  1. I have one friend who's into goa/psy and he started getting into it independently. The rest doesn't know/like or (in some rare cases) has moved on. Strangely my dad likes it, he was always telling me that oldschool goa/regular trance suits him well while driving (mostly producers like BPC or Union Jack) .
  2. I'm almost sure this one will stay on my 'best of 2014' list no matter what happens next. Another 'keep an eye on' artist unlocked.
  3. Yeah, I don't know if it's ironic or simply enthusiastic attitude, guess I didn't get too much sleep lately.
  4. +1 I think it doesn't work for me because the focus is mostly on weird effects and not enough melody (they don't have to be in my face but a little nod would be welcome - that's why Darshan's first LP is positively excluded from the bunch ). I couldn't get into Hux Flux or Double Dragon especially. Most of the times it's better to move on instead of trying to force-listening and waiting for the dazzle to come, just because the others had the epiphany. I know what You're saying, listening to E-Mantra I always imagine a spaceship flying on and on and on... People seem to praise Alienapia's album, but to me it's too loud too much and at the same time (furiously barking dog on a leash comes to mind). Also Asia 2001, I know this guy has lots of fans, but 95% of his work doesn't do much for me.
  5. This guy knows how to revive the old spirits, he deserves to be among the best within the genre for sure.
  6. Just by reading psynews forum it occurs that Boris Blenn has let down his 90's fans (even those from Cosmic Experience era) at least few times. I'm with those who say his latest fullon LP's could combine into one decent production (IMO, of course, if someone likes cheddar and guitars in psy, there's plenty of delicusness for him). Blenn's Galaxy alter ego is another story. Great melodic journey, as Spiral Mind wrote - delicately psychedelic, nontheless psy-vibe is certainly present all the time. T2MU brought Vangelis, I'd add Tangerine Dream, another greats from the beginning of electronic music. Old flow with new gear, recommended.
  7. I think You should read this post and the topic in general, because maybe You didn't get it properly . Going back in topic, I won't be too original: Electric Universe - Stardiver (pure sentimental value, but nonetheless worth listening) Hallucinogen - The Lone Deranger (crazy stuff, together with 'Twisted' is the father of all unpredictable trance) KoxBox - Dragon Tales (this one is so psychedelic, it's too much for some ) Pleiadians - I.F.O. (this album contains energy and melodies for at least three other LP's) Total Eclipse - Violent Relaxation (two discs for two different moods, both great)

    Neogoa. Why?

Let me get this straight, is someone feels bad/good or degraded/elevated hearing 'neogoa' term or it's just pointless for some people because it's all the same? If for one side everything is blue, and for the other some of it is light blue or blue-ish and they want to call it as they feel, why not?
  9. You've overinterpreted my poor attempt in joking (the right path = classic Hollywood 'how could I've been so blind' moment), tough crowd, it happens . Disregarding that and treating my comment seriously, I hope that this 'wanting to do something else' as You wrote, is EU making music closer to CE, than Higher Modes (my wish & opinion). Lastly, as a guy who's trying to compose/produce for quite a long time I can say I'm searching all the time, including the right path and I'm not talking about pleasing the crowd, so let's not put everyone in the same basket.
  10. Imagine bunch of people coming to Blenn after twenty or more gigs and saying could you bring back the 'Cosmic Experience' vibe, that was awesome or just simply browsing his old tunes and stumbling upon CE (hey, I did something kinda nice there...). There are many different ways during the creative process, the above is just a glimpse, so I can't see anything unreal about it.
  11. The benefit from the situation is, that it's a good way to check if Your thoughts and marks didn't change with time.

    Neogoa. Why?

I definitely read too much from Your research post and the phrase I'm not surprised it's them, because I knew for sure it wasn't Suntrip. My mind has added some emotional tone while reading the post it and I misunderstood You, sorry if I You felt offended.

    Neogoa. Why?

Maybe not dead, but for some people it was at least in a coma and it took the effort in finding appropriate tunes. It was like entering the room where yesterday was a party and now there are only few beer bottles left and people sleeping on a couch (plus few uninvited guys dancing to their own music ). Mars, You wrote quite serious post, like the term 'neogoa' was some kind of disease or stigmata and we should cure it or at least be ashame of it. I sometimes use the term as a mental shortcut describing stuff from second wave producers and don't feel any amount of bad vibe, to me it's neutral. It goes both ways as you can sometimes see the term 'classic goa' describing music from the 90's. At least it's not like 'funky house' describing something different after ten years. If we can (or will) have 'hi-tech forest darkpsystep', why not neogoa? Having said the above, I agree it's all goa at the bottom.
  14. Such devotion could not be omitted by goa gods, so if I were You, I wouldn't be worry about the afterlife .
  15. Ten years have passed since 'Cosmic Experience', maybe Mr Blenn understood, that 'CE' path was the right one (keeping my fingers crossed).

    Neogoa. Why?

Different genres use different naming, instead of 'neo' the term 'nu' or 'nuskool'/'newschool' is used, sometimes 'post'. I find the term 'neogoa' adequate since for about half of a decade there was a gap between two waves and the first sounded a bit different than the second.
  18. I didn't noticed any missing pictures, great reviews, one of the things keeping me here.
  19. I'd like to ask about mirror/kaleidoscope effect on the covers - is this the label's identification sign?
  20. Agreed, minus nitzo-kick, I can't get through this sound in any tune, somehow it reduces my listening pleasure, but don't mind me.
  21. By 'getting rare CD wavs' You mean ripping old release CD, buying digital or sth different?
  22. And you have sold everything? Which Caribbean island is now Yours?
  23. That's how great wars have started in the past . Speaking about CD, my favourites are: both Total Eclipse and Slinky WIzard. Hard to realize it's been TWO DECADES ago . Earth is getting old faster and faster.
