  1. Artist: Javi & Sko0ma Title: The Incredible Machine EP Label: Timewarp Records Date: July, 2013 1. The Amplitude 2. Spiritual War 3. Mentally Exhausting 4. Atomic Cocktail Some men name their penis. Oh God, it's gonna be one of those. The male mind really isn't that convoluted. You love a pet, you name it. Your penis has been with you since day one (in most cases) so there's obviously some attachment there. Why wouldn't you name it? So to those chicks constantly complaining that they don't understand men, well...you're either f*cking stupid or not really trying that hard. Ever seen how twisted a woman's mind can be? "Honey, does this make me look fat?" Tread carefully intrepid explorer. The answer is there is no answer. Sure there's the truth (you already have a fat ass and no matter what color or pattern you put on it it will still be fat), but she clearly doesn't want to hear the truth. But she also doesn't want you to say no because she knows she has a fat ass and if you say no you're a f*cking liar and her mother was right about you. But I'm off topic. Some men name their penis. Javi is Jonas Merelbeke from Belgium and he was part of the Aural Exciter EP as well as making an appearance on fabulous compilations like The Call of Goa and Blacklight Moments. Has anyone ever met Sko0ma? Does he even exist? I'm not saying Sko0ma is the name Jonas gave to his little man, but I'm not not saying it. (Yes I know his name is Stefan Merelbeke, just having a little fun with the low profile of Sko0ma. Geez lighten up will ya? You're not the boss of me.) Point is these two are brothers and are always together. They've done some fine work and I'm looking forward to what they lay down on this 4 track EP. The Amplitude has an extended intro which I love as the bubbling and electric hum vibrate. Sounds coalesce in a slightly discordant melody. The numerous mini breaks give it the opportunity to regenerate. But instead of a single tail it sprouts several multi-colored ones. Spiritual War- R2! Sounds like him anyway. This one is in a constant state of evolution. Slamming goa phrases one minute and churning interlude moments the next. It's melodies sound more "trance" like, but never does it stray into commercial territory. Not my favorite. Mentally Exhausting is probably the most belting track of them all. Growling from the outset it has a screeching 303 that quickly morphs and gets filtered. Then the layering begins. Buckle up! Atomic Cocktail also has a 303 that will sear the skin if you try and grab it. It's relentless pace sees quality layering of melodies. These last two are my favorite. He believes that every healthy person should try LSD...might be on to something. This is a very good EP that shows the talent of this duo. Not your everyday goa trance. Pure power surely, but more than that. They definitely should be on your radar if they weren't before. 2. Artist: Psy-H Project Title: Dance of Distant Worlds Label: Global Sect Music Date: January, 2013 1. In A Shade Of Dadrrount'got 2. Second Coming 3. Boloto Trip 4. Infernal Candyflip 5. Active Meditation 6. Chatlane 7. Ramayana 8. Infinite Freedom 9. Spiritual Experience First things first...look at that spectacular cover. LOOK AT IT! F*cking gorgeous. I can't stop staring at it. There have been times where I have bought an album without knowing how it was going to sound just because the cover was so kick a**. Of course that was before the interwebz when I didn't feel like dragging my a** to the listening station. It was done by Ahankara (real name surely) who also did the cover for the Tabula Rasa compilation. This is one of those cases where you should judge an album by its cover. Psy-H Project is Igor Kititsky from St. Petersburg Russia (yes I'm aware you cannot spell Kititsky without tits) and this is his debut. And what a f*cking debut it is. Cosmic goa trance is contained within people and should be purchased post haste. I haven't wanted to have sex with an album since M-run, but I'm getting all oiled up as we speak. Let that image sit with you for a bit. This is a deeply atmospheric journey into the cosmos with alien textures and exquisitely layered melodies. A goa album that in the beginning has some darkpsy elements. And let's face it it doesn't get any darker than Emily Rose reciting the multiple names of Lucifer on Infernal Candyflip. But it's not all dark. Hell, in the same track you have distinctive goa melodies as well as Buddhist chants. It's also not afraid to poke fun at itself evidenced by the growls and I presume Brad Pitt