  1. I'm glad I've mobilised this one, congrats antic!
  2. Recently I've noticed the forum has skipped 1.000.000 mark with the posts. Quick question to the CEOs - is it possible to trace the lucky one?
  3. Should be released as a double-CD together with awaited full on/prog remixes of the tunes from the first two albums. Can't wait for Neelix take on Jiggle of the Sphinx
  4. I have mixed feelings about it. From the first listen two thoughts are still floating in my head: 1. Lots of those symphonic moments sound like harder version of Vanessa Mae (UK violinist playing some sort of classical-techno-pop fusion) or metal/rock band losing few guitars and going orchestral. I'm not feeling it. 2. The guys from SynSun had a phase on 'yyy-aaa-eee-aaa' sound (You know, 'the talking lead'). I've heard it in at least five different tracks. Definitely not for everyone's taste. Maybe it was great for 2004, maybe I didn't listen to it at the right moment, don't know. I like IM, Misted Muppet or Talpa and thought this will fit nicely judging by other folks reactions, unfortunately I don't think this album will be played lots of times in my headphones.

  6. +1 I think the albums already released should be considered essential for the first year of the release. If 'Dragon Tales' or 'Twisted' would be reprinted in 2014 with new mastering should they take the spot on the list? A bit unfair. On the other hand, a bunch o singles stuck on one album is sometnig new, even if the music has already been around, because it takes to buy just that one CD to have it all.

    Asia 2001 - Live

Not my cup of tea since I mostly enjoy last two tracks and they are made by someone else (both are really good, well done Mr MFG). Oh well, moving on...
  8. I'm sure most of You will agree, that 'Hallucinogen In Dub' is a great album. This morphing uptempo into downtempo not just by slowing down the tunes (hello, AP!) still sounds great and I could only wish to hear more of such transitions. Do You have some suggestions for an '...In Dub' series? My first three ('Hallucinogen In Dub' being number zero I guess ) would be: 01. 'Koxbox In Dub' - back in the time IMO one of the most uniqe and psychedelic artists around, this could be a match for number zero; 02. 'Pleiadians In Dub' - this one's a no-brainer, dubby Alcyone anyone ? 03. 'Infected Mushroom In Dub' - just to see how those crazy melodies would cope with downtempo style; I'm curious about Your thoughts and arguments.
  9. I don't like flat nitzho kickdrum (too high for my ears as a kick), so I'd be glad to switch this one for more juicy sample. Where? Wherever you can .
  10. So that's how it started, I demand more albums from eighteenth century, those were crazy times!
  11. Personally, I'm... ...not to pleased about this one... ...and extremely happy about this one . The end of century in uptempo psychedelic world was a strange time, like someone had switched off the button with most melodies and harmonies and turned up all the rest. I'd prefer less revolution and more evolution or just going parallel insted of almost wiping one sound for the sake of the other. Nice to see nowadays there's almost everything for everyone. And about Mr Cyborg statements, on this formum there are few people witnessing the whole movement from the beginning, so I'd be less eager in discrediting their thoughts. I hope it didn't came too boot-licky .
  12. Im form '81, so I'm fully 90's person, good times! I miss watching Empire Strikes Back, The Sting, Matrix, Die Hard, Sixth Sense and many more for the first time, listening all this great music for the first time. The trick is we have knowledge and experience now and this reducts wow-factor greatly, unfortulately either this or that.
  13. Yeah, this one is tough - I have (again ) a question. I like both CDs enough to put this release into a list, but the first one is uptempo and and the second is psychill. Should I write it twice, I saw the second CD has a sub-tittle '2Minds in Dub' ?
  14. The memorable ones are for me 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose', 'Shutter' and bunch of other asian movies like 'Ringu', 'Ju-On' or 'Gin gwai'. I wish I could watch old movies without XXI century glasses on, this would increase the number of great (instead of great for its time) films.

    I like...

+1, although about the last one I slightly prefer curd (that's what word I found via dictionary). It's milk, but not fresh, after few days it becomes less liquid and more 'sour', but in a good way - great with boiled or baked potatoes. The best curd comes from the milk which wasn't pasteurised. Also jelly beans and the rest of jelly/gummy family .
  16. Thanks, I didn't think this one was so easily achievable fact. The part: [...] he started making music at his late grandmother's house with an impulse tracker and had no clue that the music he was producing was, in fact, trance. He simply referred to it as impulse music [...] astounded me a bit. Imagine thinking You've invented a lightbulb.
  17. Yes, I can't imagine better way to learn producing than step-by-step 'autopsy' of a great tracker tune. When trackers were leaving the production field for the benefit of Cubase, FL or Reason it was an end of a great era . I'm glad there's still Renoise . Aural Planet consists of some of the best polish tracker musicians (Sundial Aeon too). I've heard IM started producing on trackers aswell, can someone verify this plus add more names to this list?
  18. THANK YOU Mars, now I'm a teenager again . Some of those guys with the right equipment could reach hall of fame easily. About the spreading, as far as I'm concerned, in the golden computer scene days, just before Internet has rocketed, it was the essence of it, so maybe by extension this could be used in this case especially the tracks were available for free so many years. Nevermind, it's a great find and I hope some of psynews members who never heard those names before will have a listen and enjoy pre-VST era producers.
  19. To me Internet in '96 was something Asimov or Lem could write about. Yeah, I remember one of my friends saying 'Mp3? This won't pass, the files are too big.' I've searched through all my old, dusted CDs (no floppy in my PC) and no sign of Ultrabeat goa...
  20. Info about releasing Symbiote EP reminded me of guys releasing under Ultrabeat umbrella. Bunch of the tunes were incredible, made on trackers with all those limitations they still sounded better than some of the tunes one can find on well respected compilations. I used to have plenty of their tracks and now I can't find them anywhere (the site is still active, but the downloads are not). Does anyone have them or can point me in the right direction to get them back?
  21. + That's pretty much what I think hearing 'intelligent' (minus America, it's worldwide). Funny one of You wrote 'more minimal' and the other 'complexity', but I get it . You might try Phaeleh, if You're into more calm (but dubby) and garage-like (among others) sounds.
  22. And this means what? Just some subjective phrase about nothing?
  23. Beautiful music from Ott , as usual. This one will definately be in my top 10 for 2013 downtempo .
  24. I second that, for the fans of Akshan's music those two should be a treat (also Sephira - Imagination in Motion, but this one seems to have gained some buzz).
  25. Patchwork's album from 1997, first time after few years - still sounds great, underrated (or maybe just a bit forgotten) producer IMO.
