead you to its finish in this ripping psychedelic artwork. 2. Drip Drop- Musical Neurons Drip Drop starts you off with a deep, percussive vibe in this one. Glitchy, cognitive Blips in the distance soon welcome you to your musical awakening. Let each sound drop on the synapses of your brain to expand into the addition of each measure. Drifting with the growing patterns, conga lines and galactic bird talk will be the foundation for this one. As the neurons in your brain light up with each piece of this cerebral symphony, your feet will be shaking the dancespace. Gastard- Shake Up Weeple Get sucked up in Gastard's computer glitch while his bass grounds you in a two foot switch. Your binary code will unravel with each beep trailing with delay. This percussive bounce beat will have you moving on your feet and mind through vocal lines into ridding the virus. Bubble onward with this track's infinite progression into a metallic chasm of musical verbalization. Featuring bass grooves, constant, bouncing movement, and many shifts, this journey finishes with a melodic shamanic section that will warp you right out of this sector and into your spirit. Dsaba and Kabayun- Vega Sector Navigate deep space bass with Kabayun and Dsaba as your sound shaman crew. You are in command of the spaceship in this one. Take a ride through the abyss with synthwork and drums to greet you and grip you quick in this soundstream. The vibe in this one just progresses and impresses while taking you through fun rising sections and breaks. You may get lost out there, but Dsaba and Kabayun will pilot you back home with crunchy hitech calls, chimes, and one catchy evolving melody. Synthetic Chaos vs. Cosinus- Like an Animal Immerse yourself in an electronic animal kingdom of noise with this one. Starting off slower with the right amount of groove, soon you will be guided by shimmering atmospheres into a techtronic portal of sound. Caged like an animal in this aggressive sound, Synthetic Chaos and Cosinus take you through a buzzing and riveting soundscape with enough crashes and edge to keep you out of your seat. Southwild- Blackstripes Nipping you quick with those wonderful familiar bass grooves, Southwild doesn't take long to transport you into an ektoplasmic chamber filled with hollow xylophones, maddening impacts, and a hydraulic hyperspace. Drift from each riser to the beautifully arranged darkness of each echoing melody. This is one slamming and jamming masterpiece that will have you screaming for more when it abruptly ends. Hoodwink- Swanky Panky Smash through a Shrieky, mechanical intro to ride booming bass groove. As you metronome between Hoodwink's strategically placed squelches, the energy will greet you with some cybertronic guitars and wooey pads. Entrancing variation lies in the talk of the main sounds, scripting a hollow journey that will have you euphorically guessing what's next. Capturing your mind and movement, this track will zoom you from one nebula to the next. LAB and Hydrae- Things Out of Life Float in the cockpit of this one through droney strings to be placed right into heavy, futuristic bass. With ravishing use of transitions and breaks, LAB and Hydrae aim to zip you in and out of this hemisphere with a gargantuan, ghastly, and growling sound. Phase with a hypnotic bass pluck that perfectly flips from offbeat to the norm within this electronic storm. Synkronic- Tech Knowledge Among flight in a glitch soup , you will waiting for the bass that will put you in your place for the start of this one. Synkronic makes use of every inch of timespace in this hitech arp for your heart. The sounds that vocalize with beeping mimicery and such finesse in their placement will keep you grounded in a dance state. Once Upon A Time- Memories of Things Unseen Eerily ripening your ears for mean kick variations and a collage of percussive clickery, Once Upon A Time drives hard into your soul with this track. This powerful ghostly sound will emcompass you with layered communication of some of the heaviest and crunchiest sounds on the comp. You won't wish you unheard this wonderland of Glitchery when coming through the otherside as it finishes with a rhythmic combination of technical crunches and signalling arpeggios. Christian William Jones. Psychronicity 11/26/2015
  5. Artist: Various Title: Dark Side of the Mind Label: Vision Records Date: December, 2007 1. NRS Vs. Kode Six - Cluster Duster 2. Rubix Qube - Exhale 3. Kode Six - Cell System Reset 4. Gerasene - Syllable Lottery 5. Zion Linguist - Freakenstein 6. Frozen Ghost - Ghost Meat 7. Hiyarant - Driven 8. Scam - High In Disguise 9. Technodrome - Gate For Hate 10. Tested Extension - Virginity "I'm sure there's going to be more than one unpleasant surprise before we're done." I've been listening to the sh*t out of this for the past week. Gym, laundry, going to pick the kids up from school...doesn't matter. It always rocks. South African labels in the 2000's were the absolute top when it came to great psytrance, but with only a few releases in its history you can see why this was overlooked. 10 years on and this night time beast continues to rage. Bludgeoning kicks, acid, and dark atmosphere make this a great addition to your collection. It's futuristic and melodic and most of the tracks are not static. By that I mean they are constantly evolving and don't find a melody and ride it all the way home. It's like different levels of blistering music. I know we used to call this twilight music (can't do that...makes me think of the ridiculous movie), but if you liked Nexus Media or Timecode stuff from the time I referenced above then this should be right in your wheelhouse. 