ive learned that rotwang has a very good taste in psytrance. i think though - most psytrance these days tend to be too much fullon, and "too crisp" sound 'quality'. When Access virus TI made an entrance, you could hear it, as many artitsts ran alot of mixing thru that synth, and its evident in many many tracks. These days I think there is a similar trend going around, although i cant pinpoint a culprit - but most psytrance sounds alike. goatrance is starting to go down that road too, but the nature of goatrance wont allow it to get TOO similar, though, which is nice. few genres are as complex as goatrance, and its just no way most goatrance will sound TOO similar. but psytrance and especially psytrance with the rolling 3 note one-note basslines - tend to sound extremely similar. Sometimes, even older psytrance and fullon from Talamasca and Electric Universe - can sound exactly the same. Compare the psytrance by MWNN from the epic and genious album Interstate Highway - with his latests sound. They are completely different as even MWNN has gone into the vortex of "too crisp" 'sound quality' and its no longer easily identified as MWNN. Same symptom that happened with the virus, then stopped happening for a while - then started happening again, and even a gangstar like MWNN with his latest stuff does it. it takes away the soul of the music - when the mixing is too perfect. luckily as said goatrance cant go into the same destiny as its too complex for it to sound perfect. and even when it does sound perfect, like artifact303 and nova fractal - its still unique enough cause few artists can even make it work. like literally, you can count them on one hand. psytrance and fullon especially - but even dark psytrance - just sounds way too similar these days. Psykovsky, for example, sounds very unique due to his amazing talent, even though his music is horrifying, cause its so real and "synaptic", he still has unique style in mixing, too, i mean Wishful Sinful is still amazing and i can never get bored of that one, but alot of forest and dark is currently stuck in this strange mixing vortex where everything just sounds too similar, just when virus TI was the hype. Ok, that was one of the most incoherent posts ive made yet. If anyone can make complete sense of it, congrats!

i get it now i think. but what are the mono cables used for? the xlr trs mono cable for example. I learned that it is not balanced but im wondering what its purpose is. possibly electric guitars and a small amp? it doesnt matter though and i know what cable to get now, and it also makes alot of sense what balanced actually is.

great, then i thank you for the new knowledge! my curiosity though, must ask, what if i used mono cables - balanced ones - if they even exist - would/could happen? and this is of course just for my own curiosity. and the followup would be - are there balanced XLR/TELE cables that is mono? microphones are usually mono arent they? so they are exclusively for microphones then, i assume, and not for connecting monitors to an interface. edit: i think i got it - so for a cable to be balanced , with xlr on one end, it would HAVE to be stereo or it couldnt be balanced?

for me, the album doesnt have big surprises - for me the big surprise is the masterfully produced sounds and leads. as a producer i enjoy that alot more than the actual music these days. Which is why i love astral so much, cause of their stellar skills in the actual mixing of the sounds. im fairly bored with this album already - but i still think it is the best production to come from suntrip yet. after that fact - i can more carefully dissect the actual music - and yeah, there is alot lacking in that regard.

yeah i buy that and all that technical stuff, but i guess i cant wrap around the fact that you should use a stereo cable on a mono source, when there are mono cables that would do the same thing. and for me mono means one channel, stereo means two, and i dont wanna use the word balanced or unbalanced as i dont fully understand what it means - other than the fact that it will either have the same impendance throughout- or not, and i didnt think it had anything to do with a cable being stereo or mono. i think im getting it though. and if so, i learned something brand new today and i thank you for it i would have never guessed to use a stereo cable for L, and another stereo cable for R. well, i might have used it but i would always think if it would cause issues, which of course led to my question in the first place. but just to put an end to the discussion and make a final saying in the matter : for both the left and the right outputs on my soundcard - and obviously then also for both inputs on the speakers - I should use a stereo cable for L and one for R - and NOT mono cables?

