  1. You should be. This album is not released yet that it is already unique. Can't wait !
  2. The Western world is the main responsible for this, but he's not the only one. There is a complex chain of responsibles that goes from the biggest powers down to the terrorist individuals. Beyond the Western governments and the terrorists themselves, you can also include tthe Muslim governments (not giving a shit to their countries : Khadafi, Bachar, Iraqi ministers, ...), the Muslim ethnics (they prefer to oppose each other and to save their own privileges rather than helping each other ; the Shia vs Sunna tensions helped the emergence of fanaticism), the global economic system (depriving many countries from legitimate money), the governments of Arabian Peninsula (who help the terrorists), the Western populations (latent racism push moderate individuals toward radicalism), and the Muslim ideologists such as the Wahabbis and the Salafists (who built up a backward ideology that led to the political philosophy of Daesh). Yes the western world is responsible. But not only. And those crazy bastards of ISIS weren't compelled to execute innocent people or to burn books. It's their free will that led them to do evil, even if there is a context. I really hope that the Middle East will survive this. If not, the whole world is in perish. This region is the heart of humanity. It's the craddle of agriculture, of the alphabet, of the 5 major monotheistic religions, and of modern science. It provides us with the main ressources sustaining our civilization : oil. Many ongoing tensions around the world come from this place (sionism and antisemtism, islamism and islamophobia, etc.). If the Middle East goes down, I'm afraid that we go down as well.
  3. This make me sick. Be them cursed. They want to destroy the world, to destroy its history, to destroy Islam, to kill everyone and to kill themselves. These people are of the Devil. ISIS is a satanic cult.
  4. There's definitely some Arronax in The Sphere. And The Journey sounds like a crossover of Proxeeus and Tavi. The Sphere and The Gate sound really appealling !
  5. My first trance experience, the swiss violonist Paul Giger : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvdZ_xPvhmo This guy made me enter the world of music, and even led me to Goa. Some melodic patterns and the rhythmic tone has a lot to do with actual Goa trance. There even are psychedelic, pagan and oriental elements in his music.
  6. I get it ! The four symbols stand for the four tracks ! Each one of them deliver clues, knowing that each of the tracks is made by a collaboration of two projects. Hence, track #2 is made by Lunar Dawn (the moon) + 1 other project, representented by the triangular shape. Now, here are the ressources at our disposal : the symbols of various NeoGoa projects : and the cover artworks with hidden clues inside them :
  7. From this year, if I only had one thing to remember, it's the debut album of Lectro Spektral Daze. It lacked some refinement, but it was certainly the most innovative piece of trance of the year.
  8. I second Ormion to say that Sky Input is one of the most powerful Goa album ever made. Never have I found anywhere else such melodic blasts.Except, perhaps, in Heliopolis. The sound of early Filteria is superior to 99% of the Goa ever produced. IMO, the only on that has attained such level is Khetzal. Furthermore, I disagree that Lost in the Wild is an "achievement" of Sky Input. Those albums can't be compared, as they explore different dimensions. Sky Input is solar. LITW is about night-time. One is adventurous, the other one is mysterious. One is exoteric, the other one is esoteric. However, it seems to me that LITW is more mature and more refined, even if the crazy blasting feeling is gone. It is, without a doubt, his best album so far. The energy is perfectly canalized, and it is a tapestry of details that can only be fully appreciated after many listenings. I had much pain to taste this last album. I needed months to enter it. And still today, I find it a bit difficult to listen to sometimes, but this album is more about subconsciouness and imaginarium. It is more intimate, and sounds like an inner music (compared to the other albums, who were more extravertive). Once you unleash your imagination, it's a monumental album. This was the right direction for the Filteria project.
  9. Plenty of good ideas in this track ! Also, there are some melodies that I've heard somewhere else, in some other tracks I can't remember : _the melody that starts at 02:07. Is it from Sanctuary of Stars ? _the disaster wave that starts at 02:59 (I love this one) : it's not the first time that I hear this one
  10. Hello people. As you might know, there is in Japan a discrete niche that Goa/psytrance occupy among the otaku culture. Psytrance is often used in anime and video game circles, as Japan have a rich tradition in terms of EDM inherited from the 90's (they keep alive the spirit of eurobeat, makina, goa trance, etc.) Hence, it is not surprizing that some Touhou (東方) circles have done some Goa arrangements for the OST of this famous series of video games. Here is the theme of Yoshika, a zombie girl that is one of the numerous characters featured in the Touhou universe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaw8WyORAZY There was two Goa arrangements for this theme. The first one is from Distant Phantasm. It's the most recent, and explore the phantomatic/sinister tone of the theme with a piece of experimental Goa that recalls a lot the spirit of the NeoGoa release Celestial Transvibrations. The sounds are raw, distorted, utterly psychedelic, and slightly nitzho-idal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCFyfSjnK9k Distortion waves at 05:17. The second one is from another circle called Sound Holic. It is a piece of euphoric Goa trance that include elements of full-on, eurodance and J-pop, but remains definitely 604. It makes me think in Omegahertz, in some way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_nNBxot4CQ I like the acid loops at 00:56. My question is : which of both do you prefer ?
  11. The symbol with the moon, though being used by yourself, Richpa, makes me think in Lunar Dawn. I think I've seen it used by them at some moment. The symbol with the three triangles appeared on top of the cover of Celestial Transvibrations. The symbol with a triangle, a circle and a number 3 in roman ciffers appear disasembled in the cover of Dimensional Gateway vol. 3, but I'm sure I have seen it asembled elsewhere.
