  2. My two pennies... Even though the scene as we knew it is pretty much disappeared and been replaced by some neo full-on Skazi worshipping pop trance - we still have exceptions to this - Sundance, Suntrip etc producing original music that we used to know before all this crap. And of course there is progressive psytrance (house ) which I'm getting into. As for Infected, well I haven't bought anything from them since B.P Empire (which is an absolutely genious album - why didn't the scene go THIS way? [whole post in itself isn't it!]) - and I don't intend to, apart from The Gathering/B.P Empire CD5", because I know that I don't like their style now. They are still extremely talented, but that's not enough - they've said themselves that they make music for the crowd, and that's the way the scene has gone - the crowd have now turned into a bunch of candy raving kids. Anyway, I'm still going to support the progressive side of the scene and the labels that will push out great music. As long as good music is released then all is not lost.

I like his sound, I wouldn't say it was as crazy/deep/hyper as Infected were - obviously draws heavily from them on his debut album. Though I was listening to the album a lot over the past week and some parts of it are just brilliance: 1. First Ray Of Light: Probably the best downtempo attempt I've heard from a predominately psytrance artist. Crazy track. 3. Trust No Goblin: The break in the middle of the track is like the first track, tribal sounding and very cool. Also love the raw bassline and kick in this one. 9. Rebirth: This one I could just listen to for the deep, ambient intro which runs for some time - then the track changes completely. So yes there are some really good tracks - and what I listened to of his new album (some short samples in Artist News) it sounds more 'developed' and it's like he's got a style to call his own. It's great that artists are still producing good psy-trance - funky/melodic/twisted! I look forward to the new album and his future material.
  5. Shulman does, but I haven't seen it so I don't know whether it is actually live or not...

  7. You always over exaggerate.
  8. Lol. Crappy music? I don't think Shpongle was ever intended to be chillout, I don't find it on the whole relaxing per se - what has to be said is that Simon + Raja have been influenced by ambient/chill out pieces, and have thrown in inspirations from world music, psychedelic trance, drum and bass etc, and the whole effect is a hypnotic, bubbling concoction - more experimental than actual chillout. In fact I for one would be hard pushed to actually tie it down to a genre, because that's not the point. It's just music. Whether or not it's crap is entirely down to your taste. And all the highlights on the first album?? Lol. 9. Found the front covers... Discogs Front Cover Larger Front Cover on Chaishop For scans you'll probably have to ask the people who own it: On this forum (according to Discogs), PKS, ProSect and Tatsu have an original. Try PM'ing them.
  10. I just was listening to the Peyote Demo you were working on months ago. Has anything become of it? Really good tune by the way!
  11. Usually with large record labels, the cost of the recording studios are absorbed by the label - this isn't the case in this scene. (correct me if I'm wrong)
  12. What does that have to do with downloading?
  13. Me too. Infact I'll keep buying CDs because I like the physical product, to actually hold it in my hand. An MP3 file doesn't mean shit to me.
  14. You got to remember that $1 for a commercial track is not the same as $1 for a psy track - psy tracks are often twice, maybe three times a commercial tracks length. It's not profitable for labels to sell the tracks for $1 because then the money would all go to the bandwidth bill, not the artists.

It WAS Trust In Trance 3 and first got released as that name - but then got it's name changed. Original: http://www.discogs.com/release/156240 Later version: http://www.discogs.com/release/41508
  16. FREq - Stone Shaker The track is an absolute belter.
  17. No no, what I meant was he looked like a good guitarist, and the pieces were great too
  18. He's a mixed bag of tricks... Sometimes Raja is involved in something extremely special, sometimes extremely crap. I do admire his flute work, but I feel Simon contributes more to the Shpongle project...
  19. PKS, you haven't updated your website in months, when are you updating?
