  1. "...In the valley of mood" is still available from psy-harmonics http://www.psy-harmonics.com.au/wipv3_6/pa...3770&db=Entries That`s au$ so it comes to 15€ shipped "Consciousness encoder", well good luck on that, Weird music society wasn`t that well distributed (or was it at all) over here. And yeah, phiLL rocks!
  2. I´m sure you can, only with a program you aren´t actually doing anything. The problem here with these "djaying is not a skill" etc... comments is the psy/goa "dj culture" which is nonexistant, sure today`s psy dj`s are technically all right, but the crossfadind jukeboxes of the dat era are still fresh in people`s minds. It comes down to personal preference whether a Hallucinogen "live" or a "Carol" Cox dj set sounds better but the skill in the "live set" is only evident in the songs themselves since there is little to no skill involved in playing music in such a way when compared to a dj doing it on the fly. *edit* And I`d say that 68th position is pretty high condisering what kind of a publication dj magazine is, it`s 98% "mainstream" house, techno and dnb.
  3. Some songs, yes. Mostly violin-driven very melancholy and ambientish, especially in the beginning but to the end we are treated to more gy!be -like vibes.
  4. Recently I`ve bought quite diverse music. Ominus - Ominus http://www.discogs.com/release/51557 Ildjarn - Minnesjord http://www.discogs.com/release/382636 *arse, forgot this one completely* The Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-la-la Band - Born Into Trouble As The Sparks Fly Upward http://www.discogs.com/release/130617
  5. Yeah it`s a decent track, I have the "Ali Pusha" EP around here somewhere.
  6. I really have no idea how unknown these are in the big picture, yet I`ve seldom seen these artists\projects mentioned, atleast here that is. I`ll also include ep`s as well Ominus - Ominus Rip Van Hippy - When Bernie Was a Tree Orion - Futuristic poetry Rhythmystec - Cathexis & Plasmatik Ep`s / Snake Thing`s stuff also.
  7. Here´s mine http://www.discogs.com/user/Late_ ^Haven`t listed but a fraction of the 12"`s and forgot about cd`s and non-goa altogether I`ll update it when I have more free time, but add it to the list nonetheless.
  8. Yeah, the earlier squaremeat and o*men stuff i`ve heard was clearly in the goa vein, but I hadn`t heard these other collaborations so I wasn`t sure what to expect, anyways some good songs on this one. peace, Late I bought it from Lightaman.Jr pm him, dunno if it applies to Finland only tho and he said he has a limited supply
  9. Yea, James Reipas play live so that they have the "backbone" of the songs pre-recorded but on top of that they have a live band (gtr, bass, percussionists, drums, flutes & assorted whirlygigs) which play and jam to the tunes, good show imo.
  10. Got this yesterday and It`s growing on me. I`d say this is goa with a finnish twist, not your "regular" suomisaundi, very danceable no-nonsense music I`ll try to get a full review done later.
  11. Best : AB Didgeridoo oblivion. This guy is basically a one man band, he sits in a chair, has a didgie taped so that it stays in place without hands, a small set of electric drums on his lap (the ones that look like airline food trays) and some effect pedals etc... gear, brilliant! Worst : Hallucinogen. Everything he played was on one dvd, his performance was basically just opening/closing channels on a big-ass mackie desk. A lot of synths etc were lent from various persons for use as "props" on the stage + the set itself was a potpourri of songs from the two albums. later on I downloaded a live set of his frmo some other place and it sounded almost identical.
  12. Dude, sms me your account# so I can pay you for this one.
  13. The only prog trance that I`ve wholly liked is Shiva Chandra - Spicy Moments Oh and some of the Auricular songs are gold, too.
  14. Hmm, Here I am nursing my hangover with a few brews and this topic has degenerated into a flamewar. Someone in this topic said that the krishna music is the "real" thing, while in effect it is no more real than other philosophically/religiously skewed music, yes? "Sometimes I am right and I can be wrong, my own beliefs are in my song" I for one do not adhere in any way with the hare krishna, hence the remark. As to the flamewar at hand, this radi character is an obvious troll, yet you banned cinos for his little immature "black metal" view on life? I´d use a smiley but this forum forces these lame looking .gif ones. np: Dj Shadow - Stem / Long stem *ninja edit* Some people cannot provide sound clips etc.. because they are a) lazy B ) lack hosting\webspace c) not computer literate enough Anyone who wants to download said album, try soulseek

