I think the latest album is by far the weakest of the three.
  3. the album was crap, crap, crap. but everything they've released on compilations and their old unr. are spectacular. . maybe they'll go back to that now?
  4. Talpa is <extremely> psychedelic. there's a lot more there than just melodies - lots of sounds and layers and textures. I'll take it over Classical any day. but guess tastes differ.
  5. some friends of mine just heard Talpa at a festival in Belgium - they said they just stood there in awe - the music was simply amazing. so don't listen to Gnome, he's just too cool for it.
  6. god, when are you people gonna get over Skazi and etc crap? it's not trance, it's a totally different music, has nothing to do with psytrance at all. just let it go, will ya? /rant
  7. it's evolving, I think. Actually, the basslines are getting closer to the rolling old-school kind, only with a lot more 'oomph'. and growing melodies, too.. Check out the new Eskimo/Dynamo stuff for an example of that style. Most of it is still not very good, but it's getting better, imo.
  8. so when did you run out of humor? 1997?
  9. are you erm.. projecting again? in that case, please aim at the wall, mmmkay?
  10. erm.. i dunno about that sounding like old school, really.. a bit too epic for my taste.
  11. it's mostly single tracks on various compilaitons... i'll give you a list of some amazing shit when i have some more time. and yes, it's still 95% crap, but THAT'S HOW IT ALWAYS IS. 95% of old Goa is crap, too.
  12. maybe because it's 2005 now? well, that's why I keep telling y'all - quit being so stubborn, expand your horizons, go listen to some new artists, you might be pleasantly surprised.
  13. 'cause he's head and shoulders above the others. Nystagmus is also melodic, yes.. on the same label as Talpa. but how they are neo-Goa is still beyond me. I mean, half the Israeli trance is melodic, but you don't call it 'neo-Goa.'
  14. dude, are you stuck in 1997? hmm... go listen to some new artists, why don't ya? you might be pleasantly surprised.
  15. Talpa doesn't belong in this poll. it has nothing to do with neo-Goa. thank freakin god.
  16. maybe you should expand to hear some other music besides IM and Hallucinogen. and no, not an ideal - it should be common practice. I try to do it with every DJ set I play, and so do some other DJs and Artists I know.
  17. go ask on Isratrance if you really want to know.. obviously they're all funny guys here.
  18. not sure if i said before, but moving the crowd is pretty much the easiest/first thing you learn to do as a DJ. the challenge is to move the crowd and get them to experience/learn/journey to places they haven't before. And bring them back safely.
  19. hmmm.. perhaps. 'raw' is good, though. i meant 'unadulterated'. better?
  20. i played talpa on many different systems from car stereo to clubs to the 60 kW outdoor in the desert, and yeah, it's not as good production as, say, Astrix or whatever, but it ain't that bad at all. It's playable, and nobody ever said "ewww, that sounds bad" - usually the opposite. Tellus 2 new album has abominable production. eek. crap.
  21. listened to it again today - better than i thought, though nowhere near their potential, imo. and true, there are some old school lines, and a few beautiful moments in some tracks, but they don't last, unfortunately. oh well.