laughter in Boloto Trip. While the entire album is full of lush and detailed goa trance, the second half is brimming with stormers. Active Meditation shimmers and coalesces like melody quicksand while Chatlane sparkles like my toddler just threw glitter in the air. Maximum twirling potential, I'm telling you. And what did you think would happen when he teamed up with fellow Soviets Alienapia? Total bedlam ensues with more layers than an onion. So good I wanted to cry. I'm not one to tell you what to do, just a guy with an opinion. But buy this f*cking CD. Own it. Stare longlingly at it. Love it. Damnit, I'm outta baby oil. 3. This is the first dark Goa set that I've mixed. It consists of 13 old-school dark Goa tracks, years 1992-2000. Starts off dry then builds up from there to a darker more encompassing atmosphere. Hope to get some feedback (good or bad), tips, or whatever comments you have to share. Hope you enjoy it, and thank you for taking the time to listen to it. http://www.mixcloud.com/Phantasmm/phantasmagorium/

  5. Hi everyone. I recently felt compelled to share this short set of tracks that I have been working on for some time now. I saw no other option but to get this out of my body, mind and soul. This album is the product of a personal moment in time which can never be reproduced. As the universe spins towards infinity, we can only vibrate to its motions or get swallowed up by despair. Thank you to everyone and everything, who and which contributed to this album whether realized or not. 6. King Goa Constrictor - A Psynny Afternoon Mix [::::download::::] (3hr04min/VariableMP3/391MB/©2013) Genre: Psynny Afternoon Psychedelic Trance I love seasons. Seasons are great. From the cold and rainy fall -> spring to the warm and sunny spring -> fall; seasons just kick ass. It's been a long spring of health issues, moving and car issues, and then stresses of broken bones and the beginning of summer festival season. Throughout it all, there have been stresses as well as joys. It's been overwhelmingly positive and I feel like life has grown much around me. Sometimes, on any particular day, I just need some good bouncy progressive and acidic psychedelic trance to feel the energies of the cosmos around me. Featuring tracks from: Zen Lemonade, Satori, Green Oms, Texas Faggott, eXuUs, Man With No Name, Koxbox, Sensient, Beat Bizarre, Jurek Przezdziecki, Ticon, Hallucinogen, Eraser vs Yojalka, Mantrix, Astroschautzer, Mista Spalding, Cycle Sphere vs Eskimo, The Zap, The Chemical Brothers, AudioGramme Metahuman, Ten-G, New Order, The Beatles, Beastie Boys, Kiwa, Pavel Svimba, Biz Markie, DJ 0.000001, Bruno Mars, Electric Universe, Transwave, and more! 7. Artist: Crop Circles Title: Lunar Civilization EP Label: DAT Records Date: June, 2013 1. Lunar Civilization 2. Antonomasia 3. Full Mental Jackpot (Pleiadians Remix) 4. Ghost Circles Crop f*cking Circles. Rising faster than an old man's erection on Viagra is the star that is DAT Records. This is a label run by Draeke that resurrects music from the golden age of goa trance that was unreleased or only put out on vinyl and then gives it the production values of today with new mastering. His 2 CD release of Etnica Live in Athens was one of the greatest gifts you could give an old schooler, but instead of standing on his success he continues to reach higher with his next offering. What do you get when you add Etnica + Lotus Omega? Crop f*cking Circles. Now this isn't his first date with this project. Remember the "lost" album Tetrahedron back in 08? So full of thick melodic layers he's been going strong ever since. And now we've learned that no task is too herculean. So it stands to reason that his long standing relationship with this Italian supergroup would continue to bear fruit. Like most of you I didn't have these vinyl EP's released back in 07 and even if I did what the hell would I play them on. So I had to make do with mp3's that I found on the net and I was happy to have them. But now I have the CD EP from DAT Records in its little cardboard sleeve cover and the planets seem to be back in alignment for this collector. The original vinyl EP from Auricle Records had just the tracks Lunar Civlization and Antonomasia. Awesome tracks full of spiraling melodies and complex layers to be sure, but then the CD version came out and it included the mind blowing remix of Full Mental Jackpot by the Pleiadians. But Draeke does you one better with the addition of a track I've never heard called Ghost Circles. It falls right into line with their crazy Italian