But if the ouput is mono why would you want to use a stereo cable? Also, how can the other channel run in parallell if the input is mono? i think im understanding the concept but im still confused, which may or may not be my own doing But logic says, if the ouput is mono - then the cable should be mono. if the output is stereo then of course youd want a stereo cable. so to your logic, and again im being completely honest in my confusion: what "would happen" if i used a mono cable when you say a stereo cable is intended? edit: btw, i asked about a cable that was mono and it was a XLR - TELE cable and he said that cable was unbalanced, and im confused how a XLR cable can be unbalanced if you say they are not by defintion since its xlr. damn this is probably alot more confusing than it needs to be and i blame myself fully, of course.

yeah but, ok now im confused. lets forget the terminology for a moment, and look at the two options here. a stereo cable and a mono cable. The mono cable is intended as the output is mono. i.e there are two outputs. Not one - as for example on a pc motherboard sound interface or any and all laptops. Then - you should of course use a stereo cable if you want both channels. But in this case - where there is one output for left, and one for right - its intended to use two mono cables. using a stereo cable would be a "waste" so to speak, considering there is only one channel per output - and not two - like the aforementioned example. So would it be ok to use a stereo cable in that scenario, or would the extra unused channel on the cable - i.e the extra circle on the jack - cause issues.

im sorry, i confused myself. the xlr on the speaker is ofc female. the cable is male. so using a stereo cable instead of a mono cable should be fine then? i.e two stereo cables - one for L and one for R. instead of two mono cables which is intended. the soundcard obviously has a L and R output both are balansed tele, female. just wondering, like i said if its ok to use a stereo cable instead of a mono cable.

Hi! The monitors have both XLR and TELE (6,3mm) inputs, both of which are balanced. The cable im looking at has a stereo tele jack, instead of a mono one. And im wondering wether or not its ok to use that cable even though its stereo. Considering its intended to use a mono cable for each speaker. Would using a stereo cable cause issues. yes but with winSCP comes the ability to easily chose wether or not to use ftp over SSL, sftp or ftp. and easily saved into shortcuts. password and all. this is necessary as i work as webmaster for 5 different sites and managing them thru the console or natively in the UI would be too much hassle. Besides, winscp makes it a breeze to edit files on the fly aswell. i do 99% of all coding inside the winscp text editor and im so acustomed to that now - im inclined to use it thru Wine - if no equal alternative for linux exists. Which im positive there must. i dont think sound and video will be a problem since its an ASUS laptop and has common hardware. At least I wouldnt think that there would be a problem but who knows. Manufacturers these days do not make it easy on the customer. For example - the RAM casing on the back is fitted with a screw - that doesnt have any grooves. Which makes it impossible to change RAM withouth either forcing it open or dismantle the entire pc. Also making the drivers native to windows 8.1 and 10 - while eliminating 7 - is worthy of conspiracy theories, considering that windows 10 is a massive spy tool - and windows 10 home users dont even have the ability to use GPEDIT to disable most of the spying.. AND they gladly give it free of cost... yeah... bodhi seems like a great alternative.

speaking of filterias bright and beautiful leads - listening to mindspheres latest creation makes me think of exactly the moment when i REALLY heard "rotate to vibrate" the first time. Those two notes, at the end of the main theme, just put wonder and amazement in my head. Nothing has made me feel that way, since then, until just now with mindspheres new album. Khetzal came close with Listening Winds but this is like, damn. I mean just the first track of the album is like, an adventure in music. and thats rare as fuck these days i think. And its just an intro. many seek it, but alas, many do fail. this is an example of success.

this is the Best thing from suntrip so far. and i wouldnt have been unsatisfied if those words never came out of my mind. but they did. suntrip and of course the artist - excelled the sonic boundaries with this release. Such pristine production. There isnt a dull moment in this album and the production value, i.e the mixing, the time spent, the talent, this album is truly a spectacle of goatrance, and mindsphere is an artisan of the craft. And the fact that I can hear almost every single artist in the goatrance genre, in this album, tells me this artist has been a true goatrance fan for many many years and it feels like this album is almost a tribute to the music itself. I tell you, its a damn beatiful thing, this. Im baffled by the quality and truly humbled by it.

