good that you address this, I feel the same ... not about Aes Dana in particular though but still, I don't like when people throw all Ultimae stuff into one pot ... the artists on there have still pretty different styles...
-
same here... the ott-style dub doesn't fit in this one ... and he forgot the best melody in the song altogether...
-
I first read "the abasio brothers" their style's almotst too soft for me already...

oh god, PLEASE never stop releasing physical media! digital releases are unpersonal and somewhat "cheap" to me ... real devotion I can only show for releases that come in physical format, I can touch them, I can look at the booklet (even though it's mostly just an inlet), I feel like I really own something! Digital releases I associate with unpersonality and "don't care" attitude ... something that you could as well download for free with some p2p software. In the past I had a ton of digital releases on my HD and listened to maybe a quarter of them. And I fear that this will be the case again when releases only come in digital form anymore... there's a nice dscussion about this in the thread about CompactSticks in the Music Making/Production Industry subforum ... look it up

wubby wub, I love my old retro Eurodance oh yeah, Abe's Oddysey was an absolutely great game! And Abe's Exoddus was totally cool aswell ... exploding farts! EXPLODING FARTS! too bad Munch's Oddyssey was an xbox exclusive, I kinda lost track of the Oddworld series there. But 2d jump'n'run is much better style than 3d IMO... by the way, there's another Music Instructor video where Abe's got a brief appearance (and the Glukkons and a Slig too!): ... and actually I like that song much much better than Get Freaky. By the way, I don't really know, but didn't Music Instructor kinda continue their music with the Flying Steps project, with the breakdancers as support? This song of them: ... it reminds me a lot of what could have become of Music Instructor ... and it's awesome btw.

Man With No Name - Seratonin Sunrise (lyrics)
RTP replied to Malevol3nt's topic in General Psytrance
I always thought it was "sounds like the kids gonna face sm-sex!" I listened to that one right now and found it awesome. it's much more intense and that "da-da!" effect in the main melody cracks me up :posford: oh and btw: "Seratonin Sunrise - pay the price for last night's experiments!" ... that punch line I already etched on my desk in gymnasium! god damn, that was seven years ago! awesome -
you all forgot: earplugs seriously, put something in your ear ... I always drill my own ones out of handkerchief stripes, I find it pays off for me, they don't dampen too much, yet the sound is still a bit less biting in the ears and I have no tinnitus experiences anymore the days afterwards have fun!

I think Bahamut's your best bet on this ... do what he says I got Klaus Schulze - "X", Tangerine Dream - both Phaedra & Quichotte, Jean Michel Jarre - both Oxygene & Equinoxe... not a spectacular collection, but I got them all dirt cheap on vinyl because I was digging through a few cartons at a record fair ... record fairs can be a good bet if you want old ambient vinyls and are not despised by the smell of cellars (they do all smell of cellar )...

a myspace artist/label list? that's sysiphus work imo ... there are soooo many! and you can't just say "let's make a list of only the major ones" ... define what major is ... I'd want to have Matenda in the list aswell for example ... and in the end you've got hundreds of users suggesting hundreds, even thousands of artists! well, but if you want do the work ... I wish you nice working

Ha, I'm happy to see that Only Planet was the track from that set posted some time ago ... loved that one! thanks for the news, I totally forgot to add Eat Static ... how could I!

well, my beginnings were with stuff like E-Rotic - Fred, Come to Bed (we used to make fun of it in school) ... and then Dune - Million Miles from Home and Mr. President - Coco Jambo and all the other stuff on the Bravo Hits CDs ... I actually don't wanna get into that... and later there was the better stuff, some of it which I still like today: Dance 2 Trance - Power of American Natives : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9UsNZIInjo ... and it was exactly this version, the '98 one! 11 years ago, I was 13 back then, yep, yep, that was my favourite song ... aaah, the memories, definitely the best one Then there was Vertigo - Magic Eyes : ... loved that one! DJ Quicksilver deserves a mention too! Here's Escape to Paradise : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FViRmIqCQY4 And Music Instructor ... omg, I loved them, still like them ... they were the only ones with an Abe (from Oddworld, does anybody know?) video and I was a crazy Oddworld fan back then (still love the first two Abe games!) ... here's Get Freaky : And then there was Phil Fuldner - The Final. Absolutely cool tune because I got such a strong memory of it. This was the first time I expereinced sensations from actually simple sounds and got to see that electronic music can be art : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wirlQI4GD04

that one is good aswell... but nothing against Protektor, especially that video ... trippiest ever, blow ya mind:

whoa! thanks a lot! this is probably the coolest lineup ever

where the *#&%§ did you guys find the line up for this year's Ozora? I can't see it on the official site? If Shpongle came I'd probably be there aswell. Gotta make it there finally now after saying to go there once since three years! And this would save me the flight to London...