style. Fast, multilayered melodies with tons of 303 goodness. To close this is another triumph for Draeke and DAT Records. He has succeeded in bringing some of the greatest goa trance tracks back into the light. The music sounds spectacular and keeps the genius that was Etnica alive. No longer do you have to shell out ungodly prices for this hard to find piece of goa history cause now he put it within everyone's reach. And you don't even need a f*cking record player, whatever the hell that is. Draeke you've got your had so deep in my pocket people are going to tell us to get a room. 10. Information : Artist : GoaTree Title : The Force Label : NeoGoa Date : 29 May 2013 Genre : Goa trance Tracklist : 1. Ray Subject - Nanoverse (GoaTree Remix) 2. Mementos Mortis 3. The Force 4. Sleeper 5. The Prayer Review : I recently heard about NeoGoa, a new label releasing newschool goa stuff. This is the project named "Morphic Resonance" who catched my intention and this is why I've been looking for other things made by this label. I've to say that Im not disappointed ! So NeoGoa come here with a little album (or a big EP, it's how you want) called "The Force", with 4 track from GoaTree, which I've never heard about, and one remix from the same person. Alright, let's check it ! Ray Subject - Nanoverse (GoaTree Remix) : This album start with a remix of Nanoverse, originaly from Ray Subject. At start it sound quite spacey and strange, but fast come some great melodies. It sound very nice, like an oldschool goa trance track released with newschool equipment. Later come strong acid lines, who slowly but surely get developed. Then you got a break with some background sounds which give this track a nice atmosphere, and then, BOOM, you got this kick in the face, accompanied with awesome melody, at 4:40 ! This whole track is excellent, with nice melodies and pretty good acid lines ! This is what gave me the desire to listen to the whole album. Mementos Mortis : After such a good first track, you always need something very good to continue the great serie. And GoaTree made it, oh boys. The track start with a strange sound but very fast come a very strong and heavy kick, just as I love it, giving this track a terrible rhythmic. Acid lines and background melodies follow, making of this track a nice song, combining a powerful kick with beautiful melodies. The bassline is very nice too : simple but effective. I particularly appreciate the sound coming at 4:49, it fits very well with the track ! To resume, that's a very good track. The Force : Another nice song, using a lot of melodies with a nice kick & snare to give this track some good vibes. The acid lines playing at beginning of the song are just awesome, oldschool forever ! This track contains a lot of beautiful melodies, which have always something changing second after second, making it great ! Nothing else to say, a good track, but not as good as the previous one. Sleeper : A sample, some background sounds, a rise, and here you are thrown in another song. This is the track with the highest BPM of the whole album, melodies are going faster and you quickly feel it. Here again, the tunes are pretty good, giving this track an oldschool aspect, with those kind of acid lines and uplifting melodies. It still has a good kick, with nice rythmic, using hat and snare. At 5:19 the track take another dimension : there's a flute melody with some voice samples at end of this one. I've say that I didnt except that, but it does fit very well with the rest of the song. Pretty good track here too ! The Prayer : What a track ! It starts with a huge powerful kick, I've rarely heard such loud one ! It's clear that at the beginning, this track as a more dark atmosphere than the other one of this album, because the background tunes are less melodic. But then come some nice synths notes. After this, a break, and then, at 4:10, GoaTree got all the elements he needs to make you dream ; he throws this great rythmic with the loud kick, and he serve it with an awesome melody, like you may hear in oldschool goa trance or in nitzhogoa tracks. Without forgetting the dark atmosphere of the beginning, it make a great combination. Is it already finished ? No, then come some beautiful voice samples, sounding somehow religious but who perfectly fits with the song, and giving this track a deeper atmosphere. And of course, on 6:52, we got back some famous acid lines, nicely filling the track. The song slowly ends with the voice samples. This is far away the best track of the album. Not a very good