  2. Excellent album! Dark, groovy, progressive and all very well put together. I've had this my collection since shortly after it was released and it still holds up very well over repeat listens.
  3. Ital, Earthspace, Ajja and Dust - yum!!! Very interested just for those four tracks but an intro to some new producers, and many of these are new to me, I'm all ears.
  4. PharaOm, oh my!!! "Mighty Sun" - what a beautiful and amazing track and certainly the best down tempo composition I have heard in quite some time. Since PharaOm usually specializes in reckless, fast-paced goa, him slowing things down to introspective levels is pretty impressive but what really grabs me is that in several parts it sounds much like a Tool instrumental and at any moment Maynard's voice could come seeping in like a slow-rolling fog. Great, great piece of work! And, of course, that artwork, well done!
  5. This one is a masterpiece! It's rare that one producer can create two amazing albums in one career (much less two amazing albums in two different styles in one career) but "The Hermit's Sanctuary" and "Nemesis" are complete and stunning works. The highlights for me are the title tracks parts 1-3, those never fail to amaze me and they flow together like a mini-adventure inside a larger adventure. Beautiful piece of work!
  6. I was rather disappointed by this one. I'm a HUGE Kalya Scintilla fan but this one was much, much different than all of his other albums and EPs, it has a large focus on invocations and chants and less of a focus on actual music. A lot of the rhythms feel like recycled ideas that he's already covered. It's an interesting album but not one that I will listen to very often. Whereas a lot of his material is great, dirty, glitchy down tempo, this one feels meditative and clean - too clean for my tastes, I suppose.
  7. Oops! 100% correct on that point. I saw Alwoods in Montreal for NYE last year and really got into Long Life Forest right afterward so it feels like a 2014 release to me. Anyway, I blame Paul Eye (wink wink) he posted it first.
  8. Was not impressed with this one. "The Hermit's Sanctuary," to me, eye of the beholder and all that, is a masterpiece. Like E-Mantra conquered a great goa style I feel he did the same with psychill with that album but here only "Snow Began To Fall" really hit that level of jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring beauty. Everything else feels too ambient or too progressive. This one feels like an artist trying to figure out his next step. It just doesn't feel complete like "The Hermit's Sanctuary" or "Nemesis."
  9. Alwoods, Cosmic Replicant (Soul of the Universe), Solar Quest and Androcell. Alwoods and Cosmic Replicant are great from the very first listen. Solar Quest depends on taste though if you're into dub there's a very good chance you'll enjoy that release. I really like Androcell's Imbue, it's not immediately great like his other releases, you need to hear it at least twice before it all comes together, it's subtle but very, very soothing.
  10. There's a title, an animated gif and two sentences. Where's the tracklist, for instance?
  11. Um, dude, where's the rest of the review?
  12. Always open to a new Dickster release, thanks for doing the review, had not heard about this.
  13. If it's on par with "Out of Body Experience" and "Psy Trance Powers My Space Engines" than September 2015 cannot get here soon enough. I really love this guy's style, he does a real nice blend of psy and goa, I find it's tough to classify him easily as either a psytrance or a goa artist. He's both as far as I'm concerned.
  14. Wow, LSD conquering the polls, way to go!!!
  15. Awesome, really looking forward to hearing this!
  16. It's not an artistic masterpiece by any means but it is some really good full-on party music. It doesn't break any molds but it's far better than the Nano-esque full-on out there. Plus, no metal guitars in any of the tracks. It shows old Boris still has some good ideas kicking around in his head.
  17. Great collection and very thankful for the remastering Boris did with his earlier material. As stated above, the full-on he's done is not anywhere near as good as his early Goa work. That said, though, I'd say he's 2-for-2 in 2014. This collection and "Journeys Into Outer Space" are both worth having with the latter being some very, very good full-on work.
  18. Give #7 another try, that one is gold!!!! Unfortunately, Discogs seems to be down and I can't turn to my usual resource for more info. Anyone have any background info on Noma? Any recommends on more of his(?)/her(?) productions?
  19. The first two volumes are great, definitely looking forward to listening in to this one. There are some talented producers in that tracklist... Edit: The Chronos track is sexy, it's a great listen on many levels, excellent start point for the compilation. I hope the rest of this collection matches up.
  20. Great review and great follow-up comments, all dead-on accurate. Ovnimoon is one of the only names my wife recognizes (she's not good with names) because each time a good track comes on while we're driving she snatches up the iPod to see who it is. Most times, it's Hector or Via Axis or something from the Mysteries of Psytrance trilogy with the Ovnimoon stamp across the artwork.
  21. Solid album, frisky energy throughout, this would work real nice on a dance floor, works just as well on a set of headphones. "Adrenalin Drum" is a nice track, did not care for it during the first couple of minutes but the longer it sticks around the better it gets. "Forest of Fairies" is good and trippy and still has a lot of pop in the energy department. "Source of Power," "The Prophet," "Mysticism".... it straddles the line between progressive and full-on real well. So what would that be classified as? Pure psytrance?
  22. +1 Easily Embarrassed, Radioactive Sandwich and Ekoplex are excellent on this one!
  23. Track list looks impressive, very much looking forward to listening.
