  1. Artist: Various Title: Another Definition of Goa Trance Label: Tetsuo Date: October, 1996 1. Semsis - Pile 2. Arcana - Orion 3. O.O.O.D. - Cobra 4. Unconscious Collective - Fluorostani Transcendance 5. Syb Unity Netwerk - Tripperspaced (Live Mix) 6. Glass Walker - Quasi 7. Sun Dog - Touch The Sun 8. Psyclan - Energy Flux 9. David Craig - Bewildered 10. Section-X - Galaxian (Section-X Mix) "I was going to the worst place in the world and I didn't even know it yet." Clearly this is the feeling of dread and shame experienced by all who realize that a trip to Wal-Mart is inevitable. This was a pretty good compilation that combined some goa trance along with some of the acid variety. The lines between the two can be blurred as the use of the 303 is rampant in both. So just a few notes... Pile- One of the greatest tracks that ever came from this project. It's dark and pulsating yet still manages to be melodic Orion- Great track that is only held back by it's repeated sample use. Cobra- A track from the Oood goa heyday and one of my favorites. Tripperspaced (Live Mix)- Any compilation with a Syb Unity Netwerk track is instantly better. Fact. Sundog- A track that seems to make it on every compilation every made. Not bad, but not superb either. Galaxian- A speedy stormer, but after 3 minutes you've basically heard all you need to. The really good tracks can be found elsewhere so this is hardly essential. But a good compilation nonetheless.
  2. Artist: Various Title: The Call of Goa Vol. 2 Label: Timewarp Records Date: May, 2014 CD1 01. Sky Technology - Life or Coma Dream 02. Fractal Geometry & Bionic Delay - Dancing Shiva II 03. Celestial Intelligence - Evolution of the Atmospheres 04. Javi & SkoOma - Flubber 05. 01-N - Re:Glitch 06. Siam - Transparent Feelings 07. Doruk - End of the Beginning 08. Trinodia - Re-Mote 09. Asterope & Analogic Culture - Melodias Ancestrais 10. Laboratory X & RDM - Kenaz CD2 01. Psilocybernetics - In servitude to Cephalopods 02. Jayex - Instant Enlightenment 03. Persistent Aura - Century 04. CoaGoa - Sequoia Valley 05. Ephedra & Imba - Mystical morning in Vielsalm 06. Anumana - Lunar Dreams 07. Alienoma -The Invasion 08. Timofey & JBC Arkadii - This are the Asteroids 09. Nostromosis - The Road Home 10. Lunar Dawn - Ananke When I hear great goa trance it's like a good meal. The smells, the presentation, and of course the taste. All the senses are satisfied and you just sit back, undo the belt, and fart your way into a blissful slumber. Over here we call it da itis. And that's how things were shaping up when I ordered the second installment of the Call of Goa series. Celestial Intelligence, Sky Technology, and Javi and Sk00ma began the meal nicely and it smelled great. The next six tracks however were like trying to swallow a pine cone. Six. In a row. It wasn't just subpar goa that sounded raw and amateurish, but some were hardly goa at all. Not that I have anything against psytrance (Lord knows how many thousands I've spent on it), but if I'm eating at a the goa restaurant save the avant-garde sh*t for those California daisy huggers. It was either too fluffy or lacked the depth I'm used to from Timewarp. And Trinodia...what it the name of refried beans was going on there? I'm convinced that this was the first track he ever produced. On a Casio. That may or may not have been plugged in. Luckily disc one came to an end and the second began. Light fare from Psilocybernetics (interesting downtempo) and Jayex to be sure, but things became more palatable with a very un-nitzhonot funky track by Persistent Aura. It's not until the pairing of Imba and Ephedra that you get the first storming goa track. The rest are decent, but certainly nothing amazing. It ends on a real good effort from Lunar Dawn (check out his debut on Neogoa). Man that pine cone is gonna hurt coming out. I love Timewarp and usually I send nothing but glowing praise their way, but I came away from this disappointed. How could I not based on their previous output? This was like going to a fancy restaurant and expecting a well prepared meal only to catch a peek behind the kitchen door and see your dinner come out of the microwave. Putting together a double CD sounds difficult and I think this would've been better as a single disc. Too much filler and very few gems. Of course the ones that are great are really great and as a collector I bought it. Will probably buy the third one if they decide to make it, but do me a favor...spend some more time in the kitchen. 