track : a legendary track, who surely deserve it's place in most of newschool goa trance compilations ! Overall : What an incredible surprise I got while listening to this album ! This if for me one of the best newschool goa trance album I've ever heard. It contains some very nice tracks, with a lot of wonderful melodies and pretty nice acid lines. There's also some amazing heavy kicks, giving those tracks nice rhythmic. The tunes made me think a lot about those nitzhogoa melodies. By the way, the last track is exceptionnaly good, it became a classical goa song to my ears ! Some word on the cover : A very nice cover, directly linked to the artist's name "GoaTree". A nice job from our forum mate Richpa ! Last thing : this album is free, avalaible on Ektoplazm ! Enough said for me ! Best track : 5 Worst track : 3 (Still a good one of course !) Rating : 9/10 To download it : Free @ Ektoplazm.com
  11. Artist: Various Title: Blacklight Moments Label: Suntrip Date: June, 2013 1. Wake Up And Smell The Ashes - Daimon 2. These Talking Machines - K.O.B. 3. Black Sun - Psychic Voyag 4. Viral Breath - Cosmic Dimension 5. Aramean Dreams - Khetzal 6. Emotional Overload - Javi and Sko0ma 7. Beyond Lightspeed (E-Mantra rmx) - Artifact 303 8. Naltayada - Skarma 9. Depth Of Consciousness -Mindsphere 10. Cosmic Fusion - Uth This could not have been any clearer. Ok, I might've ummm...I might've added that last bit. Suntrip, the alpha and omega of goa trance is back at it again with their latest compilation. Blacklight Moments brings well known artists together with a few newbies in an incredible exercise in melodic goa. Surprise surprise. The Mindsphere double album Patience For Heaven was an absolute treat, but this label doesn't seem satisfied with resting on previous successes. These guys give the people what they want. Want some downtempo? BAM! Opus Iridium and the Sweet Sadness of Electrypnose. Need some darkness in your goa? May I introduce you to the Temple of Chaos. I wish my credit card company was this attentive. So is this a worthy addition to the Suntrip library? Really? Wake Up and Smell the Ashes- "Rise and shine, Mister Freeman. Rise and... shine. Not that I... wish to imply you have been sleeping on the job. No one is more deserving of a rest, and all the effort in the world would have gone to waste until... well, let's just say your hour has... come again. The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world. So, wake up, Mister Freeman. Wake up and... *smell the ashes*..." For my money the dark alter-ego of Antares slayed it with his track Codex on Temple of Chaos. End of discussion. Back again with a creepy sample from the Halo game (don't ask me which one I had to look it up. Too busy getting laid) he once again incorporates the randomness of a little darkpsy into his goa trance. While infinitely less powerful than Codex it was still nice and dark with great sequences near the end. Proving once again that this young man who cannot even drink legally in my country has accomplished more than I have in more than twice his years. F*cker. Those Talking Machines- I'm not the biggest fan of this Filteria side project as I prefer his chaotic style more. This is an older track with dark mechanical intentions that more closely resembles tech-trance than goa. It's not very interesting to me, but what it lacks in evolution it makes up for in atmosphere. Not bad, but not great either. Black Sun- We're Psychic Voyag and we leave off the e cause our track is excellent. Why yes it is, chock full of twisting leads and spiraling strands of sunlight with no downtime. Not the deepest track you'll hear, but if this was Jello wrestling, Jannis just got a mouth full of strawberries. Viral Breath- The second newbie in a row must've impressed Mars & Anoebis. Good luck getting the acidic taste out of your mouth with this one. Melodic and powerful it's the sound that makes Suntrip what it is. Aramean Dreams- Responsible for one of the greatest goa trance albums ever in Corelle Matthieu Chamoux is back and it's like he never left. Melodic mysticism floats on electrically charged air as the ground itself pulsates with life. Volume and intensity increase as I try to focus on each new addition. Masterful. He just dropped the mic and left the stage with your girlfriend. Emotional Overload- As I mentioned in another review, these two are the Chang & Eng of goa. Always together. Off topic, but if you have sex with conjoined twins is it really a threesome? Just some of the things I think about. While you're