yeah but i dont think he is in a financial slump, so just sending money while it might be greatly appreciated seems boring. I wanna buy him a medal! It might cost 5 dollars, that doesnt matter, its the thought that count and I wanna make sure he knows that we love him, and a medal for his efforts is a good idea i think. amazing! that first one, 1:31:16, wow. soo good. truly intelligent and mature sound. every key and note feels like they got a story to tell. as a producer myself; it sounds like you use a MPC and an old AKAI sampler, but I wouldnt be surprised if its just software, but it certainly have a hardware feel to it. as a music fan, it just sounds great.

is a big struggle. Im not happy with windows 10 at all, and windows 7 is not an option due to the lack of drivers for that OS. So Im left with windows 10 or linux. Linux is a struggle and hassle in and of itself, but its also a bit of fun. The main things I need to have working is * vpn (i use PIA VPN and i think there is a linux client) * a sturdy FTP client like "winSCP" * chrome (due to my personalisation of chrome as it is right now, and all my bookmarks that automatically shows up when i log into my gmail account. Firefox is not an option, Ill even use chrome in WINE if there is no other way, as i dont know if chrome even exists on linux) * fully working audio and video looks is also important, and while im familiar with Enlightenment im fairly happy with Gnome too. Im also familiar with the Debian package system so Id prefer a Debian based dist. Ubuntu and Linux Mint are two dists ive worked in alot and i would like to try something different.. Any suggestions and discussion is welcome.

Hi. Is it possible to use a balanced XLR male -> TELE male with stereo; to use in place of one that is mono? Im worried the extra channel on the plug will somehow cause issues and perhaps short or in other ways disturb the signal. Thanks!

after a few years (or so it feels) i have changed my view on death a bit. i still believe in "reincarnation" for a lack of a better word - but perhaps its of intelligent design. i.e you can choose if you want to reincarnate or not - and if you even get the choice at all. heaven and hell seems like a nice concept but i dont think there is much truth to it. browsing the deepweb only for a bit - tells me that hell; no matter how it would exist - is very well justified. Some humans do not deserve to breath the same air as the rest of us - and if there is any just energy in all of existance - it would be a nice thing if these wicked and truly evil souls got the torment they deserve. Now, im not one to pass judgement on people and when I read about the death sentence - which i am opposed - i just feel sorry for their families and so on. Like "porr mom, to have their son executed" and so on. But like I said - once exploring the deep web, the dark net to be exact; i can only hope there is an eternity of torment awaiting these people. I hate to pass a judgement like that but all humanity and all goodness is completely lost in some individuals and all that exist is true evil. But anyawy, i think if youve lived a life of love, whether it be love for your mom, love for music, love for whatever - that includes people who are very sad and depressed and killthemselves - i think the ability to reincarnate and try again; exists. It would seem strange to me, if a wonder so strong and so strange as the human spirit - for it to only exist for a short period of time seems like a waste. and we already know looking at nature - that nature does NOT waste. so why would it waste a soul? and yes, the soul is most undeniably real. There is just no way that surroundings and upbringing means everything. There is something deeper and more profound than that, i think. So it must also be something equally profound that happens AFTER death. Its just logic, for me. Commenting on deja vu from paul; yeah i also believe or think that deja vu happens when you remember something from a past life. then again, it just might be a natural occurance of having a complex brain. we already know that our memory works in mysterious ways so im sure that agnostics and non-believers (in a god) are satisfied with the scientific approach. But no agnostic can ever tell me they have the answers to everything, and that is when faith happens. it is the belief of something greater. While that might also be a natural occurence of having a complex brain - its still not enough of an answer to claim fact.
