  1. nah, i just find it psychedelic, all the scary fx are so tongue in cheek, they make me laugh my ass off. Some older stuff like Darshan, Tim Schuldt, Cydonia, Delta, 12 Moons, can be quite spooky and have well made atmospheric horror. But music like Xenomorph or ANY of the dark artists of today makes me laugh. It's just all these sounds, samples, whatever, they remind me of Scooby Doo, cartoon horror type stuff. It's all tongue in cheek horror, imo. Makes for very fun music, though.
  2. i think he meant "dark psy" which is not scary at all. you know, stuff like matutero, kindzadza, ocelot, whatever..
  3. try some Coil, Current 93, Death in June... if you want truly dark music.
  4. there's some killer House with vocals.. Chicago House especially.
  5. I think 2.7% pitch shift is one full key up or down.. though i could be off, since I usually don't do it by the % points. I am pretty sure there was some thread on it on Isratrance last year. I've noticed in the last 2 years I've started picking tracks that are in key - playing it by ear, mostly. I do have a pretty extensive musical background and good sense of pitch, so I can usually tell when there's a disharmony between two tracks. I heard there's software you can use to tell the pitch of a song.. but really, I think doing it by ear is the way to go. IMO. cheers
  6. for some funny reason, so-called "dark" psy doesn't sound scary to me at all when I am in an alternate mental universe. It sounds more funny, trippy, and extremely entertaining. then again I am pretty seasoned, having been to some extremely dark psychedelic places in the past (came out alive ), and listening to a lot of goth/industrial back in the early 90s.. nothing in the psy universe nearly as dark as that stuff. I do get scared listening to some cookie-cutter Timecode or Chemical Crew stuff like Toxic or Skazi. oh, and Spirallianz and Opsis - that stuff is pretty dark suspenseful psy-EBM. But not so much of that lately.
  7. lol ok, just please don't pout.
  8. maybe i didn't take it as a joke..
  9. There's some excellent country music, for your information. Just there's some excellent RnB, Hippie music, Metal, Gangsta Rap, whatever. No genre is BAD in itself. and I am sorry EP, but your bitching is annoying as hell because you tend to generalize and bitch about music you THINK sounds all the same when you only heard the tiniest slice of it - but your bitching at least comes from someone who knows music and who's been around and had time to form educated opinions - so it's easier to accept and argue with. Cinos, on the other hand, has not a clue about most music and bases his opinions on the very few albums he has heard - and states them with the aplomb of someone who actually _knows_ something about music when in reality he knows zilch. So no, it's not pleasant when someone ignorant like that debases a piece of music that you respect.
  10. yeah, you also think BP Empire is a classic. btw, Headware is a great album. killargh..
  11. hmm.. good luck finding it, my friend. I _really_ doubt you can find it on the p2p. they usually keep pretty close tabs on this shit. though if you do, let me know, ok?
  12. psychedelic chillout is so fucking overdone. please no more of this "girl singing, didgeridoo wailing, spaced-out synths cheesing out in melody, on top of some generic tribal drum beat", it's so OLD.
  13. I don't think this album is released.. seems like either Nystagmus is a year off, or Sundance is pulling their "let's wait a year or two before releasing another gem" thing. So typical. they pulled the same shit with the Talpa album, released it 2 years after it was ready. fucking wankers.
  14. Representing Greenland. hehe.. though I've been to Azerbadjan, and lemme tell you.... it's just ain't happening.
  15. sure you've got enough paper for all my roxxx??
  16. This thread makes no sense. What makes Human Blue forest music? What IS forest music? I tend to think it's more in the vein of Oerebro, Stoneage, and Schlabbaduerst swedish music. Derango, for example, is great forest music. so can we have some clarification please?
  17. 144 probably 80% of the time. If I play peak time and everybody is real high, maybe 147. 150 of real psychedelic stuff I like to listen to when I'm flying.. 140 for an early night or late morning set.
  18. actually, 2 albums, with a third one in the works.
  19. dude, you don't have Osom - Over Game???? only the best dark pounding track ever.
  20. sounds nice for listening in bed.. I am waiting for albums from Gappeq, Transdriver, and Fractal Cowboys. ooh yeah.
  21. hmm.. every Ketuh release has at least 2-3 outstanding tracks. which is more than you can say about almost any other label.
  22. really? or are you just fantasizing about simon's digitally enhanced tits?
  23. Kopfuss Resonator is pretty damn good, too.
  24. I like a few of the recent Orion tunes. High quality morning dancefloor material, much better than the regular "full-on" bullshit.