    V/A - Mesmerize` em

I really don`t know, I bought it off one of the James Reipas guys, and he only had a few to sell himself. You could try asking him, you have an accout on elixiria.com? atleast I`ve seen some reece post there so pm Öljysika about this record he might know more.
  16. I have "Rising Sign" , bought it off some monk ages ago. It´s decent, like Lemmi, I don`t like "religious" music as such, but the not so krishna intensive tracks are nice.
  17. Radio Helsinki, with its typical mix of hip-hop, reggae, rock and indie pop. Good soundtrack for this +30C weather
  18. How rude of me, I forgot entirely. Thanks Mr.Jikkenteki for the cd´s, both are very enjoyable. I`ll try to get full reviews done as soon as possible
  19. Interesting, I`ll check it out for sure, had no idea they were releasing something. cool 8)

    V/A - Mesmerize` em

Träcklist : 1. The Nam Shub of Enki - Cat's Black, Night's Silver Hallide 2. Antediluvian Rocking Horse - Critical Twig pt.9 3. James Reipas & Polyphonic Stellar Juice - Rebekka 4. Scozbor - Bearded Bravery 5. Psilodump - Sell Your Brains 6. Trio Tetris - Malluainen 7. James Reipas & Polyphonic Stellar Juice - Zakopane 8. Scozbor - Denial Sausage Here we have a new label hailing from The Ukraine with a fresh looking compilation, which features artists, who, no matter what your musical preferences are, cannot be accused of repeating the same formula endlessly. The styles are diverse, everything from downtempo material to furious drum and bass -esque songs. 1. The Nam Shub of Enki - Cat's Black, Night's Silver Hallide Ambientish, more caustic than his previous outings, driven by slow pitch shifted breakbeats, almost Autechre -like at times. On further listening almost like the Enki of old, especially when compared to the more "straight up" MONSTER ZOKU ONSOMB songs. 2. Antediluvian Rocking Horse - Critical Twig pt.9 More Oz goodness, these veterans give us a chilled downtempo number, in the spirit of "Fast forward into the furniture". A plucked bass, silver flute and guitar loop over indie hip-hop drumwork. Like Dj Shadow decides to kick it, electro style on a sunny day. This is the kind of stuff that I`d enjoy hearing in "chill-out" areas at parties, instead of the fake ethnic crap or electronic dub. 3. James Reipas & Polyphonic Stellar Juice - Rebekka Suomisaundi bassline and twirling synths over samba-flavored, righteous miami vice percussion and jazzy keyboards, makes me wanna dance. This one gives off a indescribable "Something wonderful is just around the corner" -feeling. As Reipas songs go, this one represents a fusion between styles portrayed on their two albums. 4. Scozbor - Bearded Bravery Midtempo breakbeats, Chemical Brothers meets Photek in his "Modus Operandi" prime. Flangered wraiths wail deep in the background. Clever complementary /commentary melodies play off each other in an almost jamming way. Rock and roll. 5. Psilodump - Sell Your Brains Starts off with a sped up ragga sample. Stomping, this is almost jungle. Electro-tinged melodies and lazer keyboard stabs keep things interesting, one for the dancefloor, the cunning bassline pastes an evil grin on my face and it won`t come off, music for sharpening knives in the dark. 6. Trio Tetris - Malluainen I love my India! Wailing melodies give way to fierce rhythms, this is progressive rock in a late 60`s - early 70`s style, in the spirit of Jukka Tolonen, Sukellusvene, etc.. only here manifesting in elecktrick form. My personal fave from this compilation. I haven`t heard much Trio Tetris before, but I definitely hunt down more. 7. James Reipas & Polyphonic Stellar Juice - Zakopane Melancholy lead, reminds me of "Popcorn" , strong c64 and synthpop influences, very good. A morning one, this. Dew on the grass, you know the score. 8. Scozbor - Denial Sausage Starts off like an evil hip-hop track, a xylophone takes the lead backed up by glitchy drums. Kinda like early Aphex Twin. halfway through we are treated to easier vibes, an Alberto balsam moment, pastiche even? Very good, guaranteeded to keep your brain entertained 8+/10
  21. I´ve bought plenty of demon tea records
  22. Quoted for truth. The consensus on this site is to moan endlessly about the deplorable state of current releases, when I reality nobody forces you to buy them or go to parties where such music is played. Dunno about the state of parties in the rest of the world, and I havent been to one in close to two years over here in finland, but looking at line-ups etc... I don´t say that people here follow any "trends" that closely.
