  1. Sure, nice bass, but not nearly the depth of that Delta track. How loud you percieve the bass to be depends on your speakers, their position in your room and the overall size & shape of said room. I still say "Thing (d.Edit)" is number 1.
  2. The Delta - "Thing (d.Edit)" I don't think anything will ever top this.
  3. This has no business being in Discogs. It's not a label-issued promo, its just a DAT copy. If this is allowed in, ALL unreleased music is allowed... A lot of weird shit gets voted into Discogs, but I'm actually surprised this made it in.
  4. Bought this earlier this week: Ondskapt - Dödens Evangelium http://www.discogs.com/release/544336 (still pending) One of the better black metal albums I've been able to find lately. ...and forgot to mention these in my last post: Pound System - Tooled Up http://www.discogs.com/release/371584 Various - Gaia 1+2 http://www.discogs.com/release/186190 STILL a bunch of vinyls missing in the mail, and it's getting worrying... Should have some pretty insane posts here towards the end of next week, and if the other vinyl drops in by then it'll set a new record for the thread I think =) BTW DP- nice to hear that seller proved out to be legit, I've won one of hers/theirs too, recently...
  5. Good catch, it's a real rarity! Nothing compared to the last 2 Kavator vinyls, but still =)
  6. My GF has Streams & Currents and I have Atmospheric Conditions... and yeah it's a tough call. I don't listen to Atmospheric Conditions much, mainly because the Mystic Chords box and Darkest Before Dawn fills that mood slot better for me personally. But Streams & Currents is also a lot like the box set (even in the sleeve design), so... Get both =)
  7. This sounds like what the second Hux Flux album should have been. Judging by the samples, that is.
  8. 60 second samples: http://www.beatspace.com/dettagli/dettaglio.asp?id=2100
  9. I think they're different both in terms of mood and in terms of production. Like two similar looking houses, but one of wood and one of stone, or something. The basic matter of the records is different.
  10. The subtleties in these types of recordings takes a while to find. They need to be absorbed in full several times over in order to get to know them. At the samer time I do agree that he has a very distinct sound that is well represented in both the releases you mention, but still - give them some time. This music needs to be listened to with different ears than trance or rock, and having several of his purely atmospheric records allows me to pick from a richer palette of sounds when I feel like going into this soundworld.
  11. I have it and I like it. However, I feel that it is sometimes too generic; When I first got into his sound in 2000, The Magnificent Void was the style that impressed me the most. But I didn't get around to buying it until earlier this year, and at that point I felt a much stronger connection to some of his other stylistic variations. So I think it's a very nice album and quite rightfully a classic, but the chronology in which I bought some of his records messed up my chances of experiencing it with a "blank mind", so to speak - I was already spoiled by some of his later works.
  12. 14 (?). The musical inbreeding. In the mid nineties, pretty much all the artist had a background in other music. They each brought their individual influences to this scene. Now, all the psy-trance artists get their inspiration from other psy-trance artists. There is a suffocating lack of fresh blood. The moods of the music has changed very radically from the nineties as well, even if you can hear some seeds to full-on in a 96 release or some oldschool vibes in a 2005 release. For me, this mood change symbolises a change of mindset for the whole scene, and it's one I can't indentify with in the same way as the 1990's style.
  13. Yeah Steve handles all orders from his site personally (well his wife Linda does some too) and is a really nice guy if you have any special requests etc. About half of my Roach CDs are signed too.
  14. If you like the beatless stuff, get the Mystic Chords & Sacred Spaces 4CD box. I think the actual box is sold out though, but the two 2CD sets are still available. This is his best all-atmospheric work to date, IMHO. If you enjoy that one, check out Darkest Before Dawn, which is a single 74 minute track made for endless repeating. I once listened to this exclusively for 2 solid weeks (looping 24/7) - it really does strange things to your head... a very rewarding and interesting experience. Midnight Moon is another pretty much beatless release, and it's one of his darker albums. I find it very suitable for long winter nights spent alone in the dark... From his electronic rhythmic work, I absolutely love Core and Blood Machine. The predecessor of Blood Machine, Body Electric, never got through to me properly though. As for his tribal stuff, I find Trance Spirits to be utterly amazing - tracks 1, 6 & 7 are so totally incredible, while a few in the middle are merely deserving 4 out of 5 =) Still, excellent stuff. I can't get into the slower tribal-esque stuff like Mantram, but your milage may vary. I think Life Sequence is pretty uneven, and it is a compilation album with stuff spanning 15 years... but I bought it only for track 2, the 17 minute long "Living The Dream" from 1991 - this is NOT dated! A truly incredible sequencer-driven track in that magic 160 bpm region. The record is worth it for this track alone. Out of the Roach albums I have, Kiva is the one I enjoy the least.
  15. Tabbed browsing and the immense amount of 3rd party add-ons ("extensions") such as AdBlock is what makes me stay with FF. IE7 will have tabs so we'll see, but all the little details jsut feel right with FF, and I've customized it exactly the way I want a browser to be. I coudln't do that on IE without hacking the executable, which in turn would render it impossible to update. I'm much much more efficient with FF than I coul possibly be with IE.
  16. Can I have a price on these? http://www.discogs.com/release/60956 http://www.discogs.com/release/141216 http://www.discogs.com/release/64033
  17. Various - Enlightenment http://www.discogs.com/release/52158 Various - Gaia 1+2 http://www.discogs.com/release/186190 Soma - Amanita Muscaria http://www.discogs.com/release/491591 Biot - Synthetic Organic http://www.discogs.com/release/194690 Various - Pro Cannabis 4 http://www.discogs.com/release/202421 starting to get worried about some vinyl packages that have yet to arrive...
  18. I never wrote that - it's your skewed interpretation. It might help if you re-read my posts, but I'm well aware that you have no desire to understand what other people think or mean.
  19. And I never wrote that. Try again. It might help if you re-read my posts.
  20. That has absolutely nothing to do with what I wrote.
  21. I sort of assume that this is directed to me (in part)... although I've never been a dedicated follower of any specific moral guidelines (including PLUR) I feel inclined to defend my posts here: I'm just giving Cinos some of his own medicine. His nit-picking just for the sake of it is getting to my nerves, and whenever I get the chance I will now retort in his own tone. I think you can all agree that it's been needed for a long time, but pretty much noone here seems to have the patience and/or linguistic proficiency to do so. But initially the reason I wrote in here was that Lost Buddha's statement was a direct contradiction of what he's posted in the past. And given his previous praise of Filteria, he was looking like a hypocrite, which I felt the urge to expose.
  22. Even with your prominent learning disability, I was expecting you to know by now that I can, in fact, read. And if you haven't figured out how touse the search function yet, I did a search for you. Scroll down to the last post of the page. There's plenty more, but I can't be arsed. Good night.
  23. The other day I got: Growling Mad Scientists - Chaos Laboratory http://www.discogs.com/release/161303 Had the vinyl already, but the CD was cheap... Still waiting for a lot of vinyl.
  24. I think there is evidence in form of posts on this forum that his first one was impressive too...
  25. I agree - 10/10. This so endlessly amazing. It never leaves my MP3 player, I want to have access to this at all times. Also recommended is Steve's solo album "Core" which is very much in the same vein, and another solid 10/10.
