  1. You can enable downloads on soundcloud. It's the clicking of a box.
  2. Yeah, I really like the UX cover. A good cover not only reproduces the original, it also brings something new to the table. UX's version of Radioactivity is a beautiful retelling of the Kraftwerk story and I'm definitely playing it in a set sometime
  3. This one? http://goaconstrictor.com/music/fabulous-christmas/ http://goaconstrictor.com/audio/fabulous_christmas.mp3
  4. I think I'll be able to do something moderate during a summer afternoon BBQ. I'm thinking that I can do fairly well in the basement though, since it'll be more dampened by the earth around it.
  5. I bought a house to listen to psytrance in. Not sure if that counts though
  6. I've always had a special place in my heart for Plastic. It's slow, deep, pulses with intense psychedelia, and really channels the energy of UFO encounter.
  7. See!! This thread just got awesome =)
  8. This thread would be way cooler if it was filled with tracks that don't have YouTube videos, thereby forcing people to seek out the recommendations through other means. Kind of a scavenger hunt of sorts... :-)
  9. Classic Space Tribe is something that had to be experienced at that moment. It didn't necessarily age well, but it was an extremely stepping stone to where we are today.

  11. If you ever throw a party in Oregon, USA; I promise to attend.
  12. This album is one of my Top 10 Psychedelic Albums of All Time. Probably in the Top 5 or Top 3 (if I really sat down and tried to piece such a list together). Seeing Anoebis' first review of 2.5 is hilarious. lololololol Maybe it's grown on him since then, but LMFAO. This album is a solid 10 of psychedelic wonder. If you can get it, do so.
  13. Wait. Does this person not know that this track is a cover of a rather famous (and awesome) Kraftwerk track?
  14. ^^^^^^^^^^^ this. 1000%
  15. I guess both. I mainly use two analog synths: Waldorf Pulse and Juno 106 That said, I have been playing around with Ableton's Melody -> Midi conversions with my guitar and then simply applying a soft synth internally on top of those midi notes. I may very well route those to the Pulse or something, but for now they are chilling internally. I have no problems with soft synths. I definitely use a fake 303 emulator as well. I just really love the psychedelic crisp sounds from my Waldorf and the warmth of the 106 together. They pair and accompany each other greatly. And, much like the conversation in another thread about being forced to write within a framework or within boundaries, having a smaller selection of tools to use can keep things sounding cohesive and also force new approaches to reach common goals.
  16. This is such a grossly misleading statement. It is not GONE for whoever bought it. Bandcamp cannot get onto your computer and delete files. If you are only streaming items, then you really aren't buying the album anyway. If you paid for the album, you download the item. Your purchase doesn't include free cloud storage. It does include free streaming, but that's not what you paid for. You paid for the download. The stream is a bonus. Again, Bandcamp CANNOT delete items you paid for.
  17. Some of that got released on the Bus "Morebusinesslinkyouthere" album and the two Gus Till Best of the Flying Rhino Years compilations from Sonic Dragon Records, but I'm curious too about potential missing tracks and also different versions of the tracks which did get released. Quite curious...
  18. Music for the Jilted Generation came out over a year before Hackers was released (probably before it even went in front of the cameras). Voodoo People and One Love are both solidly Music for the Jilted Generation tracks. I think both fit in greatly and that album is a top to bottom classic.
  19. I disagree with this last statement. While much commercial product can be bad, having rules or a recipe are not necessarily a detriment to creativity. Sometimes having some guidelines and a canvas to paint within brings forth creativity and inspiration. Stories are mostly written in a five act structure and those boundaries/rules/recipes sometimes force you into making choices which are beneficial to the story. Obviously, this is not how everyone will approach these things, but that's my point. An artist's work should be judged independently of the platform it is released in. If someone is releasing music with a commercial angle, that doesn't immediately mean it is without artistic merit or complexity...
  20. No, I don't really listen to it. My friends do. But when they play it, I'm generally into it, unlike other stuff they'll sometimes play.
  21. Didn't Paul Oakenfold commercialize this back in the 90s? Then Infected Mushroom in the 2000s? Psytrance will always be fringe because hippies are annoying and weird fast squiggly sounds aren't radio friendly enough. Not sure what the commotion is...
  22. I've got a lot of friends who love this stuff I'm into it. I like the weird way that the artists write their names. It's fun, playful, and gothic.