discussing that, they deliver another power player that tumbles over itself with sharp melodies. Constantly evolving, maneuvering as if rocketing through an asteroid belt it leaves the melodies hanging in the air to guide you safely to the other side. Beyond Lightspeed (E-Mantra Remix)- Are these guys fighting? They're remixing each others' tracks in what seems like a goa pissing contest. With all that urine flying around the winners are the ones that don't get peed on. That would be us. E-mantra shows his hypnotic style with levels of melody climbing clouds like I do stairs. Screaming 303 madness with more aggressive knob twisting than gay porn. Ok, too far. The track of course is brilliant. Naltayada- They did it! They f*cking did it! I knew Suntrip would be the ones to get the band back together. After all this time and all the delays, you think this day will never come, but they did it. They managed to get Astral Projection to release some new goa material. What? That's not them? You gotta be kidding me...But it sounds just like...Oooh, this is awkward. You know what? F*ck 'em. Skarma you are now the new Astral. Great job with the sounds and layers of melody, but I'm gonna need 4 classic albums in...let's say 3 years. No pressure. Depth of Consciousness- The titans just keep on coming. After pseudo Astral Ali still has enough in the tank after PFH. It's slower, but deliciously complex. The melodies intertwine like an Indiana Jones snakepit warming the soul and supporting the body. This is so delightfully foreign and ethnic, I could never play this in my town. Might as well open up an Al-Quaeda travel agency. Not good to stir up the rednecks...they tend to get all shootey. Cosmic Fusion- Uth is Alex Lytvyn and his release Distant Instincts was stupendous. He shows his dreamy and downtempo skills with more layers than my sandwich. It's easily the most beautiful track here and a perfect way to end this compilation. I'm glad he got his opportunity with Suntrip to show what he could do. I'm getting tired of saying it (and I'm sure you might be getting tired of hearing it), but the boys from Belgium have done it again. Tracks full of melody and intricacy bring the trance like state to your front door. They've still got the Midas touch. Kudos to the artists who continue to paint the dreamlike tapestry that goa can be and also to Mars for carrying on with all that he's been going through. Another gem in the crown of the kings. Long live the king! Suntrip Psyshop Beatspace GoaStore Mdk

  14. Information : Artist : Various Title : Goa Trance Revolution Label : Goa-Trance.com Date : 08 May 2013 Genre : Goa trance Tracklist : 1. Afgin - Goa Ahead 2. Goasia - Sundance 3. Indoor - Bom Shankar 4. Radical Distortion - Asinar 5. S.U.N. Project - Out of my brain (Old school mix) 6. Liquid Flow - Subconscious Minds 7. Laughing Skull - The Shine Side 8. Omnivox - Corona 9. Blue Planet Corporation – Alidade (Classical Mix) Review : And here we go ! Goa-trance.com, which is at start just a facebook group, decided to contact some artist to release a compilaton of Goa trance song. So what you will find on this compilation will mostly be Newschool Goa trance song. One more thing to add : it's a limited edition (500 CD only). Afgin - Goa head : Compilation begins with this track from Afgin and I've to say I've seen better work from him. However, this ain't a bad track : a loud kick, some nice melody all along the song, by exemple at 4:41. Well, not an awesome track but not a bad track neither ! Goasia - Sundance : Sundance ! Ahh ! I don't know about you, but the sound wich start the song make me think of a desert, at midday, where the sun is so strong that nothing else resist to him ! Then, the song continue with a nice melody (Ok, some of you will say it's a bit cheesy, cmon guys that doesn't sound bad !) and an energizing rythmic ! Then it continue with other melodies ! The melodies are very oriental-like tunes, and for this compilation, it just fit perfectly ! Not necessery to say more about this track, that's a good one from Goasia ! Indoor - Bom Shankar : This is the kind of track, you only need to hear the kick, the bass and the intro to know it's gonna be an amazing release ! And that's it ! Bom Shankar, from Indoor, start with a nice and strong kick, accompanied with nice bassline. There's a kind of goa tune in background, and then comme the main melody : WAOUV ! A very nice melody, which one give a "dark" aspect to this track (Nothing to do with dark psytrance...). Then you got another melody, Im not going