  1. Man, 2014/2015 sure are the years for tons of trouble ain't it. First arguments about cover arts, and now this. I'll just stay on the sideline.
  2. There's so much good stuff, it is so hard to pick one. But Waldorf Blofeld is a nice one.
  3. Started playing the touhou games, real addicting bullet hell games. This track is just great. Really caught my attention with the intro.
  4. Anyone have any experience with MPC1000 (in regards to goa/psy music but in general thoughts are good too). Heard a lot of good stuff on them.
  5. I find it that documentaries on instruments also give major insight into genres. If I can find it, I'll post the tb-303 and the a-men break documentary, though I'm quite sure you may be already familiar with it.
  6. I see them 106 pop up on craiglist and similar sites once in a while for a cheap price from 300-600 average. They are nice synths, but I personally would rather go for a Waldorf Blofeld (keyboard version). Real nice sound engine and heard that the keybed is real nice.
  7. Really? Didn't know about that. But I would be so pleased to hear a new album.
  8. Man dude, as always you have a way with words. Healing is definitely a great track. I haven't been listening much to recent J00F releases so I have a good amount of catching up to go through. Always nice to read your thoughts.
  9. Oh yea I definitely am sad about it too, but I am guessing that it was broken already. Either that, or he really hates fm synthesizers.
  10. Man, I just love this guy and like what was mentioned before, nearly all tracks are gold. Also not sure if anyone else has noticed but apparently he has a soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/human-blue Apparently he has made some recent stuff, haven't checked out if they are out anywhere yet though.
  11. Did some experimenting with a new sequencer vst I got (which is awesome by the way). The end result: https://soundcloud.com/deskoch/experiment-of-a23-first-take-live-recording
  12. Oh yea, the first time playing is hard but so much fun. I remember so many good moments where I was stuck at a boss for hours or days. Sen's Fortress was probably the worst spot for me, got lost there far too many times.
  13. Oh boy, if you have the game on pc you should try out the pure black run. It's pretty much New Game +7, Aggressive Mod (which changes how the enemies react, they can detect you from further range and they will kick your ass on ng+7), and the self-gravelording mod which adds red phantom enemies in the game which usually only appear if you get gravelorded by other players. Overall, it's tons of fun and frustration. Still haven't beaten it yet because the game got very glitchy when I tried to do co-oping to get help with the 4 kings. Here's a funny and good video series on the run:
  14. Perfect tutorial on how to make your synths all vintage:
  15. Yea completing tracks (even if they are complete garbage) really helps out. You learn what not to do (or at least how to do things better) and etc. It's something I should work on more. I've probably started well over a 100 ideas in the past year but only very few have I actually finished and even then majority of them aren't the best in my opinion. Just gotta work harder and harder.
  16. Man...this album is just pure gold. Not wanting to make any early claims, but definitely one of the best albums so far (and probably for the rest of the year).
  17. Man I love Mindsphere, his style is very nice. I really like how Patience for Heaven had both the new and his older album. You can listen for comparisons of his growth. Can't wait for future stuff from him.
  18. short random jam, far from perfect https://soundcloud.com/deskoch/summer-is-coming-live-recording-work-in-progress
  19. Eh, nothing wrong with older Tiesto and other folks, though I am more fan of Tiesto since he wasn't focused on the uplifting stuff.
  20. Yea that's one reason I would like to have the push/launchpad, it would my life much easier for selecting midi stuff. I've finally been focusing on a track after a long break that I really like a lot and can't wait to finish whenever I do. While I'm not done with it yet, it sort of reminds me of some of Moonweed's stuff. About that x0x....no, haha. It's my lovely baby, and ever since getting the Boss Super-Overdrive, I've been loving all the awesome distortions I get with. I've been experimenting more with the tone knob ever since since I've noticed some gnarly sounds when I put it on lower tones or when I program a pattern with higher notes then turn the tone to the lowest. Get's some really nice sounds. But for now, my plan is to save up money for a mixer. Being able to apply effects to all my synths and drums right away instead of having to record each individual part (which I've tried to do but I just dislike having to multi-track) would make life infinitely better as my vst effects are much better than the ones on the korg.
  21. Yea thanks. I feel like if I got a ableton push, novation launch pad, or you know those kind of stuff, then I would be a whole lot more interested in doing some midi on Ableton.
  22. I have done past tracks by recording live, I just can't seem to just sit down on a computer and do all the midi then record. I'm trying to fix that by at least recording the midi of my tracks and stuff like that since I have lost some past tracks and their information which sucks because I really wanted to work more on them. Plus recording the midi along with the audio will give me more flexibility to add some changes and editing which I can't always do while recording live. Here's a pic of my set-up. Very minimal but does the job well. What's not shown on here is the audio interface and some of the pedals I have.
  23. Very excited for this one. Glad to see him getting more and more attention.
