You can fall at any given moment. And when that fall inevitably happens, well, you better be prepared to face whatever comes next... What have we gotten ourselves into, this time? Hard to tell. What's certain is that we've fallen into the wrong side and now, in an unexpected turn of events, have no choice but to fight our inner demons. 4. This week on Psylicious Radio we welcome Belgian based Goa trance label, Goa Madness Records, who will be providing you all with some tranced out hypnotic bliss featuring a DJ set from Kuririn with producer live showcases from Ephedra and Moon Beasts. Enjoy! Goa Madness Records is a Belgian Goatrance label created during the summer 2013 by Ephedra & Kuririn, releasing fresh Goa trance coming from all horizons. Goa Madness aims to provide various styles ranging from acidic & highly psychedelic Goa trance that will perfectly fit on every dancefloor during the night, to more melodic, spiritual or euphoric Goatrance that will raises the smiles in parties during the shiny mornings. Listen to the show: KURIRIN [Goa Madness Recs] BE Kuririn is Julien Daine, a Belgian DJ who started to get involved into music in his early teens. His first contact with electronic music was @ the age of 14 when he got interested in progressive & uplifting trance. He discovered Goatrance a bit later while he went to his first party in 2003. He was immediately hooked by this style and became more & more interested by those psychedelic sounds. After 1 year, he decided to buy some DJ equipment and started to collect some music. Since then he played at numerous parties in Belgium and abroad. His DJ sets can be filled with modern Goatrance or even old school stuff ranging from melodic to darker styles depending on the momentum. Since 2013 he is also co-manager of Goa Madness records with “Ephedra” and since 2017 he is also DJ'ing for Zion 604. For this showcase you can expect a lot of modern Goatrance including plenty of Goa Madness Goodies! Alex musical trip started around 1998 when he discovered electronic music. He began slowly to buy DJ equipment and started to play progressive trance for his own pleasure. After some years training with the decks he got interested in many others electronic styles like techno, house, electro and began to play in small student parties. After some time, he discovered Goa trance / psytrance while he was at a festival in Belgium. He was so impressed and directly felt in love... Some times later he began to play in small oldskool Goa parties and started to produce his own music. Soon after he had the opportunity to be a resident for the German party org “Tranceforce prod” and started to play live acts and DJ sets in Germany a few times a year. His first release « Acid rain » appeared on the compilation « Goa overdose 2 » (UAF recs) followed by many other releases on labels such as Suntrip records, Sita records, Ovnimoon recs & more. His first album "Journey through my head" was released in 2014 on Goa Madness Records, followed by 2 other albums. He already played in several countries such as: Israel, Brazil, Japan, Serbia, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Poland, Hungary, Germany, Switzerland, France, The Netherlands, Lebanon and of course Belgium... His style can best be described as melodic, euphoric and sometimes acidic Goatrance with a lot of different influences. Alex is also one of the label mangers of « Goa Madness records » For this showcase, Alex will present some tracks from his upcoming album "Another Place On Earth" that will be released this autumn blended with some of his classics! Well, besides being nightmarish monstrosities living on the dark side of the Dreamlands' moon, it's also the name of a collaboration project between Alexandre Cohen (that's Ephedra), and Jerome Lesterps (a.k.a Proxeeus), respectively from Belgium & France. They decided to join forces a couple of years ago, first by making a collaboration track (which ended up being featured on Ephedra's 3rd album), and when they were asked to perform a complete collaborative set in Portugal earlier in 2019, they decided to take things up a notch and transformed this into a full-blown music project. What's to expect then ? My, ya'll are a curious bunch. The general idea is to obviously make a blend of both styles, with Ephedra’s floaty, melodic side bringing some kind of balance to Proxeeus’ more aggressive sound, which should result in something greater than the sum of its parts. According to Proxeeus though, it’s simply a plot to prevent Ephedra from making fluffy stuff and to bring him to the Dark Side (because we’ve got cookies over there, yo). What’s the right answer, We’ll let you decide for yourself. Now, if you’re willing, we’ll shut up, and let the music speak for itself. Beastly yours, In This Showcase, Moon Beasts will present some of the new tracks from their upcoming releases! 