  1. minimal experimental chill... there's a gazillion artists out there.. Global Communication Pete Namlook Atomheart Steve Roach Ryoji Ikeda Zoviet France Nurse with Wound Tactile (some) Coil ..for a start
  2. There's a Noble Savage track on Resoearth that's pretty jazzy. Mr. Spindrift could probably be more exact w/the name and all..
  3. I can't stand most of the new dark stuff, too monotonous and repetitive.. Noble Savage I like.. also Talpa, Transdriver, Derango, GOW, Jahbo and Alrune, Fractal Cowboys (!!!!), Mubali, and everybody on that new Sanaton Records comp. good stuff. would like to hear new Ocelot.
  4. Yeah, I heard most of that stuff.. some of it is really nice. Though, in general, Skinny Puppy isn't always my cup of tea. Personally, I like more tweak and less abrasiveness, like Haujobb for examle. As for the album, Otto von Schirach presence might explain the drill'n'bass, at least..Schematics stuff rocks. Richard Devine blew me away last year - the single most psychedelic live set i've ever heard. by a long shot.
  5. It was produced in collaboration with Otto von Schirach, of Schematics fame. That might explain the IDMish feel. I'd like to hear it, actually..
  6. Front 242, Coil, Einsturzende Neubaten, Genesis P'Orridge... the industrial roots. the dark side of electronic music. and Chemical Brothers?? they might be popular, but influential? no. at least not compared to Plastikman or New Order or Happy Mondays, for instance.
  7. you should.. some of the sounds on this album will change psychedelic music forever, imo.
  8. farking awesome. the most impressed I've been with an album in a really long time.
  9. Aurinko is still functional? anyway, I can't do just 3... mine are prolly Sanaton/Apoxina >>for nighttime Surreal Audio/Fabula Records >>psy-funk Alchemy/Phantasm >>morning psy and more..
  10. i'm a big fan of swedish forest music.. not so much dark as twisted and twangy. old oerebro and schlabbaduerst compilations, also parvati and apoxina from denmark. Most Russian stuff is too mechanical for me, not organic enough. and please don't call Chemical Crew trance.
  11. you guys should get out more. j/k
  12. I think Ketuh is stretching itself too thin by releasing so many new compilations.. The quality is decent, mostly pretty solid banging tracks, but I wouldn't call them mindblowing by any means. Their first couple of compilations were great, though. just my opinion..
  13. it's ok.. some nice tracks, but nothing very special, imo.
  14. Slinky Wizard - License to Slink is pretty damn long.. about 15 minutes, I think. I've got it on vinyl, and don't feel like using the stopwatch.
  15. There's an older Gappeq/Transdriver split compilation. It was released in the Czech republic, 2002 I think. A few real nice tracks on there, but his new stuff is def. more well-rounded.
  16. I don't think the answers should be limited to just old school - he asked for psy AND goa.. so for me, it is Osom - Over Game
  17. yeah.. i would get in touch with Tsunami and see if they are willing to put you on the list. could maybe post on Isratrance North American section, I think they lurk on that forum.
  18. I don't hate the cover.. the predominant color is "melted cheddar", though, and those holes in the Shpongle name totally remind me of Swiss cheese.
  19. yeah, funny that Realmedia and WMA perform much better than MP3 in low rate encoding (up to 160kbps) but around 192 and up, mp3 has much higher quality. would like to see a tracklist plz.
  20. Tsunami isn't known for good taste in artwork.. On Fri before that Simon is playing along with Hujaboy at Spirit also in NYC. Should be a good weekend to travel to New York. Too bad I can't take off work for that long.
  21. or the new NRS album. Kick Drum Inertia - is that the name?
  22. for good psy-techno try Weird Walker Spirallianz Midi Miliz X-Dream - Radio and Irritant Phony Orphants Kino Oko Kuro Charm M.O.S. Parasense anything on Psyristor, Boshke Beats and Horns and Hoofs records
  23. Nexus album is very, very far from essential. Isn't he asking for psy-tech recommendations??
  24. it might be on the CD but not on the vinyl..
  25. Mind Merge is a great track, but I don't find it as "intense" as the Beast. Also classic Cydonia tracks are pretty damn intense. King of New York, Phreaky-Tornado, etc.
