HELLO PSYNEWSERS

Now, do you think the psy scene is getting bigger or smaller? or nothing?

I have no idea, since I just started listening to psy a year ago or so. I wish there were more parties close to where I live :( Plane tickets are expensive these days, yeah.

I mean psychedelic trance of course.

It's undeniably getting bigger and more commercial, but I hope that we will get another brand of trance evolving from it, that still is pretty underground, so it won't get "streamlined" naa'm say'n?

Yes.

Where are you from?

Why? :)

I'm from Gothenburg, Sweden. Although I have psytrance-listening friends in Stockholm and if I would go to a party I'd probably go with them anyway. Some of you may know Daze from the forums. :)

Anyway I don't really know where to look for parties. Last time there was a party I know of it was Xenomorph and Kindzadza (I think) in Stockholm. They had lots of problems with some fire inspectors or something, so I didn't wanna buy a train ticket etc. before I knew they were really going to play, and then it was too late. :(

Anyway, do you know any nice web sites for Swedish parties that I could check out? Would be much appreciated

I know exactly what you're saying... :( It already seems to be pretty "streamlined", but there are still many good producers out there. You just have to keep your eyes open and listen to anything you can get your hands on.

Definitely it's getting bigger but I hope to stay as underground as it can.

Psytrance bigger?

Well, yes, maybe ... but I think it spreads up already in so many genres like prog, fullon, scando trance, darkpsy, oldschool and so many more because each genre has subgenres too so that I say each genre on its own will have its own future. Some might even die. But in general of course psy will get bigger and bigger overall seen and it will merge with other electronic music styles at the edges - which is actually already the case...

You guys must be crazy.

Bigger?

More and more psytrancers are leaving the scene or left it already.

Trust me.

441755[/snapback]

and what's with the fullon crap?

That stuff is BOOMING! And just wait for the first movements of "music-industrialisation" in the psyscene! I mean, professional music-industrialisation, like in the generic trance scene with Tiesto and such. Big concerns will see big business - and ohoho, be prepared for this onslaught! I know what you mean, that the TRUE psytrancers will leave and the scene "dies" in your eyes, but in fact it will get bigger and inflated by introducing more Skazi clones attracting the gabbas and trancers and all the chav and prolo scum of the techno events, oh, just wait! And don't forget the club/house crowd! The scene will be far from dying seen from this point of view - of course, internally it will be dead as a graveyard and the safe outposts on the net of people that really LISTEN to the music at home and such will disappear too as the people who have lived this style for many years already turn away in disgust at the commercialisation and the brutal rape of musical talent and creativity and as all what was once beautiful and happy is mashed into this big moneymaking industry apparatus, inflated to some gigantomanic "must-haves for everybody" told by the marketing firms and adverts going on and the small beautiful gigs of the old times will turn to gigantomanic events where airport hangars are transformed to "giga goa party zones" where druggies, chavs and other scum will dance their E-rushes off and violence will take place when the dudes overreact on the influence of crappy speed and other impure drugs ...

okay, that was a horror vision, don't take it too honest ;) ... but a weak version of this might be coming - in fact, it's already going on a bit, I have experienced it myself - some peaceful dancer getting beaten up by chav speed junkie on a peaceful psy party, it is already the case!

NO, HE WASN'T! He fled away in the trouble as I have heard, because people were rather caring to help the one lying on the floor in a blood pool than to catch the fucker! Sometimes these hippies are too peaceful for my taste.

A TRUE psytrancer ... my gosh, you know what I mean ... the people that really are into the music, that are critical with new releases and relly look on quality and not on "bam bam bam ... - break - bam bam bam..." low-intelligence monotonous unoriginal fullon productions that overflood the psytrance market of today. People that really listen to the stuff at home, buy records/CDs to support the artists or try to bring something good to the scene in another way. These people will die out, because it will break their heart to see how the load of commercialized, aggressive morons, that are attracted by all methods that the industry that will come and overtake this scene uses, brutally rape their beloved wonderful music and drench it into a pool of hate, violence and negative vibes where you already get bad words thrown at you when you look at somebody's girl or touch their arm accidentally while dancing...

A few, some very very few little secret parties will remain, taking place once or twice a year, but that's all that will remain and that's not what I would call an alive scene.

I`d wager that full-on will go huge. It´s the next "kikkeli" trance (penis trance, a finnish term for the melodic\cheesy trance, like Paul Van Dyk, etc)

But on the other hand there will always be new and experimental, fresh sounds and true music lovers that throw parties just for the hell of it.

I do not feel like a part of any scene, etc... especially anything global.

What happens to some subgenre of music hardly ruins my day. It`s not like I am forced to listen to something or participate in anything against my will

well I have a little vision about that

fact is any music genres grows, that's normal

but mosly the most music genres are divided by countries

for example : popular music more countrey in usa, western europe is more elektronic like commericial house and stuff, you know what I mean

but when it comes to underground you see the same patterns

techno has been very popular in werstern europe, america parties every weekend but techno for example has never been huge in like turkey or poland, ok it's been there but never in that amount that we actually could speak of a scéne coming together on parties every weekend.

checking all the other electronic music styles elektro, drum'n bass, hardtek (or in some countries called teKno) it's the same,

but then :

you have goa !

and it appears to be that the most electronic countries like western europe trance is already envolving big time and now days is super but super commercial for example 'dancings', this combination with the fact that goa was a bit invented in india what a perfect vacation place was for many israeliens after war duty and off course many western europe people who wanted to see the world or escape from the kapatilism world and live more peacefull, all this movement coming together of people who actually knew trance for a long time and now experienced the psychedelic sounds they were experementing in goa created the first goa vibes,

but what is now different ?

normally goa should be more popular in the western electronic countries, goa itself and off course israel like I explained with other music genres.

but now, after all this years, technology, internetconnection, suddenly we experience the fact that goa seems to be every where

almost each countrey has got it's goa scéne, don't know if you really understand how crazy that is, not every countrey has got it's techno scéne, or acid scéne, in a lot of countries most music the typical culture music from their countrey passed by they parents, but still there we experience goa scénes,

so conclusion is :

goa is rising more then any music genres ever has risen before in the entire world, pop has concoured the world but don't think in turkey everybody listens to pop, most of them listen to RAI, but héy I'm going to a major goa festival in turkey within a month, have to work there :D , so it's there.

the question is not where is goa ?

the question is where isn't there any goa ?

even africa has got his own 'term' within the psyscéne, sout african fullon they say like twisted system.

goa is international like becoming a tribe doens't matter where ya from, which colour or language, goapeople have only one purpose CELEBRATE ! the reason why is pure individual but they like too celebrate and they are willing to go very far. How many miles have you been driving, walking for goa festivals like boom, full moon or now the souleclispe in turkey,

give me one music genres where poeple would travel over 1000, 2000 etc miles just to celebrate on a certain music ?

NONE !

if britney spears is not coming nearby your city to perform you ain't going :D

nobody will travel to see britney spears to another countrey, well not a majority like with goa.

none goa festivals like for example summerjam in germany what is bigger then full moon also organized in in germany but reggea ragga style you see many germans, belgians, france partieheads, holland and that's it, only the countries surrounded around germany. there's no one coming from africa or jamaica to summerjam in europe, there's no one coming from america or russia, and don't think reggea or ragga isn't popular in jamaica, america or other countries, it is but they just don't do that !

you see I could go on & on and the problem is I don't want to generalize

my point is that comparing to other music genres goa is totally different in patterns how goa people come together, how far they want to travell, where they come from etc...