3. Artist: Lectro Spektral Daze Title: Out of Body Experience EP Label: Neogoa Date: September, 2014 1. Out of Body Experience 2. Crystal Clear 3. Specialists In Sound "What is an out of body experience?" F*cking crap on a cracker my soul just tore ass out of my body. Is that an out of body experience? I realize we're all wetting our pants at the latest Neogoa offering, but I hope you guys are paying attention to this individual. This is Danny Marshall from the land of kiwis and more f*cking facial tattoos than the local penetentiary. This guy is crafting some involved and hypnotic goa trance. It's long and twisting where chunks of time are lost in the blink of an eye. I had to pee an hour ago, but I can't tear myself away from the computer. This is futuristic and mystical at the same time. This cosmic goa trance is like a multiple appendaged creature composed of energy. Kick ass. Free at Ektoplazm Mdk

    "V/A - Retrodelic Vibes 2"

Retrodelic Vibes 2 (i forgot the 2 in the topic name ) Tracklist: 1. Masaray - Time Traveler Of Trance 2. Doof - Let's Turn On 3. Cydonia - Shambala 4. Electric Universe - Luna Overdrive 5. Psychaos - Spatial Distortion 6. Kopfuss Resonator & Jörg - Whipbird 7. Space Tribe - The Great Spirit (Hallucinogen Rmx) 8. Tim Schuldt - Karma 209 9. Witchcraft - Witchcraft Magic 10. Man White No Name - Sly-Ed Mastering by Avi Algranati (Space Cat) This compilation is dedicated to Goa nostalgic fans, giving them an opportunity of collecting a combination of old underground goa tunes & classical goa anthems. I'm not 100% fan of the tracklisting but for sure you can get wrong with Doof (Nick Barber + Simon Posford for this one) Let's Turn On, Shambala (notice here that Cydonia is composed of Dino Psaras,Steve Ronan, John Donno & Martin Freeland), Whipbird (Kopfuss Resonator=Mark Pfurtscheller + Timothy Farber; dj Jörg=Jörg Kessler from SST/SSJ), Witchcraft Magic (Whitchcraft are Itzik Levy aka Sandman, Green House Effect + Rami Shapira aka Chakra) & Sly-Ed; all these ones are brillant for me & deserve their place. I'm more or less convinced by the collector aspect of other tunes but that will be a very different-personnal perception from all goa-freaks. For example I never heard about Masaray before, the band is composed of Masayuli Kurihara & Ray Castle, Time Traveler Of Trance was licensed on Psy-Harmonics. The track is nice maybe just little puffing, why not. Luna Overdrive is a 303 goa work from Boris Blenn, i just think it's not very representative of his style & furthermore not one of his best productions (i.e Astral Voyage), but nothing bad of course & it's a personnal matter of taste. Concerning Psychaos, Spatial Distortion reminds me a lot another Joti Sidhu's tune : Dense Dawn (that results much better to my ears). I'm wondering which one did he compose the first, Spatial Distortion appears to me like just the rough work of the other. I only dig Space Tribe sound since his 'Kickin Up some Dust remix', before that i found his goa productions mediocre. Here it is an Hallucinogen remix , so i was hoping some improvement, i got dissapointed too. The Tim Schuldt track sum up the spirit of Retrodelic Vibes 2, the selection has been guided by a search, according to me, of mostly energic 303 eitheir goa classics or underrated underground goa stuffs. This means here some few artists not exactly appear in their traditionnal style. For Tim Schuldt the 303 lines replace his usual fat & heavy metal electric guitar riffs. If for you all or most of these artists name doesn't still mean something , go buy it; for the goa fans it'll be better at least to make a little check before.
