  1. Late

    your taste

I like the Australian & Finnish & Japanese & Global playful and slightly crazy sound. Also old goa and (pssst) some progressive (shiva chandra/auricular & some of the earlier iboga recs releases)
  2. Hmmm. why apologize, why shouldn`t you state your opinion or like something that you actually don`t like, out of consensus, on a frigging internet forum? I also don´t find shpongle to be anything special, the 1st album was a way-above-average "chilly" album, with one classic track "And the day turned..." The 2nd album was a huge disappointment, mainly because of the copy & paste "world music" -feeling. "remixed" I haven`t heard, no really interested, except the Brothom States remix, because he (Lassi Nikko, not Posford & The Tip geezer) rocks. On the whole I dislike all kinds of fanboys/girls, and this shpongle is something that seems to attract these. Perhaps that´s why you started with the "I don`t wanna" pax.
  3. Hi, Are Rhythmystec`s "Cathexis" & "Plasmatik" EP`s rare/hard to find, and how much you reckon that I`d have to suffer for them? Vital releases imo.
  4. Aye. I`ll recommend something different. Here`s some kick ass artists (off the top of my head)that you should definitely check out. (not classic goatrance, for that there are n people here, who mostly rave about the same albums j/k) Antediluvian Rocking Horse Loopus In Fabula Benza The Nam Shub Of Enki/Spaztech/Monster Zoku Onsomb!/Croxton PK Raver, etc Texas Faggott Haltya Weird Alchemy James Reipas / Lola Gain Shaolin Wooden Men Exotic Matter/Rythmystec/Masaray (And other Ray Castle workz/collabs) Ree K Lumukanda Yamabikaya Rip Van Hippy ...etc Trust me, give it a chance, I`m so bewildered by the fact that this type of music is so marginally, if at all, represented here, is it just that there are no lovers of this kind of sound here or what?
  5. Hmm. I have the entire dark side of the moon "remixed", which is credited to Hallucinogen, but then again it can be a soulseek thing :Z p.S if you are the same shpongled as in the elixiria forums, thanks for the v/a -elucidations.
  6. Tracklist: Arigataya (version) Diji Ghost Dancers (don`t step on the diamonds) Morning Song New Hanabi Down Underground Beelzebubba Tengu Moon Eiji Rocks Out Arigataya (Vocal) So, I rode the winds of change and managed to find a copy in a Helsinki recordstore :Z Seriously speaking, what a coincidence, thinking that only 500 copies were made, or perhaps it`s an example of synchronity at work, j/k. The debut release from Creative Space, which rose from the ashes of Devic craft. The album portrays a wide variety of styles from so called "chill-out" to medium tempo, breakbeatish dancefloor material, Geoffery Hales aka Rip Van Hippy is doing the programming and Eji plays electric guitar. To be honest, most of the more chilled songs seem to be quite forgettable, but there are a couple of gems in there : "Dji" is a dreamy, bit housey track w/ strange ghost-like japanese-language female vocals, a bit reminescent of Benza`s work. Would fit like a charm in a more eclectic morning set "Morning song", released earlier on psy-harmonics` "Iconic" compilation, is a surefire killer, a breakbeat tune with a strong leading guitar riff pitched up a little. This would work like a charm on an openmided dancefloor. "Beelzebubba" is progressive rock Rip van Hippy style, kinda reminds me of his latest album (can I hear some of the same sounds in there ). "Tengu Moon" the title tune is lopsidedly twisted, midtempo 4/4 and intensive, would fit well in a warmup set. Think Aumphibian with a more melodic twist and you are there And Finally we have "Eiji Rocks Out" , symphonic, kinda Kingston Wall -esque, a massive "wall of sound" Anyway, a refreshing title, it has characterl, not really trance, goa, fullon, mini, prog or anything silly like that, but a thing unto itself. The guitar fits the songs well, none of that, "let`s play power chords over trance" -thing. like I already stated, most of the chilly songs are kinda boring but the rest of the album more than makes up for them 8 1/2 out of 10 over & out.
  7. Augh. Around 180-190 vinyl 45 cd:s
  8. "The worst problem... The worst problem is, that I don`t have any focal point in life anymore. There`s nothing to hold on to anymore!"
  9. Mine has to be : Mandalavandalz ~ 1995 "Pahin ongelma... Pahin ongelma on se, et mul ei oo enää mitään kiintopaikkaa elämässä. Mä en saa enää mistään kiinni!" roffles Also Lumukanda ~ Wa Wa Wookie (A woman in a "bimbo" tone of voice) "Oh my, it`s so goddamn psychedelic"
  10. Here`s the buddhist at work :Z Edit: On topiC this time. You might want to stay away from all of this "psychedelic" dub etc. It is pure trash. European pot smokers raping dub. Take at look at King Tubby, Jackie Mittoo, Yabby you, Roots Control (Very good contemporary dub) and of course Lee "Scratch" Perry. otherwise quite off the wall material. Amon Tobin (and all ov ninja tune´s back catalogue) Aesop Rock, MF Doom (hiphop, but don`t let that put you away) Brothom States (Also dive into Warp`s back catalogue)
  11. Hmmm. I wager that GANGSTA TRANCE will globally dominate the universe within a matter ov months. > kill the genres and gas the purists.
  12. Newsflash. Astral projection were total shit back in the day, and even moreso today. Why should you revere something that you find utterly boring and formulaic, because it has been around for a long time??? I didn`t like them in 1996 and I still don`t like them. And, those "seal your lips" -kind of comments are very lame, this is music, which afterall is a matter of taste. Your melodic goa or whatever has no more inherent value than e.g a britney spears` song. Especially coming from a spanish guy who calls himself "Amithaba Buddha" , that`s food for thought, really. wow.
  13. Yo Staffan. Divinorum is Norwegian, He makes goa with a Amiga500 kicks ass.
  14. And do wait for the redeeming qualities of the next shpongle album rotfl.
  15. lmao. This thread just reminded me why this is such a lame board. ppl getting their panties in a knot over nothing. Do you really think that there is any sort of inherent value in your (not my) psy-trance when compared to britney, etc? <3 get over yourselves <3
  16. congratulations, all of the above are rubbish.
  17. Is Unconscious Collective´s "Fluorostan Ep" hard to get/rare, how much would I have suffer for it? I`m a bedroom dj (oldschool mainly) and this ep is one of the definitive goa records IMO, and I`ve aquired a craving for it.

  20. I think that you should go and listen to more Bamboo Forest or Talpa, as they happen to be making some pretty fine music.

  22. Hi, as a Finn, I`d say that the majority of goaparties are held in Helsinki (atleast the ones held @ a restaurant, nightclub, etc.) but then the smaller more private parties are held at various cabins, etc in neighbouring counties. As chris already said, try elixiria.com, even though it´s mostly in finnish, everybody can speak english.
