  1. To be honest I don't believe PKS's releases are deserving of the sucky label. I agree that some psychill is getting stale, but there's some fresh releases this year that still push the bar. Yes I want innovation in music, but that's extremely hard to find. The best thing is to explore another genre completely - I remember when I was into hard rock/metal a few years back, I wouldn't go near any of this 'psy stuff'. Immediately when I discover Infected, Shpongle etc I think they're amazing because it's a completely different sound to my ears. Too many artists copycat each other, but it doesn't mean the genre sucks.
  2. You mean those who don't have filesharing software?
  3. I have to agree a lot of the psychill is formulaic, but you get that with many releases. I've probably overdosed myself with chill last year and while I'm still into it I'm not snapping up releases left right and center. It's hard to find innovation these days and that's my biggest concern, not that music isn't good, it's that music isn't different any more.
  4. I beg to differ. http://www.twistedrecords.co.uk/shop/catal...ea17fe8e8f6a03b But seeing as you've never even bought any of Twisted's catalogue you wouldn't know these things. That's the biggest insult to Simon.
  5. You can get it from here: http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=40346
  6. As far as I go I've been playing drums for 10+ years, keyboards for 5+ years, been composing since about 14 at school - got an A* in Music GCSE and the highest possible composing mark at A Level (though I got a C overall)... So I've been pretty well advised in composing but that doesn't really matter to me - I just wrote music, that's all I did. I of course was sometimes pointed in the right direction, given small tips by my teachers, but I *wrote* the stuff. Sometimes it's just natural talent.
  7. I've heard their customer service is very good though, not that I've had a problem with them yet - you'll get your CDs.
  8. If you've ordered via Airmail, then it should be okay. I waited at least two and a bit weeks for my Airmail package from Saikosounds. Courier is more expensive but it usually arrives within two days. Email rob at saikosounds dot com if you're concerned...
  9. Shaft

    No title

    Good luck Kris.
  10. 'Old-skool' artists that aren't selling out sell roughly 1000-2000 copies / album. The (big) fullon acts like Skazi and co nowadays will sell tens of thousands, they're the ones that get rich and famous.
  11. They're all quite techy, and while I like tech to some degree I don't much like these. Your latest header is looking promising though.
  12. Happy to support a label that's releasing quality journeys (see what I did there?) Keep up the good work PKS!
  13. Yeah it's a shame, never mind though, still 9 other great tracks Yes you're right, I think it must be a typo on the first post.
  14. Yeah. I must have put in at least a grand back into PsyShop over this last year.
  15. Mmm, that was a 5 star track until that point. I had to knock it down to 4 stars, but come on! That sample has been done to death so many times...
  16. Yeah, complete waste of dough if you ask me. Anyways, I got my order today - seems that Psyshop ran out of the UFS1 comp so I recieved UFS2 instead, it's not bad but I wanted the UFS1 comp for the three IM tracks, Devil (Final Remix) in particular. No matter. Been listening to the Chillcode comp this evening and it is an absolute belter. Definitely pick this up if you're into chill.
  17. There is. It's called factory patches.
  18. Actually Simon wrote that under Hallucinogen, not Shpongle.
  19. Yeah, providing I don't get frustrated and give up.
  20. Thanks guys, my full length track Awaken should be released on chatnik's chillout comp (free net release) but I don't know how long he will keep it before releasing! So just hold on for a while. + Hopefully there will be an album in the pipeline soon, fingers crossed!
  21. Yeah I'm in, under ambient/experimental (if you don't mind )
  22. Astral Projection - Trust In Trance