  5. Artist: Nova Fractal Title: Lost Souls EP Label: Timewarp Records Date: January, 2015 1. Main Sequence Star - Virus 2. Lost Souls 3. Trinodia - Human History (Nova Fractal Remix) 4. Naga "Human history is a chaotic thing. Small changes have big results. Unpredictable in direction." Little brothers be f*cking sh*t up for everybody. Timewarp Records manager and accomplished goa trance artist Renato Brnić is at it again with an EP release that contains some new tracks including a remix of the Trinodia smash Human History. He brings you aboard slowly with a sort of break beat cosmic goa track from his side project. Once that melody kicks in it's quite shiny. Nice rest at the shiny break and then it's back to that shiny melody. He didn't rewrite history here, but it's a good track. Lost Souls is a track I really like because you can hear each individual layer as it ascends like a staircase. I wish there was a more dramatic climax, but the sound was so good that's a minor complaint. Human History is a fantastic track and let's be honest unless you drop a Bieber loop in there you really can't f*ck this up. Renato didn't and he didn't. It's still a great track, but I would've liked something in there where he truly makes it his own. With Naga he closes with an aggressive and straight forward sound. Good EP if you like the more modern sound of goa production. Timewarp Bandcamp Mdk
  6. Since old is new and everyone is eating it up, there are some old school masters that haven't been represented. I'm glad we got some remixes from Astral, but what about some elephants in the room? Holophonic released it digitally, but as a collector like you guys I would love to have a hard CD copy of Retro: Vol. 1 & Vol. 2 And how about MFG? I know the lineup has changed, but surely they might have unreleased stuff. Hell I'd love some represses of their 4 classic albums! Ethereal works slowly per Anoebis, but maybe a reprint of Anima Mundi? Colorbox? Bypass Unit? Ominus, Miranda? And we are of course waiting for the big guns. Pleiadians. Would love to hear from those who may know the artists or be familiar with the process of getting it done. With the cavalcade of blasts from the past it has seriously whet my appetite for more of this goodness.
  7. Artist: 2Minds Title: Wave Shell Label: Geomagnetic.TV Date: October, 2013 1. Vintage 2. Blue Magic 3. Mission to Mars 4. Goa Land 5. Wave Shell 6. Hindu 7. Deep and Warm 8. Viber 9. Eclipse 10. Blood Connection 11. Evil Echo 12. Ethnic Demonstration 13. Half Moon 14. Magic Carpet 15. The Last Travel I try not to make assumptions or jump to conclusions. I said I try. But I think we can all agree sometimes you're just stupid. In that vein I suppose I owe this project an apology. Two Israeli brothers making psytrance? Stop me if you've heard that one before. Paid them zero attention. Why do I wanna waste my time with cheesy full on? That horse has been beaten to death. I haven't been this wrong since, well... F*ck I just turned my kids room into a gay disco! And it's still too damn hot in here! Now I haven't heard the first album from these guys, but their second one is something you should be paying more attention to. It was a gift from the label Zion604 when I ordered their latest release. No cover, no case, just the music burned to a disc. Normally that would find itself buried amidst all the other music that I would probably never get around to. But something told me to give it a go. Good call. The first disc is psytrance oriented with midtempo rhythms and an eye for detail. Changes of direction are abundant as are the hopscotching of between genres. And I believe that to be their strength. The similarities to old Infected Mushroom are many and while none of these tracks are blasters they are fun to dive into with lots of evolution. Their brand of psytrance is nothing special (aside from a few tracks the first disc is rather weak), but throw in their penchant for variety and things get more interesting. Disc two is the prize for me, full of downtempo grooves that combine vastly varied rhythms in a detailed menagerie of sounds. The layers are thick with slow, cinematic thumping beats that don't flirt with goa, but engage in a full blown dry humping session on the new family couch. You're doing it wrong. Hump first then eat. Thick with changes in direction , it's like getting lost in a maze where treasure is around every corner. The who shebang is produced very well with all sounds being crystal clear. They seem to love long tracks and while that can be involving sometimes it feels as if they're lost in the woods and every tree looks the same. "No you go on ahead. I'm gonna...take a look at...something." *sound of fly unzipping* So the psytrance yeah it's all right, but the downtempo disc is really good. Thanks for the gift! Psyshop Beatspace Mdk
  8. Dragon Twins - Psychedelic Schism Worked a long time on this one, but I think it is part of my better ones. It's really 'full', and moving constantly, with some heavy distorted leads taking over from time to time. Used a couple of new tricks regarding routing and filtering. Something different, I'd like to continue in this style. "> " type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="100%"> ">
