What music are you listening to right now?
alleycat replied to Sputum Rotgut's topic in General Psytrance
NP: Tempus Viator track 10-Red-Laiman Alfa trk 1 in a mix I made last night. (Cafu is good! At times reminding me of Antix, mellow and smooth.) -

NP: Morbidelic dj set: 'Twisted Morbid Set' full of twilight goodies, Digital Talk, Phatmatix, Absolum, that sort. Check it out: http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/...104170/forum/63 He said nice things about my mixes! This set is pretty similar in power and style as my fullon mix (its on here somewhere..) Great track selection! -
You can get a mix of mine here, just follow the directions on the link! http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=44443 Its a hassle to use Mixupload but it keeps the file indefinitely. Nice to see more Americans on here!
-
Uploaded the mix HERE__READ BELOW for special instructions The only way Ive ever found to DL from Mixupload is to go to the main psy mixes list, you should see a bunch of little pics. The one with the alien from my avatar, with different colors, is Psychosensory Manifold. To download it, there is a small pink button next to a larger blue button. The pink button has a down arrow. (DL... duh...) right-click-save-as! If you need login: Login: mudpeople pass: bseven You can leave comments and rate the mix on the site if you like, but honestly the whole 'rating' thing I could give a real big shit about. Im not trying to be Tiesto, shit...

definitely a breath of Swiss... er I mean, Fresh air! Gonna have to pick up that album now!

DES is great! Nice, trippy flying through space stuff. Unique, if I had to Id lump it with Ocelot, Yab Yum and that style, but DES is a bit different. All I heard were teh Psyshop samples, and BAM! Bought it. Love it! EDIT: http://www.myspace.com/digitalenergysystem <According to this, he's from Tromso, Troms, Norway.

Digital Energy System is Norwegian, isnt he?

puke... (I dont mean Rastaliens) NP: PZ2 (Electrypnose vs Zapata vs Elendil)-Des Trip Laids -
pretty nice, oldschool-ish. The bass and kick sound are good but sorta lost behind the synths. Maybe a bit of EQ work on the synths would help? pretty good, sounds like it could be a bit better though. What program do you use to produce?

Ive got a shoulder bag that fits the 2 Case Logics perfectly (from Zia Trance's shop). Im not going to be letting them out of my sight. But if anything should happen, well, I guess its their time to go... Sad, but there's worse things. I dont keep any rare or valuable cds in the cases. Don't have too much to begin with. Well, I guess a few of the cds are out of print already... Ive been thinking of copying them but I never get around to it. Usually Im out at work and don't have access to a cd burner, and the machine at home is pretty old already (not to mention, nuked to SHIT with spy/adware, by my brother who had downloaded about 300 full albums, mostly death metal...) and burns like its steam driven... Sooner or later Ive gotta do it.

Im really beginning to love this style of psytrance! Sorta like Highko and Cosmo but a bit more.... a bit MORE! NP:Track 1-Guinea Pigs-How to Get By in the US -
my cds are VERY important to me, Im not about to trust them to some yazbo baggage handler. They're 98% paid for, the other 2% was dl'ed for FREE I really dont want them out of my sight, especially since I'll need them for the gig... I wouldnt expect any trouble, but like NT said its pretty weird these days. BTW, they're 2 144-disc Case Logics. small enough to fit in the overhead but still bulky... lots of $$ there.
-
I dont think its gotten THAT bad, NT. has it?
-
I didnt think so, but with all the paranoia these days, I just wanted to be sure.
-
Im going to be playing a gig in Vancouver in March, and I'll be flying up there. Im just wondering if its easy, or a hassle at all, to take music and headphones on a plane. THeres no way in hell Im not carrying them on. Its a paranoid country I live in... Thanks!

What happened to Digital Structures and Iboga?
alleycat replied to firebreath's topic in General Psytrance
I dont think you have to worry! Iboga just came out with Nuance, a VA, and Ace Ventura's album is due out sometime this year. Also, Iboga Mexico I think came out with a compo too, recently. Digital Structures, Im sure, is still reaping all the benefits from all the tasty releases last year, Ticon and Vibrasphere in particular. Haven't heard any news about DS though. No worries! They're both gonna be here for a while yet, Im sure! -

How long u take to create a track?
alleycat replied to Kalki's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
when I have that burning inspiration, you know, when you just GOTTA get it out before its gone, I usually will ignore an intro/outro and just make the "meat" of the track, then if I want go back and make a nice intro. Sometimes just making an intro/build adds like 3 minutes to a song already 5 mins long. For me at least. Id love to be able to work on tracks every night but my work situation necessitates that I wait til days off.... -
If I choose the yellow stone over the gold, thats my decision.

After seeing all manner of strange things that people post in response to other's posts about music they enjoy, Ive thought of a few pointers to discuss music and your opinions thereof, without alienating anyone, including yourself! Im not trying to say, "YOU MUST ALL DO THIS." These are some simple courtesies to help us all have a much better, and happier, time discussing the music we love (or not). Do what you will! 1. ALWAYS REMEMBER: Your opinion is only YOUR opinion, and not a fact. Only you can decide what you like for yourself. 2. No one else's opinions are wrong. No opinion is wrong, or right for that matter. Everyone has one. Right or wrong have nothing to do with it. 3. If you don't agree with another's opinion of music, great! But that doesnt mean either of you are idiots for disagreeing. 4. If you don't like the music, thats fine! But that doesnt mean that the music is essentially bad. Others have different perspectives, and may find things enjoyable, which you may not. Thats the way it is. 5. Goa and Psytrance are 2 different things. Comparing Goa to modern psytrance is like comparing Elvis to Yes. Keep that in mind. 6. You can offend people easily when it comes to music they love very much. Keep that in mind, when expressing your opinion. Remember #2. 7. We all can have an amazing time here, sharing opinions and having passionate arguments. But its up to all of us collectively to contribute to this. Arguments are not battles. Remember that when you let emotions govern what you say, reason flies out the window. Try to stay calm! Remember the Special Olympics... thats about all I can think of. Once again Im not trying to manipulate anyone, Im not trying to make rules, and Im DEFINITELY not trying to be a Moderator... It seems to me if we all keep these few courtesies in mind when having discussions we can avoid a lot of grief! But do what you will! (mods: if this is the wrong place, can you move it for me? thanks and sorry! )

My creative process is very much like the process of digestion, the end process.. I sit on the toilet (computer) and ideas fall out (music), then I wipe (polish) Its been more than 3 years since I started trying to make trance, and I still havent got it. But Im not giving up. Ive been a dj for about 6 months now, and I really believe that its helped immensely in my production. I have a much clearer idea of what a song should sound like, what kind of atmospheres, percussion, and especially arrangement. You should've heard my old stuff... In fact Im sure you could find a link to my old Soundclick site around here somewhere...
