aaargh, sorry, I thought I was replying in the recent record purchases thread, feel free to ignore me and my absentmindedness. *goes to sit in the corner*

Whaaat? Surely you mean Dimension Disco / Cognitive Dissidents, right? or the whitelabel Sale Of The Century / Dimension Disco (Dead Sea Mix)? Just checkin', because if there another version I need to find myself a copy...
-
Yes I'm sure he does. I'm just wildly amused over how uptight you guys are over this - you both seem to have misread the tone of my postings entirely. And besides, it's not exactly far fetched to believe that someone who mistakes Quirk for Slide (and with such a known track, too) has it as a misnamed MP3. So I went for it, tongue in cheek. Relax, I ain't calling the MP3 police on you, I was just poking fun.
-
Quirk? Snap out of the mp3 haze, kiddo. The track is by Slide. I would personally vote for some of Nick Taylors 1996-era output on Psy-Harmonics. I listened to Reflecta - "Creatures" the other day and it's fucking madness. There's some deeply disturbing unreleased Ka-Sol stuff too.

Mine is in my signature, but anyhow: http://www.discogs.com/user/ukiro

I can't guess very well without having heard the track. Some goa trance with the word blood in the title: Vasilisk - "Hyper Blood" Killing Joke - "Love Like Blood" (See remixed by deedrah and johann for trance versions) Xenomorph - "Acid For Blood" Yamabikaya - "Red Blood Thunder" Blue Planet Corporation - "Over Bloody Flood" Dtox - "Bloodrush" Antix - "Blood" (but this is from 2004 I think) Psychotic Micro - "Digital Blood" (2002, so it's probably too new as well)

Although you may be unaware of this, some of us have access to unreleased music. Such as myself, for example. And I have never ever even heard of an Etnica track by that name, so seeing as I'm a fairly obsessed and knowledgeable (oldschool) Etnica fan I'm rather sure that if there was such a track, I'd be aware of its existence. Now I cannot know with absolute certainty, obviously. And I never claimed to do so, either. But rest assured that I know fairly well what lurks in the Etnica archives. The closest sounding to that title is one called Blue Womb, which is indeed an unreleased Etnica track.
-
I'm pretty sure there is no etnica track by that name. where did you hear about it? The crop circles track can be found in a 128kbps version that is doing rounds on the P2P networks. It was meant to be on their album, which never saw the light of day.

"( )" - to be listen to as a whole. While I have yet to listen to "Takk..." more than a few times, I think ( ) will remain their best album for me. If you don't appreciate it, I don't think they're for you at all. And if you think that one is bland... just... wow.
-
It's absolutely fucking stellar. Not the same devastating plunge into isolation and sadness as "( )", but just so... awesome. Truly a worthy follow-up.

Sigur Rós - Takk... http://www.discogs.com/release/517411 EDIT: cancelled the submission above since I saw their site has more production credits listed, need to add that.

Yeah I'm super thrilled about our little Mexico tour! And do tell ANY party promoters in the country that they can get one hell of a show in early january if they want... There more bookings we can score, the cheaper it will be for everyone!

...and the lullmeister himself beat me to it =)

FU {<------ Abbreviation} Get the Schlabbaduerst compilations right from the label. It's all Uppsala goodness, with plenty of ka-sol tracks. Number two is the most accessible while number 1 and 4 have some of my all-time favourites from him: http://listen.to/schlab

Read again. I sold my extra copy of the BPC cd to some japanese guy for 50 euro some months ago.

Sure 192 can sound worse than 128, With a crappy encoder. Compare 192 in the old Xing encolder to 128 in the most recent LAME, and you will doubtlessly pick the latter. There isn't just a single way to encode an MP3, so the choice of encoder (and its settings) is essential for the quality of the output.
-
Procs is an AMAZING talent, but I think you need to hear his music in the proper setting to fully get it - I *strongly* encourage you to book him for some party, and indeed it's night-time music... Quality-wise it's waaay above pretty much all other "dark psy" stuff out there, in my opinion.

The links to my mixes took my server down (you guys sure clicked those a lot) so they've been deactivated for now.

black metal.

Aaah, some interesting stuff here.... Could you give me some sort of price quote on these? Preferrably individual prices, but a joint price for the whole lot would be nice too. I'm a little low on trading ammo right now, but here's a fairly complete list in terms of vinyl: http://www.discogs.com/collection?user=ukiro_FOR_SALE

Damn Astro Cortex, you're erally going for the full Fax discography, aren't you? I've been meaning to investigate this label for sooo long, but never get around to it... How many do you have now?
-
Wow, thats a NICE set of records =) I still don't have a single monolake release =( But my girlfriend has a few so I can always play those... Monolake is quite possibly the most innovative and refreshing act to grace the "IDM" scene in many, many years...

ooh, no I didn't know - thanks for letting me know! I doubt I have anything to offer him though... but I'll give it a shot! =)