  9. Artist: Varioius Title: Retrodelic Vibes 4 Label: Avatar Date: July, 2008 1. Slinky Wizard - Slinky Wizard 2. Spectral - Kundalini 3. Blue Planet Corporation - Antidote (Pleiadians Remix) 4. Total Eclipse - Tenskwa Tawa (Edit) 5. Endora - Joy 6. Hux Flux - Calculus 7. S-Range - Kym 8. Sheyba - Ancient Lands "Big pimpin' spendin cheese." This was undoubtedly the head of Avatar Records when they released this trip down memory lane. Like a redneck sitting on a powerball ticket he knew he had something good. Number 4 in the series is a real drop the mic moment when you can include such blistering tracks like the Pleiadians remix of Antidote. As if that track needed any help being a bad ass. But those Etnica boys...made it bad ass-ier. And then tracks like Slinky Wizard and Joy pick that mic right back up only to drop it again. Just leave it there. Maybe it'll sprout roots and germinate into another quality tree. Storming goa trance at its finest. I was all ready to proclaim Total Eclipse as the most overrated goa artist from the good ol' days (still a possibility), but his effort wasn't bad at all. Ancient Lands heard many times is still a good piece of tribal nostalgia. The Hux Flux track perplexes me, but it just goes to show you even bosses drop the ball now and again. It's not a bad track at all, but...Time Slices or STFU. S-Range was plying his dark sci-fi ways even back then with a track that let's you feel the atmosphere. It's more psy than goa, but the feel of it is positively alien. Psyshop Mdk
  10. Excuse the noobishness, also posted this link in the Free music section as it was a bit misleading. Here's a link to my Tswaing Crater Mix set, doing well on the Mixcloud charts at 12 and 19: https://www.mixcloud.com/DJChrisPalmer/chris-palmer-crater-2015-psy-set/ Hope you enjoy it! 11. Artist: Various Title: Survival of the Trippest Part II Label: Dope Media Date: March, 1997 Night Side 1. Evolution - Water Spirit (Sub-Marine Remix) 2. Mama Indica - Maria Sabinas 3. Cosmoon - Sleep Paralysis 4. SETI Project - X-Ray 5. Temple of Ellora - Hot Pot 6. Drop & Dash - Trixtrax 7. Metacosm - Dancestein 8. Infrarot - Acid Dog 9. Four Carry Nuts - Grapefruit Morning Side 1. SETI Project - Redeem 2. MOS - The Wave Inside 3. The Pollinator - Clone III (Unreleased Mix) 4. Morphem - Nothing Left 5. Animals Club - Japan (E-rection Remix) 6. Astrological - Stingray 7. Etnica - Moon Influence 8. Paradise Connection - 111 Belltrees 9. Ghost Train - Accidental Erasure Let's put the cards on the table ok? I realize this thing is rare and sold for a ridiculous $219.47. Who throws that much coin at a CD? Can I party with that guy? That's a lot of money for a whole bunch of meh. If you're in the market for spending some cash for a mediocre product can I interest you in some of my college term papers? Yeah it's got a lot of ok tracks on it with some fantastic ones interspersed within. Tim Schuldt as Mama Indica rocks with Maria Sabinas and X-Ray by SETI Project is one of the hardest psychedelic goa tracks ever produced. I haven't heard high pitched squealing like that since I stepped on a cat's tail. F*cking exquisite that track is. Hot Pot by a Shiva Chandra side project is quirky, but really cool. The Wave Inside is another standout, but after that...I'm too lazy to find out if any of the tracks only appear in this one place so if that's the case you're still f*cking nuts to shell out a car payment for this disc. Do you know how many lap dances you can get for that? Mdk
  12. First.. before i start with all the regular stuff, i really want to hear your opnion about this release. so i uploaded the whole e.p for free listening in high quality to our youtube channel, https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlfHuUnIeA4PuSZ-0_plM0HEUk4ApzMkF Track list: 1. The Truth 2. Shapeshifter 3. Emergency 4. Hawking's Universe 5. Who's Joking? Miracle is Nissim Trifonov from Israel. Nissim started playing with basic music production software such as Scream Tracker and Impulse Tracker as a teenager in the 1990's, and invested considerable time into music until the age of 18. In 2012 he attended BPM college where he learned Electronic Music Mix & Mastering from one of the greatest artists in the Trance genre, Rami Shapira (Chakra), and built his own home studio. He focuses mostly on Goa Trance production, drawing inspiration from the great artists of the 90's and early 2000's, to mention a few: Astral Projection, Cosmosis, Man With No Name, Oforia, X-Dream, Transwave and many others. We decided to call this e.p "The Truth" because we thought this is the most appropriate name for an artist who sticks to his truth and does not produce for any other reason other than 100% pure heart quest. So take a big breath and dive with Miracle to the deepest levels of Trance! Beatport: https://pro.beatport.com/release/the-truth/1457397
  13. Hello everyone. I need your help to ID a track of Martin freeland, he used to play it in recent years. Well the first time when I hear it it was at Ozora 2011, then when he came to Israel a year after. The sound of this track is a new...so I can be quite sure its from this period of time and not from the past years. Very atmospheric with a great melody. It can be listened on two followed links: .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsQBctQ_79M&feature=youtu.be&t=10m Hope there is some info about it! (Name, maybe a remix or anything else would be great!) cheers. Arthur.