6. Artist: Various Title: Fractal Energy Label: Fractal Records Date: February, 2007 1. Electric Universe - Shift 2. Neuromotor Vs. Electrocult - Humamacumadi 3. Outer Signal - Alien Signal 4. Painkiller Vs. Puzzle - Invalid Extension 5. Sidhartha - The Sleepwalker 6. Madnetic - Jungle Groove 7. Kali - Travelizer 8. Chromatone Vs. Random - Lighter Than Light 9. Elec3 - Purple Shrimp 10. Hexagnum - The Poem What is it with these compilations that just mail it in as the you go deeper down the tracklist? Seems it was a common practice with a lot of labels, but let's be honest there's a lot wrong with this compilation. Right from the outset we get a track from legend Boris Blenn that sounds identical to almost every track he's been making for a decade. Taking a sabbatical might not be the worst thing for him at this point. Moving on I defy you to make it through Humanacumadi without wanting to trip a toddler. It's ruthless in its annoyance. Next we are subjected to "full-on with an edge" clones that don't succeed in either category. This includes Invalid Extension with it's insipid sample, touch tones, and bass line made me want to dig up Alexander Graham Bell and punch his corpse. How in the f*ck does that get past quality control? Somehow I have two physical copies and it's the equivalent of leaving a bag of poo on my doorstep whilst you ring the bell and hide behind a bush. Often I wonder why I continue to review so many deeply flawed albums when there's porn to be watched and sh*ts to be taken, but I always come back to the same answer. I do it for you. 7. Artist: Various Title: Feel the Force Label: Spectral Records Date: June, 2005 1. Twisted System - Die Nagmerrie (Menog Remix) 2. Khopat - Alien Explorer 3. Shift - Serius Problem 4. Phyx Vs. Menog - Danian 5. Menog - Spiritual 00 (Audialize Remix) 6. Tryambaka - Filth 7. XRC - Medusa 8. Spectra - Borealis 9. Probe - Probe Feel the force. Hmmm....ok, a simple equation ought to sum things up nicely. = X Massively small tiny hands multiplied by a super slow acceleration will guarantee the survival of drosophila melanogaster. Probably the first time that classification was used in a review. While the label begun by Menog & XRC has had it's great moments this one is mostly a miss. The three tracks worth your while will be the bombastic and aggressive offerings from Shift, Phyx & Menog, and of course Twisted System. Pure acid mayhem. Things truly go off the rails by the time you get to Spectra and ends in a dumpster fire of a track by a project called Probe. Same last name as Menog so I'm sensing some nepotism is afoot. As I said mostly a miss aside from those three bangers. Psyshop
  8. Artist: Manifold Title: Digital Sun Label: Ektoplazm Date: June, 2016 1. Manifold - The Wolf (Part II) 2. Manifold - What Time Is Love (2016 Edition) 3. Manifold - F-five 4. Manifold - Hated 5. Manifold - Voinamirov (Ektoplazm Edition) 6. Manifold & Dissociactive - Mara (RNKH 2016 edit) 7.Manifold - Faces (Ektoplazm Edition) 8.Manifold - Links234 (Ektoplazm Edition) "Look around you...what do those faces tell you?" *Shudder* Look I expect grandpa Eastwood to hate this. Probably makes his hearing aid whistle and it was made by Russians. This is what they came up with after a 7 year absence? Eight tracks and only one of them (Hated I think) hasn't appeared on other compilations? But Mike, they were reworked and remastered!" Who the f*ck asked for that? Was there a crowdfunding page where the masses wanted to hear remastered mediocre tracks? This was the same guy who was responsible for the tech-trance monster Acid Box? Lots of questions and not many answers. This was an utter sh*tshow. House vocals, cheesy samples, and eye rolling phrases. It's full-on and not even well done full-on. You're kidding right? Am I getting punked? Ashton, come out man, this isn't funny anymore. Just a few quick notes: Voinamorov has that Nexus Media vibe to it, but that makes sense because it was released on the Midnight Storm II compilation. Even though I thought it was a good track that was 11 years ago, you don't get credit for that sh*t! Reworked and remastered? Sounds almost identical. Faces had almost every atrocious cliche that you can imagine. It's what makes people think psytrance is dead. That should've been buried when it appeared on the Edge compilation. And the "rocking" guitar of the final track was so 10 years ago. Look it's a free release and they are entitled to do whatever they want. But if you're gonna pimp some old tracks generally they should be improved. Miss me with this. Mystic Sound Bandcamp