to give you the entire description of the song, just to say you, the melodies are very nice, fits very well with the kick & bass, the song got a nice structure, the intro is nice, the tune are also awesome....I personnaly think it's the best track of this compilation ! Radical Distortion - Asinar : A short intro and a powerfull kick for this track ! And it fast comes with melodies ! What to say about this song ? Well, there's some nice Melodies (haha you're going to tell me I've said it for every track but damn isn't that true ?!), and I like how some break are made. For example, at 4:14. Oh and I forgot about the bassline, wich is quite nice ! That's it, not an amazing but a good track ! S.U.N. Project - Out of my brain (Old school mix) : As this is an Old school Mix, I decided to listen to the original mix before review this one. So let's be honest : the original one is a nice psy-trance track (altought I consider it has a goa kick, the melody are more psytrance than goa). I've heard a lot of old school goa song remixed in psy-trance or progressive psy-trance, but i've rarely (to be honest never) heard the opposite. And that's what we got with this old school mix. So, it start with a nice kick and pretty simple but nice bassline. Than come the main tune, this guitar melody, which is very nice and change of the oriental-like melody used in the other song, but not very different of the original mix. Where it does change, it's how the melody is re-used in the other part of the song, it's very well used, the structure make it more goa-trance like, a nice work so. Only little thing : the damned melody starting at 4:36 !!! Guys, im Sorry to have to say that, but it sound like butchering an ostrich Except that, it's a good overall track, with good guitar tune. Liquid Flow - Subconscious Minds : A good track, with dynamic melody and strong kick. You know it sound a bit like those nitzhonot tune : it goes a bit "everywhere", but in this goa trance song, the melody are well compacted, I means they do fit with the structure of the track. To be honest, one of the reason why I bought the compil', is that I heard a preview of every track and the preview of this one just amazed me ! Laughing Skull - The Shine Side : A nice song, with deep and powerfull melodies ! The one starting at 3:46 is just amazing, the best of the entire album for me ! You can also hear a very short voice sample at end of the track, if I state it it's because there's very very few voice sample in this compilation ! There's a nice outro. A nice song overall, the second best one of the compilation for me ! Omnivox - Corona : I am a bit disappointed of this song. I find the first melody cheesy, however the other one are ok, it's just this first one, who come back several time in the song which doesn't sound great to me. There's a nice break in the middle/end of the track, then it slowly grow up and when you're at the top, here come a damned melody...Yes, this cheesy melody ! That's seriously the "black point" of this track, except that, it's an okey track ! At the end of the track this cheesy melody is even being better ! Blue Planet Corporation – Alidade (Classical Mix) : Here we go with last track of this compil' ! First of all, I like the introduction, slowly growing, but slowly being strong, with nice tune ! Well, this is a Classical Mix, I don't know what the "classical" stand for, I just saw that the original Mix was longer than this one, and had a different mastering, a longer intro...(To be honest I didn't listen to the entire original mix, I know this is a classic for goa trance, but excuse me there's so much to listen in the psychedelic trance!). So, to make it short, it's a very nice track, very soft, with those piano melodies, this pretty nice kick and this soft atmosphere ! It make me think a bit about "Jaia - Mai Mai", but in a different way ! As mai mai, it's very soft and relaxing, but there's no voice sample. So, a pretty nice track, which fit well for a compilation ending. Overall : Goa trance Revolution is a very good newschool goa trance compilation ! If you like newschool goa trance, I strongly recommend it, it has nice melodies ! If you're more an oldschool goa trance fan, I still recommend it, because you know, there's not much newschool goa trance compilation and this one is the perfect example of what newschool goa trance is ! 