  15. Artist: Various Title: Trance Experience 3 The Psychedelic Files Label: Discobole Recordings Date: 1997 1. Subcouds - On Red 2. Shakta - Lepton Head (Deedrah Remix) 3. Crop Circles - Lunar Civilization 4. Cyan - Dying Seas 5. Sandman - Nostradamus 6. The Delta - As A Child I Could Walk On The Ceiliing 7. Radiotrance - Plasma 8. Elixis - Prismatic Man these old covers kill me. Androgynous mannequins bracketing a toxic beach ball as the world explodes into chaos all around them. Silly right? But it does capture the feeling of this compil HOLY F*CKING DONKEY BALLS DID SOMEONE PAY $227 FOR THIS CD? You've gotta be f*cking kidding me. Hope dude isn't on Discogs any longer otherwise he'll need to be on suicide watch. Buddha Homer would have advised patience. Because more recently it sold for under 15 bucks. And just that quickly you can go sh*tting rainbows to punching babies. Regarding the CD it's excellent. Really excellent. Chances are good that you probably have these tracks on more accessible and affordable albums. But that doesn't diminish how good this disc is. Twirling, melodic goa trance, pumping Delta style psytrance...you can't go wrong. The Sandman track is a bit of an industrial and symphonic thumper and I don't usually like his music, but this was good. Good depth. And of course you can never go wrong with Subcouds, Crop Circles and our old friend Lepton Head. How many people have mixed that? I'm waiting for the Taylor Swift version. *fingers crossed* But don't be like moneybags up there and drop rent for this disc. Friends shouldn't let friends surf Discogs on payday. Mdk
  16. Information : Artist : Various Title : Goa Trance Revolution Label : Goa-Trance.com Date : 08 May 2013 Genre : Goa trance Tracklist : 1. Afgin - Goa Ahead 2. Goasia - Sundance 3. Indoor - Bom Shankar 4. Radical Distortion - Asinar 5. S.U.N. Project - Out of my brain (Old school mix) 6. Liquid Flow - Subconscious Minds 7. Laughing Skull - The Shine Side 8. Omnivox - Corona 9. Blue Planet Corporation – Alidade (Classical Mix) Review : And here we go ! Goa-trance.com, which is at start just a facebook group, decided to contact some artist to release a compilaton of Goa trance song. So what you will find on this compilation will mostly be Newschool Goa trance song. One more thing to add : it's a limited edition (500 CD only). Afgin - Goa head : Compilation begins with this track from Afgin and I've to say I've seen better work from him. However, this ain't a bad track : a loud kick, some nice melody all along the song, by exemple at 4:41. Well, not an awesome track but not a bad track neither ! Goasia - Sundance : Sundance ! Ahh ! I don't know about you, but the sound wich start the song make me think of a desert, at midday, where the sun is so strong that nothing else resist to him ! Then, the song continue with a nice melody (Ok, some of you will say it's a bit cheesy, cmon guys that doesn't sound bad !) and an energizing rythmic ! Then it continue with other melodies ! The melodies are very oriental-like tunes, and for this compilation, it just fit perfectly ! Not necessery to say more about this track, that's a good one from Goasia ! Indoor - Bom Shankar : This is the kind of track, you only need to hear the kick, the bass and the intro to know it's gonna be an amazing release ! And that's it ! Bom Shankar, from Indoor, start with a nice and strong kick, accompanied with nice bassline. There's a kind of goa tune in background, and then comme the main melody : WAOUV ! A very nice melody, which one give a "dark" aspect to this track (Nothing to do with dark psytrance...). Then you got another melody, Im not going to give you the entire description of the song, just to say you, the melodies are very nice, fits very well with the kick & bass, the song got a nice structure, the intro is nice, the tune are also awesome....I personnaly think it's the best track of this compilation ! Radical Distortion - Asinar : A short intro and a powerfull kick for this track ! And it fast comes with melodies ! What to say about this song ? Well, there's some nice Melodies (haha you're going to tell me I've said it for every track but damn isn't that true ?!), and I like how some break are made. For example, at 4:14. Oh and I forgot about the bassline, wich is quite nice ! That's it, not an amazing but a good track ! S.U.N. Project - Out of my brain (Old school mix) : As this is an Old school Mix, I decided to listen to the original mix before review this one. So let's be honest : the original one is a nice