7. Artist: Ephedra Title: What The Future Brings Label: Goa Madness Records Release: May 18, 2018 Tracklist: - 1. In Search Of Flying Saucers 2. Flying Into The Night 3. Twisted Keys 4. Machiavellin? 5. Savannah Monk Trail (Ephedra & Imba) 6. Cosmic Collaboration (Proxeeus & Ephedra) 7. Return To the N Life 8. Deep inside Feelings 9. Floating Souls Ok whats going with you bunch? Triquetra, Morphic Resonance, Sab Kuch, Lectro Spectral, Geomagnetic/Timewarp comps and the rest of the 2018 release gang (you're all great) and now Ephedra. You graduate from middle school? Finally got yourselves real jobs? Get yourselves married? Have a couple of kids? Cause 2018 has been a year of mature music. A year of well thought out, technical bangers that have got me hitting puberty. Now Ephedra comes in to bring to add a little extra flavour. To show that the big boys know when to hold back till just the right point, when to build but not explode, when to reserve their tracks to create anticipation, when to just make nice sounds and not stress about all the hooha. 2018 got us all grown up. In search of Flying Saucers - UFO's. mystery. space. aliens. New Mexico the home of the Roadrunner. The kick Is hot the leads are perfectly reserved coming in and out but never to insane. This is the patience Im talking about. A really really good track. Flying Into The Night - a little break beat introduces us into spacier and faster feeling track. The leads twirl and slice away in the back, being brought forward at perfect moments as the rest of the track balances out. The melody is infectious as its shot at you over and over again. The track is pure hyperspace listening material, put it on and before you know it you’ve reached galaxy NGC 7320 All Aboard Twisted Keys - we don’t slow down here, a short moody intro keeps the journey rolling. Little tribal drum taps in the background are beat out with the lightest of fingers before leads takes centre stage & zip us away. Once again Ephedra balances the elements and layers out with exquisite grace. Nothing in this song is monotoned & just as you think the frenzy has ended Ephedra takes it up a notch and finishes with some great knob fiddles. Machiavellian - Ah señor Niccolò, the espouser of the old greek and roman value systems as well as the man that had the personality trait of deceit, self interest and manipulation named after him. The only manipulation in this song is that of Ephedra’s tools over your brain. Ephedra darkens things up a bit while keeping a coherent flow throughout the song. A perfect track for workplace craftiness, backstabbing a trusted confidant and dancing in any dark location of your picking. Epehdra & Imba - Savannah Monk Trail - Love the choral vocals and the drums in the intro. Another cool baseline and kick combo then takes us off to a happier place where elastic leads extend in and out. More squelches, an elephant and tribal chants set this track apart from the others. Imba and Ephedra’s mojo works in fine balance with each other, proven as the track increases in intensity from start to finish. A fav Ephedra and Proxeeus, Cosmic Collaboration - I gotta say I was excited when I saw these two together on a track, even more so the the title suggested that these two came up with some sweet sweet hallucinogenic Himalayan Cliff Bee Mad honey for us all to sip on. They did, much more melodic than I expected while still completely psychedelic and of course totally banging, another welcome and successful combination of talent. Return to the N Life - A title that would also work well for an Ice Cube album, Return to the N life takes us back into the land of classic ephedra. Another mature track that despite not really standing out I would still play at any party, yea even my nephews 6th birthday party. Once again Ephedra shows a lot of skill with his instruments and thought in production. Deep Inside Feelings - Ephedra gets all sentimental and opens up his electrifying feelings to us. I love when he strips the baseline away, a metaphor for his struggle to balance an minimalist life with the pressure to succeed (I don’t know, sounds cool though). The song is hot hot hot but nothing prepares you for whats next. Floating souls - The closing track. What's it gonna be? Which way will he take this? Many questions and only one answer. Ecstasy. Ephedra takes us away from all earthly feelings and into a land of the beyond. I don’t know exactly what it is….Yes I do, the intensity, leads, melody, dreamy floatiness and all the other things