16. Artist: Various Title: Pure Planet Label: Kagdila Records Date: July, 2004 1. Shakti - DEEPER IN ZEN 2. The jar - SOLIPTIC 3. Hyper nova - AZRIEL 4. In my world - ESSENTIAL TRIP 5. Flying objects always reach the ground - SNEILA 6. Forest - GOASIA 7. Guetto - GOASIA 8. Paranoid - GOASIA 9. The dreamers guide - SNEILA Yeah, I went old school on you. Wait a minute...that's new school. Old new school. Yeah, I took you to some kind of unfunded learning institution that has old textbooks and one computer in the teacher's lounge running AOL on dial up. Kagdila Records is a USA label and I seem to remember some discussion where artists were unhappy with Mr. Shu-ki Golan. Probably didn't pay them. Great, more reasons to hate the US. Anyway this was an early new school psytrance / goa trance compilation that for me doesn't get started until track number five. Oh there are four tracks before it, but like cold pizza if there's nothing else around I'll eat it. Just not my first choice. Or second. Hmmm....doesn't even rank in my top ten. So that leaves 5 tracks by two projects. Might as well be a Sneila / Goasia EP. Hardly worth paying for a compilation, but I'm a completionist so I did. Flying Objects seemed like a revelation almost a decade ago with it's rolling synthline and at over 10 minutes you're in the clouds for a long time. Forest is pretty good with some quality detail if you listen. I just can't stomach that shanai sounding lead. Moving on to Ghetto it's full of sounds that you wouldn't hear on albums today, but it's diversity makes it a treat. The last Goasia track Paranoid is darker with an eerie atmosphere. The final Sneila track is a hands down growler of a beast. Dark and bubbly with undulating goa fire! So there you go. Not a classic by any means, but it's an early arrow in the quiver of the blossoming new school movement. Psyshop Beatspace Juno Download Beatport Mdk

  18. Artist: PharaOm Title: Shelter 10 Label: Future Disorder Recordings Date: April, 2013 1. Welcome To Shelter 10 2. Inside the Core 3. Meeting Roy and Chip (Interlude) 4. Laser Highways 5. Anti-Gravity Module 6. Biomechanical Civilization 7. The Bucky Biospheres (Interlude) 8. Back To Titan 9. Nanosurgery I love science fiction and fantasy. Movies, books, comics...if that makes me a nerd then so be it. I've made an active effort to stay away from video games because that's a black hole of time into which I would surely plummet. Today things are different. It's not like it was when I was a kid. Now it's cool to be into "graphic" comics and as long as Hollywood keeps making millions on superhero movies you'll still see men running around in tight underwear. As well as the nerds who love them. PharaOm is Oswald Pfeiffer who recently released the remixes to his track Cellar Door as well as the very good Tesseract album for free. He's right back at it with more free music. Shelter 10 is a digital maxi EP that attempts to redefine what goa trance can be. Seemingly never satisfied with the status quo this album rides the space theme to a human (and extra terrestrial) colony that is filled with futuristic sounds, industrial machinery, as well as storming goa riffs. Jam packed I tell ya. There are even two interludes, one including two bickering robots. Corny yes, but it's all a rich tapestry. This is a great mixture of psytrance with goa elements that include experiments in dubstep that work very well. He closes things out with a competent downtempo track that attempts to put Humpty Dumpty back together again after some limb loss in the robot conflict. Story time. My favorite track has to be the blistering Biomechanical Civilization that just shreds anything unlucky enough to cross its path. The biggest step outside of the box has to be Back on Titan with its brief singing and out front guitars. But he balances it out with symphonic strings and more space goa. The whole thing is a marvelously detailed escape to the stars. Highly recommended. Free at Soundcloud Mdk

The man behind this project, Luis Pabón, has been a huge part of our netlabel for the last three years, releasing his music on almost every compilation that we've managed to publish so far. He also appeared on compilations by Phototropic and Underground Alien Factory Records, and now in 2013 he is finally releasing his long awaited album - AURYN. His vision of the modern goa trance sound can be described as highly melodic yet groovy and chunky story driven psychedelia. The concept and story of AURYN is based on 'The Neverending Story' fantasy novel by Michael Ende. 23. Artist: Various Title: Voyager: First Plateau Label: Hado Records Date: December, 2012 1. Order to chaos ALIENAPIA 2. Psychotria Viridis HYPNOTIC SIGNAL 3. Beyond the clouds