psy-trance track (altought I consider it has a goa kick, the melody are more psytrance than goa). I've heard a lot of old school goa song remixed in psy-trance or progressive psy-trance, but i've rarely (to be honest never) heard the opposite. And that's what we got with this old school mix. So, it start with a nice kick and pretty simple but nice bassline. Than come the main tune, this guitar melody, which is very nice and change of the oriental-like melody used in the other song, but not very different of the original mix. Where it does change, it's how the melody is re-used in the other part of the song, it's very well used, the structure make it more goa-trance like, a nice work so. Only little thing : the damned melody starting at 4:36 !!! Guys, im Sorry to have to say that, but it sound like butchering an ostrich Except that, it's a good overall track, with good guitar tune. Liquid Flow - Subconscious Minds : A good track, with dynamic melody and strong kick. You know it sound a bit like those nitzhonot tune : it goes a bit "everywhere", but in this goa trance song, the melody are well compacted, I means they do fit with the structure of the track. To be honest, one of the reason why I bought the compil', is that I heard a preview of every track and the preview of this one just amazed me ! Laughing Skull - The Shine Side : A nice song, with deep and powerfull melodies ! The one starting at 3:46 is just amazing, the best of the entire album for me ! You can also hear a very short voice sample at end of the track, if I state it it's because there's very very few voice sample in this compilation ! There's a nice outro. A nice song overall, the second best one of the compilation for me ! Omnivox - Corona : I am a bit disappointed of this song. I find the first melody cheesy, however the other one are ok, it's just this first one, who come back several time in the song which doesn't sound great to me. There's a nice break in the middle/end of the track, then it slowly grow up and when you're at the top, here come a damned melody...Yes, this cheesy melody ! That's seriously the "black point" of this track, except that, it's an okey track ! At the end of the track this cheesy melody is even being better ! Blue Planet Corporation – Alidade (Classical Mix) : Here we go with last track of this compil' ! First of all, I like the introduction, slowly growing, but slowly being strong, with nice tune ! Well, this is a Classical Mix, I don't know what the "classical" stand for, I just saw that the original Mix was longer than this one, and had a different mastering, a longer intro...(To be honest I didn't listen to the entire original mix, I know this is a classic for goa trance, but excuse me there's so much to listen in the psychedelic trance!). So, to make it short, it's a very nice track, very soft, with those piano melodies, this pretty nice kick and this soft atmosphere ! It make me think a bit about "Jaia - Mai Mai", but in a different way ! As mai mai, it's very soft and relaxing, but there's no voice sample. So, a pretty nice track, which fit well for a compilation ending. Overall : Goa trance Revolution is a very good newschool goa trance compilation ! If you like newschool goa trance, I strongly recommend it, it has nice melodies ! If you're more an oldschool goa trance fan, I still recommend it, because you know, there's not much newschool goa trance compilation and this one is the perfect example of what newschool goa trance is ! To buy it : Bandcamp Discogs Suntrip
  17. Artist: Various Title: Prana Remix Ep Vol. 3 Label: Matsuri Digital Date: December, 2014 1. Alien Pets (Filteria's Kami-No-Michi Remix) 2. Boundless (Skizologic Remix) 3. Alien Pets (Trinodia Remix) 4. Boundless (Nervasystem Remix) Having reviewed the first volume in the series it seemed only natural to tackle another one. Missed the second one (on my way to Beatport as we speak) but the third volume gets two resounding thumbs up from me. Two of the best known Prana tracks get a makeover and they will be a welcome addition to your goa arsenal. Filteria and Trinodia knock it out of the park with their storming versions of Alien Pets. The Skizologic remix is rather low key, but still good. The Nervasystem remix cuts the tempo and has a funky, sinister vibe to it. It's all superbly done and sounds great. After being disappointed with Volume One I feel pretty good about throwing 6 bucks Beatport's way. Beatport Mdk
