  1. Aye, it's dope! His YouTube channel also contains some great content.
  2. Heh! I just came across this thread literally 10 years to the date while searching for random darkpsy stuff on Google... Not sure if you still check your account, ion1zed, but this track is actually Antagon - 'Traumata'. The VA, for some reason, had the track listing all toPSY-turvy and in an incorrect order. The section from 4:06 - 4:42 is utterly pummelling! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCmAOqaAs7c
  3. Such a great EP! Was worth the wait, for sure.
  4. Hallucinogenic Horses! They comprise of Derango, Donkey Shot, Traskel, Makadam, Drone Bixie, Megalopsy and Uggla, though they do not all feature on the same tracks at the same time...
  5. Meep! This looks amazing... Had the pleasure of listening to 'New Analyze' at my friend's place and I desperately want to nab it! If somebody could reupload this bunch of tracks, I'd be forever grateful.
  6. Yet to hear a psytrance album that surpasses this one. So perfectly crafted. It's the only album I can truly call perfect.
  7. This is definitely my favourite melodic hi-tech track. So unique!
  8. This track by Kashyyyk is ridiculously melodic in a really inventive way. So beautiful!
  9. Still to this day the most psychedelic piece of music I have ever heard. Such a deep album... So abstract. Works VERY well with DMT! Those comb filters + DMT = woah!
  10. Gosh, I haven't heard this track in a long, long while. This is why it surprised me when I later found out that E-Mantra was a Goa act; through this track I'd always assumed that he made psytrance. I have the released Ovnimoon Records CD version somewhere at home which I can upload for you when I find it. I seem to remember the bass having some weird stereo phasing sound to it. Perhaps it was changed to make it sound 'better' through sound systems? (I listened to it via my iPhone, BTW, so maybe the bass does still sound weird and I'm just chattin' shit? ) [Edit]Looks like the producer of the track replied first[/edit]
  11. I have the opposite. Living with my mum and have an out-house studio. But due to my extreme laziness, a lot of the time I can't be bothered to go in there, especially during winter when it is cold. Would love to be able to just get out of bed and go straight onto Cubase, haha. ...And to think that I'm not even a fuckin' stoner. :|
  12. I know what you mean; earphones really are the 'best' in terms of stereo imagery and such. However, Opussszzzs! Hope you get the chance to hear this sound system at some point as it truly is unique. I've never heard I e set up even remotely badly. Hopefully the party my mate and I are playing at tonight will have an Opus. Never played on one before so that'll be a joy if it happens.
  13. Opus, Opus, Opuuuus! Such an underrated sound system. Really crystalline, 'comfortable' sound that is simultaneously heavy as fuck. Plus you can squish into it. Still to hear it in quadraphonic set-up... This would be immense.
  14. Yes, mate! 'Feelings' is by far one of my favourite new school Goa tracks. In fact, that and 'Energy Waves (Positive Mix)' were the first two new school Goa tracks I ever heard and subsequently got into. Such beautiful music.
  15. Is that first article serious or is the journalist generally a n00b? It was probably fucking DMT being vapourised in that crack pipe; and LSD, as far as I know, does not age people in the way he said it does. Hell, people in the psy scene look way more fresh-faced in general over the years than the people who just drink alcohol and smoke crack. This is probably due to living a fulfilled lifestyle full of many happy people inhabiting this mostly wonderful scene. As a side note, I'm fully aware of the parodic nature of the second article as I'm a fan of Vice and their trolling cynicism. That article in particular was funny as it was full of people I know and am friends with in the London scene.
  16. The news reporter's name is Jon Snow. Funnily enough, in around 2010 or so, there used to be an ex-Securicor building that was commonly a used as a psytrance illegal party venue. Anyway, it was (meant to be?) getting demolished and replaced with some new American Embassy or some shit, and Jon Snow was reporting on it. The funny bit is, right at the end of the news story, Jon said, "We've had news just come through that this venue currently hosts the biggest psychedelic trance parties in London. [i'd] better go to one of those!", said with a cheeky glimmer while saying it (making me believe that after doing that video of the RTTS party 'back in the day', he had experienced a psytrance party some time afterwards). S(n)ort of off-topic, but Bruce Parry from the BBC documentary Tribe has been seen numerous times at psy parties, one time apparently seen nasally ingesting 5-MeO-DMT in the Liquid Records tent at Glade Festival in England one year.
  17. While I'm not a particular fan of traditional build-ups, 'Deadroom' by Headroom always has an impact, especially with the drop combined. Nice crazy 303s in there, too.
  18. 'Feelings' is by far one of my favourite Goa tracks. It's just so uplifting but in a totally non-cheesy way. It peaks so perfectly. <3
  19. I may have posted this one before, but fvkk it! This track is ultra intense. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoJqTuioLMQ
  20. 'Frequency Evolution' by Braincell is a really overlooked album, IMO. His other stuff is quite generic but this album is really good. A lot of the melodies remind me of Goa, actually. This is one of my favourite tracks. And who can forget 'Artelligent' by Headroom?! What an album that was. Definitely one of the most creative full on releases ever, IMO. I listened to it again for the first time in about 4 years a couple of weeks ago and it still sounded fresh to my ears. This track is really powerful and actually has a build up and breakdown that sounds good! (:- o!)
  21. Most of my friends are into psytrance, many of whom have been friends for quite a few years now. In my home town, where I still live, however, I have 0 friends into psytrance... One of my friends here loves psychill but absolutely cannot stand upbeat 4/4 trance. To be honest, though, it's kind of refreshing, as it would mean I'd be socialising pretty much 100% with psytrance listeners. Best of both worlds! As for Goa, even among my psytrance friends and acquaintances, I really do not know many people into it. There's only a select few people I know who are truly into it, which is a shame. One of them played Goasia among others at a party last weekend, which was really surprising and brought a huge grin to my face.