  12. Travma - Tesla An unknown masterpiece. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWCWxAdYbkM
  13. OMG you're right !!! I don't understand. Even the shittiest psyprog doesn't match the worst genres of electronic music ! Anyone knows extratone ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RAYlykjQrw Delicious isn't it ? I also think in crap like horrorcore, and other offshoots of techno with corrosive sounds. And sincerly, if I had to choose betwenn generic psy and generic dubstep, I'd chosse generic psy. It's boring, but at least it's not harmful. Beyond EDM, there are so much crap in this world. I don't understand why psytrance appear to be the first result. PS : WTF man are you asking Google for disgusting music genres ?
  14. Of course man ! Keep making music bro, we need more Goa into this world. Actually, I often need time to get into one's universe. This week, I finally enjoyed Artha, after months of trying. I still haven't got the key to enter your realm. But I remembered that I liked Lunar Voyages II
  15. Christophe, my friend, let me tell you this : this is really cool. Khetzal : The legend is back ! Jikooha, Space Elves : OXI : newborn artist with promising skills. His sounds are a bit inexperienced, but I enjoy this guy's work. Maiia303, Imba : interesting Cactus Arising, Afgin, Somnesia : not my style of Goa (sorry mate ) but still cool That's out of matter, but OXI is one of the three artists that I discovered last year (with JIS and LSD) that I'm really looking forward. These guys have much potential.
  16. Not satisfied ? My answer : Journey Into Sound. Check 03:15 for melodic climax. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mafj76U1HSw&list=PLygWqO36YZG1pYtsFHHc1EAT8xnwA_0Ai Chek the rest of the album. Bonus : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pgpg05ownw Goa is alive and kicking. It attracts more and more people. It has almost passed away in the beginning of the 2000', but now it is fancy again. The newschool Goa scene is influenced by psytrance, but some artists keep producing a very pure style from the 90's. Regarding Yahel, I don't dislike his first 2 albums. The further releases are not my cup of tea.
  17. Hey man ! We have the same concerns as you do here. On Psynews.com, we are very attached to the most creative aspects of psytrance, and a lot of us love melodic psytrance and melodic goa trance. We defend a certain idea of psytrance, but today, most of the releases in the realm of psytrance are mediocre. The big names - Ace Ventura, Liquid Soul, Captain Hook - barely produce psytrance. The scene is dominated by noise-makers. A second issue is that psytrance rely on codes that can appear as osbscure from the newcomer. Certain forms of so-called "night-time" psytrance rely on rhythms and atmosphere to build musical patterns, and are, by essence, un-melodic. Raw, dark, twisted forms of trance avoid melodies in order to create sinister atmospheres. That's the case of twilight trance, zenonesque, dark psychedelic and forest trance. Now, know that there exists some kinds of psytrance that rely more on melodies. Melodic Goa Trance is the topmost of it. Basically, it is Goa Trance (i.e. organic psytrance > smoother than generic psytrance) with a more poetic feeling. This school provides delicate music, and can even evoke classical music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdbRvzCRKhM The melodies at 03:40 is an example. A more striking example is the orchestral blows given at 04:34. Another piece of Goa Trance that could be translated with classical instruments is this one : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gRlBkaDvQY Stéphane Bèze, the man behing the Crossing Mind Project, uses classical influences to build up Goa songs : https://soundcloud.com/crossing-mind/life-forms To finish, there is one Goa project that is generally very welcome by "normal Trance" people : Antares. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsN8zINFcWI
  18. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_8UbZV6LUY
  19. Definitely. Over the years, Hector is getting closer and closer to Goa.
  20. Hello people ! I've just browsed Youtube, and figured out less than 5 minutes ago that our friend Hector has released a new album ! Psyshop link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xf8f3-dP0Tw
  21. Subgenres are justified. Minimal is not zenonesque. Hi-Tech is not Psycore. Psydub is not Psychill. Psytrance is a vast and rich universe. I dont' know why you people complain.
  22. Its is more than a good mention, this project will rise high ! Mister Redko is not far from being a genius ! This young Siberian talent is absolute master, and all of his sounds are unique. Manifestor live : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eI6O90fEBNc Protonica has released some of the deepest stuff I've ever digged into. Refresh EP is a must-hear. However, their latest release was some disappointing, conventionnal prog-house. This is terrible. Some of these guys have talent, but since their colleagues are lazy fuckers who only produce the same repetitive "badabom badabom badabom vocal sample badabom badabom badabom triplet", they just drop their creativity and start applying the fucking same formulas OVER AND OVER AGAIN ! Egorythmia, E-Clip, Liquid Soul, Optiloop... don't deliver what they sould be delivering. But there is hope ! Goa Tech-Trance is rising, and artists such as John Fleming, the Digital Blonde, Manifestor, Splattered Implant and Suduaya deliver powerful melodic, atmospheric trance with either dark or psychedelic accents. On the other hand : Mindwave.
  23. Just a last one ! Astropilot - Memories Maze (Khetzal Remix)
  24. I also should mention Solano : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqPFlZrriXU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MtCgX9W_TE AND Tegma ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Tmzb4vhzd4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMvpyqt0tr4 AND 12 moons ! Available for free on Ektoplazm. Pure atmospheric prog.