  18. Artist: Psychaos Title: Chaos To Order / Mindwash EP Label: Transient Records Date: January, 1998 1. Chaos To Order 2. Mindwash Joti and his warped mind bring you Chaos to Order. Futuristic cyber-goa with an eerie android sample. Dark atmosphere for sure and I felt totally out of control. Mindwash is less gripping yet still has the same dark vibe and wanton destructive pattern. Side note Mindwash was re-released on Zion604's Phoenix compilation back in 2013. But you goa heads already knew that didn't you? Mdk
  19. Artist: Various Title: Scandi90's: The Vikings Return Label: Zion604 Date: December, 2014 1. The Mato Project - Prehistoric Exploration 2. Subcouds - Theme From Cloud 3. Electronic Dreamplanet - State of Mind 4. Atmos - Anaterra 5. Miranda - Little Trix 6. Atmos Vs. Bus - Butmosfear 7. Noma - Twisted Community 8. Subcouds - Tsunamis (Fripic Bounce Remix) 9. Sarolta Monspart - Northern Lights As much fun as it is to see the good folks from Zion604 and Ivan quibble over horns on a helmet it's not very funny. Needs more alcohol and yo mama jokes. That's where I come in. Yo momma's so fat she needs cheat codes for Wii Fit. You're welcome. Back in 2012 a new label not named DAT Records which specializes in reviving goa trance from back in the day came out with a compilation that delivered past tracks from Scandinavian artists. There is a certain sound associated with those projects and they have a loyal following. My knowledge of Scandinavia is rather limited. Here is my review of the first installment, but we know about the midnight sun and how f*cking cold it is. They get a few weeks of warm weather and that's when they trot the Swedish bikini team. Then before you know it *Prime Minister above* The prime minister jumps out and warns the population to get into their hobbit holes before the snows come. These are facts and can't be disputed. So that's Sweden. Norway seems like their little brother that can't keep up and if you can tell me that Finland is more than reindeer and Absolut I'm listening. What? Denmark is part of Scandinavia too? F*ck there should be a map or something. Fine. Ok history lesson over. We all know Scandinavia really means Vikings. Long beards, ships with many oars, cavernous mead halls and How to Train Your Dragon. Did they have horns? I don't know. My comics said Thor did and they've never steered me wrong yet. But I'm too lazy to actually do my homework so I'll leave that up to you guys. The cool guys at Zion are out with the second volume of Scandinavian sounds and I'll tell you right up front it's not my cup of tea really. Some of it sounds rather minimal like tracks from that nebulous period in psytrance when we were moving away from the goa sounds and heading towards darker experimentation. I recall someone mentioned that the first CD was like b-sides that were never released. I can see where that thought comes from. I received an un-mastered digital copy and one thing I can report is that the Miranda track Little Trix is significantly louder than the rest. Will that be remedied with the CD release? Probably. And I'll tell you that I plan to bump the CD and see if my opinion changes. The compilation isn't bad at all and I'm sure there is going to be a strong audience for this. However I feel an opportunity was missed. What about Psygone, Color Box, and Bypass Unit? Those Scandinavian projects don't have some gems in the vault? It's like not asking the hot chick to dance because you think she's just gonna say no. Maybe they asked them and they didn't. Can't say I wasn't there. I'm of the opinion that Flight 604 Chapter II is the pinnacle of their catalog right now. But that's just me. That said, I'm on about...the 15th listening and this is an album I would call a grower. The more unreleased goa trance that sees the light of day the better. I applaud the Zion604 crew for doing what they do. Even though I didn't love this I love what they do so I'm still going to buy it and support the label. I strongly suggest you do the same. Looking forward to getting my copy. P.S. Tracks 2,3, and holy sh*t 4 are really starting to grow on me. Damn you Zion604 and your beguiling ways! Zion604 Mdk