that make Goa trance just so incredible. This goes up there with Experiments into some of my favourite Goa trance tracks of all time. That’s that, what I will call a perfectly balanced album. This is by far my favourite Ephedra album, the patience in the track development all the way to the actual track development really stand out here. It’s a skill that comes with experience and with 3 albums under his belt it seems like Ephedra is getting plenty of that. Like all good middle school graduations, Ephedra has matured his sound into something completely delightful for the ears. Big shout out to Goa Madness for their support of great artists and 3 big blasting Ephedra albums. https://goamadnessrecords.bandcamp.com

  13. VA - Floating Between The Moon & The Sun Goa Madness Records Tracklist: 1. Proxeeus - Ramayana (Original Mix) 2. M-Run - Sons Of The Temple 3. Artifact303 - In Your Mind (Nova Fractal Remix) 4. Trinodia - Distilled Illusions (2014 Edit) 5. GoaTree - Syslit Joint 6. Ephedra & Imba - Cosmic Harmony 7. JIS - Zero Gravity 8. Crossing Mind - Iridium Zone (2014) A pretty good compilation featuring a star-studded cast of who's who in today's goa world. It's almost a compilation of thirds - a third of these numbers are beautiful and warm, a third are groovy and off-beat, a third (obviously, one overlap so that the math works) are intense and true goa madness. Of the finest, I'll go with Ephedra & Imba's pairing on "Cosmic Harmony," a beauty of morning goa that offers up some unquestionably good keyboard melodies underneath the pumping, but tastefully measured, energy and effects. Perhaps a bit on the repetitive side as it gets deeper into its 10-minute run time, it will depend on how much you enjoy this one as to whether that repetition will become hypnotic. I happen to be entranced by it. As near as I can tell Crossing Mind's "Iridium Zone" is previously unreleased and it ranks as one of the better moments here. From the moment the momentum begins to slowly build, just a little under a minute in, there's no question this is a Crossing Mind track. The Frenchman has a very distinct flavor in his frequencies and this one has his signature sound all over it. I, personally, adore that style, his morning-time grooves in this one are excellent and it serves as a very tasteful conclusion to the collection. Proxeeus' subdued but charming "Ramayana" is a very good opener but, alas, there is just a little bit of magic missing that prevents it from being a truly great one. M-Run tap into some delightfully odd grooves with "Sons Of The Temple," a track that seemed to work better the second time around than it had on the first go. GoaTree's "Syslit Joint" is half dirty funk and half go-for-it goa madness, a real good package of sound. My least favorite here would be JIS on "Zero Gravity." The synth work is tuned to sound like it was lifted from an 80s rock band, so much that at any second it feels like "The Final Countdown" may creep into the melodies. Nova Fractal and Trinodia are bombastic and intense on their offerings, an overwhelming showcase of full-bodied goa performance, high-flying effects and euphoric levels that keep rising and aiming for the stars. Nova Fractal tackles a remix of Artifact303's "In Your Mind" with crazy good results. Trinodia is simply not fucking around on "Distilled Illusions," he does everything great that is expected when one hears his name, he packs in a ton of sound into a tight space and makes sure all of the levels have enough space to breath. This one is intense and overwhelming in the finest ways possible and when he shoots you out to the stars with his insane levels of effects it never becomes a nose-bleed affair, nothing that ever makes you feel beat up afterward, but instead makes you feel delirious, exhilarated, out-of-breath with the goodness of the journey. And that melody, so sweet but oh-so fucking tough... great track! "Floating Between The Moon & The Sun" is a bit of misnomer, perhaps, as this one is more on the energetic side, a bit more of flying at various speeds through the black matter of space, really. Still, it is a good collection, not groundbreaking stuff at all, but just about what you should expect by taking a quick peek at that very stacked group of producers printed on the tracklisting. http://www.goamadnessrecords.com/releases/

Next, M-run delivers his typical groovy beats & psycho sounds of which he alone knows the secret and Nova Fractal will smash you into space with his stellar remix of Artifact303: “In your mind”. The compilation then evolves with a very bouncy track from the Swedish master Trinodia followed by Goatree who brings a very melodic & acidic track with a Psytrance edge.