Well, I don't like Coldplay ... but I acknowledge it when people are into it. What do I know. My musical territory has shifted greatly compared to what I was into 8 years ago, so I know I better stop bitching about stuff because in the end I might end up liking what I bitched about and having a weird feeling of stupid-ness (as it's my case with metal, hehe). And you can't educate people to like electronic music. First it won't work and second it would just be wrong, you'll come across as an intolerant idiot. Granted, it's difficult to find people into our specific kind of music, but when you want to be in the underground and flee the mainstream that's the price you gotta pay for it! Or would you prefer if psy was mainstream? Some movements in that direction are greatly disliked by many among us ... and by me too. I have maybe one friend who's into psy and into the stuff I like. The rest are tolerant folks who respect my taste, but don't want that I play it to them ... and that's how it's okay for me. I don't wanna change that. If you are together with the right people it doesn't matter who's into what kind of music, you'll all have a great time! Oh and at wahtever non-psy parties I go to or in bars I wouldn't want psy music anyway, it just doesn't fit there anyway, no matter if anybody liked it or not! There I like this more "popular" music with vocals ... while others "listen" to that (which they don't, because carefully listning with attention is something different), I can put it off as background noise. And voila, everybody is happy.

sheeeesh ... go get Puppy NOW! That's an order, soldier! seriously ... I found Puppy better than Risotto ... although the latter one is great aswell. I especially like the cover art on Risotto. Makes me wanna buy such a mixer. oh yes and thread merge plz
-
ha, they'll come here on march 8th ... but I won't go... I don't like them enough to pay the ticket. They've got some very good pieces, but I feel I'm not fully into them. The songs Invaders Must Die and Omen off their myspace sound quite solid though ... better than what I've heard from Always Outnumbered Never Outgunned...
-
oh the horror... I never liked her, not even as I was 12 years old. The music is terrible. This is so crappy that it's not even retro for me. Dude, you already got my respect for the Fluke thread ... but now you blew it
-
bwahaha, I remember the talks about this one That just screams for a facepalm. I've never seen a broadsword more out of place.
-
hey, that's nice ... I like the sound, you described it well, it comes across fresh! I especially like how the sample is used in the later part ... most artists use the samples in a cheesy and generic way, this one has a funny and fresh twist! instant add
-
yes, yes, yes! FLUKE is awesome :posford: I love their album Puppy ... as well as Risotto. Even Six Wheels On My Wagon is great! Oto I don't own yet ... still have to buy that one. I think I started a thread about them myself here some years ago ... go find it and there was somebody that recommended me a group similar to them ... which had one of the Fluke guys in it and was awesome aswell ... SYNTAX was the name, ha, I still remember it by the way, here you go, FLUKE - BULLET; best music video EVER (because of a personal reason, these guys read the thoughts I had as a kid ): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCDq60hMxZk edit: HOORAY, I found my old thread: http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=7541

well, they do matter to me... I'm not into this for profound drug-related mystical experiences, I'm into it mostly because of the sound (I just like it) and because I can think better when listening to this music (yes, I can ... I also can work better ... it's like the metronome for my life, when the sound is there it's so easy to do things) ... and because of the endorphines I get when running to it. Yep, that is it. I have found that out. And concerning the fullon or darkpsy I listened to I found out I probably did that just for one purpose (that would go too far now if I explained that) ... and now that I know the purpose it has lost its attractiveness. The only thing that remains for me is electronic music as a rhythm giver, as a source of ideas and creative thoughts and happiness. That's my way ... and that's also the reason I'll never stop listening to electronica ... it will just get less and less intense and more an more minimal in the future (that has already begun, but now that I believe to know the real purpose why I seem to like the music (behind the veil, you know) I'll switch down with the radicalness and get started with the stuff that can bring me further personally ... complex topic, I know, maybe I'll rambel about it again when drunk...)... Anyway, what I wanted to say: no profound mystical meaning or experience for me, please. I realized I'm not on the search for that type of stuff ... and I don't want psytrace to become some sort of spiritual source for the holy grail or something. I'm just enjoying the sound

it's an easy way to distinguish between whether a person is really into this music or not... noobs and casual visitors call it "goa" -- as in "I'm just off to a goa party tonight" -- while people that really are into it classify it as psytrance, prog, fullon, oldschool, minimal etc... at least that's a rule of thumb. on the other hand I myself use the term, because when I use it, everybody seems to know what I'm talking about ... but when I use the term progressive for instance, then people tend not to know what I mean.