  20. Artist: Frequency Surfer Title: Respect Label: Inpsyde Media Date: June, 2003 1. Reaction 2. Elstir 3. Universal 4. Suspiria 5. Phenomenon 6. Heavy 7. El Bepi 8. Lucifero 9. Moonswing R-E-S-P-E-C-T! Oh girl. Who the f*ck let you out looking like that? Your lack of self-respect is troubling. Those sloppy milk jugs could touch your toes before you can. Ok then...sufficiently horrified? Somebody please hand the gentleman in the back this wastepaper basket he looks to be ill. This is Sebastian Claro who dropped this one album and then went on to govern the small country of Luxembourg. Maybe. Probably. Sh*t I don't know. What I do know is that before a life of possible political corruption and questionable soul singer blind dates his one and only album was a powerful mix of goa and psy. Not readily seen in 2003, otherwise known as the year before we were introduced to Suntrip Records. Respect is full of deep psychedelic thumpers with the aforementioned goa licks. The melodies aren't the elaborate kind like you would hear today, but the dark atmospheres and effects capably fill the void. Good album and just a cup size away from very good. I would say this is similar to the work of Fractal Glider. So if you liked his style of music you should check it out. Mdk
  21. http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/etnica-live-in-athens-1996-lp Hello Everyone! I am trying to do something massive here, a special edition on triple LP of Etnica - Live in Athens 96 I need your support now, more than ever, if you want this release to be real. 5k eur may seem a lot but for the project I have in mind... it's needed, more or less. I say more or less because the minimum amount for which i'd consider go through with it, it's really 3k. I would add the extra funds needed and make something that would be like this: A1 Etnica Plastic7:06 A2 Etnica Floating Universe 8:16 B1 Blue Planet Corporation Antidote (Etnica Remix)10:52 B2 Etnica Nice Toys10:01 C1 Etnica Vimana10:08 C2 Crop Circles Lunar Civilization (Etnica Remix)10:05 D1 Etnica - Fluorophilia Camps Bay9:34 D2 Pleiadians Jungle Trax (Etnica Remix)9:01 E Pleiadians Time Dilation (Etnica Morning Mix)15:47 F Etnica Mental Puzzle14:33 Only made in 300 copies, 100 of which will be black, 100 blue and 100 green (transparent both). Eventually if I were to sell more than 200 copies on the funding project I'd adjust and maybe make 400 or even a 4LP but that would really depend on the support/interest I raise. So I'd need you all to advertise this as much as possible, on other forums, facebook, anywhere there may be people interested in vinyls. Also if you have other ideas for perks, let me know, what would u like to get extra, imagining you have a lot of money to invest and want something special? I may do a perk including a t-shirt maybe, but that would be considered ONLY if there will a huge success and a lot of money collected for this idea. Signed copies may also be happening, even if it would be a bit tricky and I'd have to go to Ibiza and Milan coordinating with the 4 members of the band to meet and get a signature so that would be 2 trips that would have to be financed by the project (or at least one of the 2). So... vinyls... THEY REALLY KICK ASS. http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/etnica-live-in-athens-1996-lp

  24. Artist: Elgiva Title: Mysticism Label: Ovnimoon Records Date: May, 2014 1. Izolan (Elgiva Rmx) - Ovnimoon & Middle Mode 2. Unrevealed Secrets 3. Source of Power 4. The Prophet 5. Mysticism 6. Strange Thoughts 7. Forest of Fairies 8. Morning Sun 9. Adrenaline Rush How does Hector do it? Is he an international drug kingpin? A massively successful pimp with hoes in different area codes? Perhaps a lawyer who has made a small fortune defending kingpins and pimps? However it comes to be his label has released about 50 kilos of albums. Like the tides of the ocean they just keep coming. And it's not like he just throws some sh*t against the wall to see what sticks. Most everything I've heard has been of pretty good quality. And this without much publicity. Which goes to show you how important word of mouth is. Elgiva is Bojan Stojiljkovic (Ascent) and Milan Rakic from Serbia. Of course why wouldn't they be? This duo has assembled a brilliant album. Like Hector himself they combine progressive trance with hard hitting psy and then add some goa flavor. Basically a trifecta of awesome. Melodic and powerful they also don't forget to pay attention to the details. Timely and descriptive breaks really allow the tracks to flourish. It strikes a good balance between being aggressive and dreamy. Serbians man, it looks like they actually read the manual for their software. Your move Israel. When you're purchasing Ovnimoon's Trancemutation of the Mind make sure you slide this into your basket for a potent one two punch. I think whatever Hector actually does to make so many good albums happen he's probably gonna need bail money. Psyshop Beatspace Mdk