  11. Artist: Various Title: Classical Distortions Label: Organik Media Date: October, 2009 01 - Tickets - E'naxx (Intro) 02 - Principles of Flight Vs Phonic Request - No Sense 03 - EMP - The Wreckoning 04 - Deliriant - Blackout 05 - Zion Linguist - Toy With Your Mind 06 - Chemogen - My First Chemistry Set (Cybernetix Rmx) 07 - Parana - Toccota Infuzued 08 - Solar Axis - Know What I Mean 09 - On - The Dream 10 - Artifakt - The Runner This was another noble effort to do some good in the world and God knows we could use it. All the proceeds would go towards repairing South Africa's poorest schools. I assume that means getting desks, fixing bathrooms, and general maintenance that schools regularly require. Not getting an armed security guard to protect the students from lions and sh*t. Sounds stupid doesn't it? We actually had the head of the Dept. of Education say that she believed that schools in Wyoming had armed officers present to protect the children from grizzly bear attacks. Yep. Like they're just sitting and waiting for little Timmy to chase the errant kickball into the woods. This is what happens when you don't fund education yet you spend more money than all countries combined on defense. Don't know if you follow what the hell is going on over here, but Rome is burning and that orange dipsh*t is holding the book of matches. I hope a lot of people bought this album because God knows education needs all the f*cking help it can get. As far as the album goes you can look at the tracklist and see the style of psy they were going for. There is a mood here and a lot of haunting piano melodies to drive it home. Enjoyable when it flexes it's Talpa-esque muscle yet annoying when like a toddler it waves it's full-on hard on at the guests who came over for dinner. And there is a lot of that exhibitionism. There were parts of tracks that were great, but the converse of that is also true. Sometimes it achieved its desired effect with the symphonic work and other times it was just outright noisy. It seemed like the compilation tried to have it both ways. Full-on while trying to shoehorn a classical bent in the music is a situation where everyone loses. Bottom line the tracks just aren't that great to recommend. Psyshop

  13. Artist: Various Title: Erratic Distortion Label: MMD Records Date: 2006 1. Lost & Found - Rhythm Machine Stick 2. Phyx - Fall of Babylon 3. Zion Linguist - Masquerade 4. Hiyarant - Mechanism 5. Multistate - Press Any Key 6. Frozen Ghost - Dr. Hooligan 7. The Linguist Vs. The Cell - The Door 8. Hiyarant - Split 9. Sworn - Last Chance 10. Rabdom L - Hidden Land "Oh hey so uh...wanna try something?" I think you know that I do. Another of the less heralded South African labels delivers with some heart pounding night time psytrance. Thumping music with dark atmospheres is the name of the game. Another one of these compilations that holds up a decade on. It's all 140 ish bpms so that might get a little tiresome if you're of the mind to give this a full listen through and they use a lot of similar sounds. Having said that the tracks are so energetic and powerful a minor quibble as that doesn't bother me. Like a lot of compilations that offer this style of music it's often drenched in metallic sounds, twisted samples, and forecasts a post-apocalyptic future. But those basses son! Also a heavy techno influence here that reminds me of the Artifakt. Lots of psychedelic madness to be discovered within. Recommended. Psyshop Beatspace

  16. Artist: Various Title: Deep Into The Nexus Label: Nexus Media Date: February, 2007 1. Brethren & Outer Signal - Rock 2. Hydraglyph - Nowhere Near 3. Phyx - Evolver 4. Abomination - Pass Away (Shift Remix) 5. Twisted System - Mad Method (Live Version) 6. Slug & Abomination - Where is Magneto? 7. Shift - Pump 8. Pitch Hikers - Counter Culture 9. Artifakt - Gravity Spine Pt. 1 10. Artifakt - Gravity Spine Pt. 2 "And then suddenly....BOOM!" Any astrophysicist or rocket scientist worth his salt will tell you that this compilation is devastating. It's night time psytrance from 10 years ago that holds up very well. Acid all over the place with the ominous melodies that made Nexus Media one of the premier labels for this type of music. The first 7 tracks are blisteringly good and don't let up a hair. It culminates in the techno influenced weirdness that garnered Artifakt a loyal following. If you're a fan of the South African style of psy from the mid 2000's (and let's be honest you should be) then this is a must have. Psyshop Beatspace

  19. Artist: Enertopia Title: Magic For Eternity Label: Krembo Records Date: 1997 1. Intro 2. Broken Sky 3. The Shout of a Headman 4. Marakesh 2000 5. Novelle 6. Van Spooker 7. Manga 8. Volvoker 9. Wacky 10. Marteff 10a. Untitled "You're not ready for so much excitement!" To further drive home the point that not everything released in 1997 was gold comes the debut of Emiliano Solazzi Griminger. His second album Face Adaptor was appealing to me in a I don't know why I like this, but I do kind of way. With a heavy techno influence this has a raw and electric feel. With that description it should be appealing in a cold and dark way, but something is missing. There are melodies of course, but they sound abrasive rather than melodic. Marakesh 2000 isn't bad and with it's power and symphonic layers reminds me a little of a Kris Kylven production. He goes a little heavy on the sample usage in Van Spooker (even though I like the sample) and then annoys the crap out of me with a looped vocal tacet on Volvoker. For one final insult with the last track he adds some more music after an extended silence. I hate that. Ask me if it made any f*cking difference with the overlook of this album. Pass.
  20. What's up people!?This is my latest production.A dark psychadelic kind vibe, on a groovy full on bassline.I've produced the track in Ableton, using operator for the bassline and serum for the main synths parts. Feedbacks are really welcome. PEACE