CELESTIAL INTELLIGENCE 4. Cosmic Voyage ELEUSYN 5. Hyphneone SKARMA 6. Dansul Ielelor (Artifact303 rmx) E-MANTRA 7. Distorted Visions SOUL KONTAKT 8. Amnesia Reaction FILTERIA 9. Path to Sychelia ASIRION 10. Daydreamer ARTIFACT303 Who are you Hado Records? Who are you really? I think we need to get a close up look at what's going on here. Whoa Whoa! Too f*cking close! Yikes, I think a dentist is in order. Hado Records is a label that is quickly making a name for itself. Their first re-release was the highly underrated classic Lost in Time by Zirrex which is one of the all time classics in goa trance. But they didn't just re release it...oh no they gave it the 3 CD treatment with new mastering and some new tracks. Awesome stuff. So here is their second release: a compilation of some of the best new school goa artists the genre has to offer as well as some names you might not be familiar with. This is modern goa trance with an infinite number of melodic spirals. Bomb after bomb of pumping stuff beginning with the first we've heard from Alienapia since their blistering Goapoca...however the f*ck you spell it way back in 2010. You can always pick out the floating E-mantra style which continues to be awesome, but we also get the first release from Skarma who shows a lot of promise. Artifact303 is back with a real treat as he tackles Danseul Ielelor and makes it as massive as the original. Then the compilation takes a turn beginning with Distorted Visions towards a less aggressive posture. Filteria's track while beautiful is more sunshine and soft edges and less stacks of melody threatening to crush the life out of you (I like that by the way). Me thinks he's stretching his creative muscles and besides that when was the last time you heard a Filteria track that was just 6 and a half minutes? I'll tell you, never. Asirion delivers a progressive style goa effort that is beautiful and flowing as the Hungarian heavyweight closes things out as if to remind you that he's still a boss in this here goa thing. And he is. Beautiful melodies and bursting with layers and depth. You da man Zsolt. This one kinda got lost in the shuffle. You know Christmas time, life gets a little crazy. Another great goa trance release that gets more friendly for those who may find that goa can get too heavy and in your face. All the tracks were very good and I recommend this highly. 24. Artist: Koxbox Title: Forever EP Label: Matsuri Productions Date: 1999 1. Insect & Insect Bite (Split Mix) 2. Space Interface 3. Loads of Flow (Molecular Mix) Like dancing bananas on the run after a prison break this EP is unnecessary. If you have the first album Forever After from Koxbox that is because these three tracks are all on it. The star of the show is Insect & Insect Bite with its downright evil and malicious intent. It's pumping and sinister and has a twirl factor of Avogadro's number. I don't like it when artists or labels put out an ep that gives the customer nothing new. Blatant cash grab and the practice should be outlawed. Although I'm sure God didn't say, "Whattya mean I gotta give him two testicles? You think nuts grow on trees?" Mdk
  25. Artist: Various Title: Aliens Disco Label: NMC Music Date: 1997 1. Rhythmystec - Cathexis 2. Slinky Wizard - Slick Witch 3. Unconscious Collective - Fluorostani Transcendance 4. Tranceplant - Dying Planet 5. Tranceplant - Inverse Population 6. P. Cok - Em Em 7. Zouk feat. Transcendental E - Vicious 8. P. Cok - Ta Koli Oh look, you can get a mint copy of this on Discogs for only $80! Buy this if you like throwing your money down the toilet. Homie doesn't have a rating and still wants you to trust him to send you the CD after you fork over the 80 bucks? Yeah, that might happen. There is a better chance Salma Hayek will call me to give her a breast exam. "I realize this is taking a long time Mrs. Hayek and I appreciate your patience, but we must be absolutely sure." 80 f*cking dollars. I wouldn't pay 80 dollars for I.F.O. Ok maybe I would. Just uh, don't...don't tell my wife. Aside from that tremendous leap of faith there are a few good tracks here. Cathexis and Slick Witch are juicy favorites that spread the 303 love around. The Vicious track and Dying Planet were nice surprises as they also gave 303 lovers something to move to. P. Cok gives us both sides of their creativity with the sneaky Em Em, but then decides to see what it would sound like if they made one riff and then went to McDonalds. But 80 dollars? Are we even sure there's a human at the other end of that Discogs account? Mdk
