finally somebody addresses it ... I couldn't think about anything else as I read his post ... writing long posts with that pic is counterproductive anyways, yeah, I agree with the mentioning of Solar Fields ... and his newest one won't put an end to the flow either
-
that's a joke, right? please say it's a joke!

It doesn't really matter too much in my case, because I neither have really good monitors nor really good headphones, but overall I'm tending to speakers because I don't wanna ruin my ears with the headphones. Only in the evening I use headphones, I live in a very noisy flat (you can hear the neighbour brushing his teeth), don't want to make people call police at night. Sound-quality wise it differs. The sound system my computer is hooked to is crap, headphone sound is much better in that case, but especially when playing vinyl over my stereo the sound is much, muuch nicer from the speakers than from headphones...

I just got lucky as I bought a ticket for the new year's eve party... They gave me the free CD Materia - Out of Tune because I bought the ticket so early and they had CD sale, so I looked through and found Greed - Greed's Temptation for just 5 euros. I guess I can't go wrong with that...

Check out the track Uthul Khulture by Sephiroth, I bet you'll like that one. You can find a sample of it there: http://www.coldmeat.se/sounds/sounds_sephiroth.html Unfortunately the guy is rather producing dark ambient, so the rest of the stuff might not exactly be what you search for. But it's the only hint I know... Good tribal industrial is what I'm thirsty for aswell, but I don't know much in that sector.

IMO Eat Static are one of the rather well known goa/psy bands because they're already around for so long ... but anyway. They just don't get that many bookings outside the UK. That is some sort of a "syndrome" if I may say so ... Banco De Gaia has the exact same ... lots of playing in UK, not much outside... But that's kinda the same with every band ... Astral Projection do play a lot in Israel for example... But yes, I definitely have to come over to the UK for one of these big festivals someday. I imagine that they have a very characteristic atmosphere which won't be found elsewhere... and btw, I bet Mars was on that party in Paris the videos are from ... anybody spot him?
-
great videos... hell, I gotta see Merv playing before he abandons the project altogether! Eat Static is very high up my "must see live before death" list! The crap is, he's mostly playing in the UK. Like on 24th January for example ... Brighton, how am I supposed to get there? I don't have the money for a flight ticket and whatnot, I could barely afford the entry if he was playing here near my doorstep!

Totschläger That cover is actually hilarious ... and doesn't it show the burning down of the loveparade in the background?
-
Kincajou (Wild Monkey Fever Remix)!!! but "Kara-Kum Edit" from his Myspace is actually FREAKIN' awesome ... almost better than all other stuff I know from him, that melody is soooo ... enlightening

Do you think that the Psytrance scene is a subculture?
RTP replied to Ormion's topic in General Psytrance
I absolutely agree. Yard Hippie's right. We do have a subculture, but ours is more diluted (because of the reason stated above ... and also because of other reasons ... for example I don't dress like a typical goahead myself and I'm also not that much of a shiva/ganesha/hippie fan). And it's not so "hardcore" as others (since tolerance is one of the main pillars in our "codex" if I may say so). But yes, we do have it. I always am reminded of this when I bring new people to it ... they make big eyes and go "wtf" mode -
that's easy for me: S-RANGE 2001: freakin' great album! Space: freakin' great album! and all legal and illegal follow-ups: freakin' great aswell! And actually this guy has no bad track. Old stuff great, new stuff great. So much for that. Of all albums I own, these two (three actually ) are easily the most played ones. I just love that music. There is no album "stronger" than these.

don't worry, my heart is (quite) okay I just get the impression it beats fast. Which it doesn't do. And that makes me nervous. I got a sorta biorhythm in me which is disturbed by the fast bpm.
-
oh please don't remind me... I HATE IT! The music, the people, everything. The aggressive mood. It's the pure horror. I sound like a gay hippie, but I really feel bad vibes there at gabber fests and also around many people who like to listen to it ... and that makes me feel bad. I need peaceful music ... even darkpsy has a certain peace in it compared to gabber. And I got a neighbour who's blasting this shit quite often ... and I hear every kick of it! It's horrible, because such high bpm go on my nerves big time (I always think my heart beats so fast, because you know, the noise through the wall is dampened and sounds just like my heartbeat), which makes it shitty when I have to work something or such. I mean, he's not doing it in the night, so at least he's no assshole ... but still. This stuff makes me aggressive (that's why I don't listen to it) and it could well be that one day I snap and visit him with a baseball bat...

FYI, I just got the news that a new Atrium Carceri album is going to be released soon on Cold Meat Industry. Title will be "Souyuan", release date is the 26th of November...
-
Sounds interesting... Is this going to be released this year still?
-
muchos gracias, Rez I'd only like one with better visual quality ... is there any? ah, I see it's the best for me though... Anything similar (video-wise)? Prodigy doesn't seem to have any
-
not even remotely Breathe is a great tune, but the ultimately best vidoclip goes to ... *drumroll* ... Smack My Bitch Up! Yeah, definitely and totally. Here it is, as a reminder: http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=j444hBS8PxI

Big fan of Banco de Gaia here aswell I haven't found anything similar though. But that's not so much an issue with the musical style, it rather is an issue with this kind of "inner peace" that swings along in Banco's tunes. It's a kind of peaceful, beautiful, happy, fresh, funny undertone ... but mainly peaceful. That always reminded me of Tibet in some way.
-
aaah, thanx ... so I better be careful
-
ups, I thought you hated that track ... but I mistook your review for that of the other guy
-
Why " " ? Generally yes. But certain tendencies and influences can be deducted. Eventually. You could judge from his own track on that comp by the way
-
Didn't he compile Ease Division 3 (still don't own it ) and you were not quite blown away by it? Can you judge from that?
-
Funnily enough I find that MMC somewhat as exhausting as Gappeq. That's why I said it reminded me of it. I get just as deranged in the head when I listen to it for long.
-
It won't be uptempo, guys ... seriously, Magnus and Ultimae were promising that already before EarthShine got released! It'll be AMBIENT! I only expected that album a little earlier ... because they were talking about it already for so long...
-
So ... I now really took your advice and wrote him an email The unfortunate result is: there is no tracklist. He doesn't have any and going through all the tracks again would be a bit much. The fourth track, however, is: Matt Rowan - Gold Mine ... in case that helps you; it surely helps me
