  1. This statement is spiral, they said exactly the same thing before about Astral Projection bringing cheesiness to goatrance, and you can check forums for the same phrase regarding later albums, which took other directions. You can even change 'goatrance' to any other genre's name and it can be applied to any musical context. Psychedelic trance is evolving and albums like this one, though I don't enjoy it, take the genre to the new horizons and it's normal.
  2. Totally new to everything I've ever heard by him before, it's melodic ambient though the melodies are subtle, and it's beatless.
  3. KiloWatts — Undercurrent (Somnia) 2009 Somnia is proud to present a new album from electronic mastermind composer kilowatts, already well known from his releases on dirtybird, thoughtless music, nativestate records, and more. a deep and timeless ambient journey designed for heart activation and inner exploration. “With this album, I wanted to focus on the essence of melody and expose it in a raw form through the electronic medium. the source of the main melodies came from repetitive hooks I found myself sporadically singing or humming during day to day business. think of the joyful tunes whistled during a walk. these melodic mantras seem to pop up out of nowhere and go on repeating forever. When I'd notice this, I'd hang onto the melody until I could get to the studio and bang it out, no matter how obvious or straightforward it was. once the main melodies and inflections were out, I could carefully construct an audio bedding for them and see where it led. from a larger perspective, I felt that the search for these melodies was similar to unearthing subconscious archetypes that drive reality. the process was like discovering an ever-flowing undercurrent of reality that can be translated directly into melody. In this case, it felt that the source of them all must absolutely be love.” - kilowatts Limited to 777 copies worldwide, soy inks on recycled paper, sewn and sealed in wax with incredible cover art by ray massini http://www.somniasound.com/releases.htm Somehow the new somnia release didn't get enough attention, so here you go. Enjoying this at the moment
  4. OK, after a while I listened to this, then I listened to this for about 30 more times and I think it's flawless. Truly remarkable, a must have for everyone. 4.95/5 (74 votes) @ discogs.com. What could you add? What I'd like to know is what part did Steve Hillage play in the creation of this album? Does anyone know? His influence is so subtle, but very effective. The most enjoyed Somnia release.
  5. Check Braincell, Solar Spectrum is his side-project.
  6. There's a thread in the other subforum here. I've got Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro, but I'd rather go for DT880 (can't imagine more comfortable headphones than beyers, I can wear them for hours), Sennheiser HD600/650 or AKGs, never heard AT, so can't comment. What you also need is a good audio-card and an amplifier. All of these HPs are high impedance and need more power to perform well and good DA converter to give you all these little details.
  7. VA - Permutations 2 [Zenon 2009] I'm at track 4 and it might be my headphones that I haven't used lately or it's like the quintessence of Zenon. Detailed, well produced, hypnotic... oh, well Maybe I just missed zenon's sound so much and it's nothing special, time will tell.
  8. After 6 months I have to say this is one of my favourite Ultimae albums and probably their most underrated one.
  9. 3 listens, yet to hear it with my headphones. Nothing attracts me. I hope it's like Solar Fields and good sound system it performes well with... will see.
  10. I've read somewhere that they are working on an album that should get released this year. It must be interesting after Minilogue and IMPS no matter if it's psytrance or whatever.
  11. This album is amazing, In the Heaven's Eye is my favourite Filteria track to date I feel sorry for guys listening to this in mp3 format... it's like having sex with artificial women.
  12. It's subtle, nothing special on the top, dig in to fully appreciate it.
  13. If I'm not mistaken, I've read about a new Sync24 album too, so that makes albums. Oh, I wish I had a better sound system =]
  14. Australian wild west country music Nothinbg groundbreaking, but funny and interesting.
  15. Their member's project Chromosome has released an album recently. http://www.discogs.com/Chromosome-DMT-Cowb...release/1588776
