  1. No i mean did you use your Virus here and how much. Im not buying it, i already have one
  2. Very nice tracks, especially the first one. A bit more laidback/relaxing than what I'm looking for (that Yarn track sounds somehow more deep and mysterious) but still very good. Thanks for the other suggestions I'll check them out. I think I've heard some stuff by GMO and Dense which I found pretty boring, but maybe I was just in a wrong mood
  3. The mastering compression is really brutal. Also some of the leads are overbearing in high frequecies. Also i think the track should either be shorter or contain more of something (melodies, breakdowns or some other development, idk). Other than that, awesome track, man, i LOVE psy with proper melodies and deep atmosphere, you've done terrific job on both. Btw, how much of it is your Virus?
  4. Thanks, they top 30 progressive is pretty nice, some tracks from there are pretty close to what I'm looking for (though some others sound more like early 00's club trance). I really love the Yarn track I've posted though their other stuff i happened to find sounds different and I like it much less.
  5. Thanks. I'm actually not a big fan of typical downtempo with few exceptions. I see this style as some kind of trance because it has well defined hypnotic groove. Could you drop some names? I think Fulcturion is doing something in this vein, does he?
  6. I often find stuff like this on various downtempo compilations - it sounds like progressive psy slowed down to about 110-120 bpm with more focus on atmospheres, pads and melodies but still having this typical psy kbbb moving the track forward Are there any artists consistently releasing this kind of music or compilations focused on this specific style? And how it is properly called? I know Profondita's Ciel album has some tunes in this vein, would love to hear more such music, it somehow fits my current mood pretty well.
  7. And techncially neither of them is psytrance
  8. This is not my most favourite psytrance album but production-wise I think it is hard to top Note that it is mastered relatively quiet and because of this it sound very spacey, warm and powerful. Very enjoyable in headphones.
  9. Sorry, maybe I'm overreacting but was it really necessary to mention that it was made by Russians as one of the flaws of the release? It's Voinamirov (War of the Worlds), not Voinamorov. I've only heard the Faces track which I think is quite funny ( I know the original song)
  10. Interesting, if not the word "mantra" in the title and the singing being apparently in Indian, I'd think that this track is more influenced by Russian ethnic music with some classical motives rather than anything Indian. Great track btw, basically everything made by this guy is great. Not strictly psy-related but may be interesting
  11. It took me a while to realize that they aren't called Hypnocock.
  12. Don't care about the remix but the original tracks sound interesting, at least from the production/sound-design perspective. Btw, Hypnoxock is related to Green Beats which is one of my most favourite downtempo acts.
  13. Sesto Sento have made substantial contribution into transforming full-on into some sort of pop music. Now this guy does the same thing to progressive. I guess he will make a forest project next.
  14. Thanks! I also like the second one more. Still not perfect but closer to what I'm after and sounds better in itself.
  15. Another version. Which one sounds better? https://soundcloud.com/recursion-loop/proggy-bassline-test-v2 I'm getting really lost, that uber-fat proggy bass (One Function, Daniel Lesden and others) how the frak are they doing this?
  16. The thread about groovy basslines reminded my about this my track where I tried to make something in this vein. I've made it a while back but I believe I didn't post it here. The whole thing expect for the drums was made with one software synth, Synapse Dune 2 (hence the name). Some "twillight" synths and some melodic synths too.

    V/A- Edge

Ouch, it was my favourite tune when I was 12 Just found this on youtube. What did these fvckers do to my childhood Quite nice remake actually. The original tune already had some kind of dark edge (for a uber-cheesy pop song, but anyway)
  18. Very good album. Comparing it to the copycat prog-trance which flooded the scene in next few years, I can now see how good Shuma is. I can agree that it's a bit monotonous and the tracks could have more differencies from each other, but it is clearly heard that the music was written because it came from the inside and not because all cool kids are doing this. Even the "the quest is to be deliberated from the negative" sample doesn't seem to be out of place here, unlike most other tracks where it is used
  19. Not this track by chance? EDIT: No, unlikely this one, it has some vocals in the second half.
