I am currently in the middle of David Mitchell - The Bone Clocks This is the type of book that is dangerous for me. If I really get into a book, I will be thinking about it when I am not reading it. I will choose it over other distractions like games, Reddit, Psynews and doom scrolling. If I really don't like a book, I will just give up on it and start something else. My reading problem is when I get something in between: a book that's not bad enough to quit, but not good enough to be my first choice of entertainment. The Bone Clocks is proving to be just that. It has enough in it that I am sure that it is leading somewhere, and will be good read, but I am just not connecting with the characters, the ideas, and the writing just does not draw me in, so I am left wanting to get through it as I am sure it is leading somewhere interesting but I just have no urgency to pick it up as it's just a bit crappily written, I don't care about the characters (YET?) their motivation or fates so when doomscrolling, tsum tsum or football game threads are a thing, what is there to make me want to go back to this story?

Atmos has some very good tracks, Klein Aber Doctor, that came a year after this album, was a defining track in the Progressive Psytrance genre, and I came to this album after hearing that plus other compilation tracks on Flying Rhino records and honestly at first I didn't get this album; there isn't a hook in these tracks like Klein Aber Doctor has, so the tracks are not as instantly gratifying, and I can understand the opinions of those early reviewers who clearly had just not given this album the attention it deserves. This is not a casual listening album, it's an album to put on your best headphones, close your eyes, turn of your distractions and give it a proper listen. If you can give it the attention it deserves, you'll love it. It's definitely a Psytrance album for the ambient lover

26 years on and this is still given a lot of air time over in Casa De Abasio. I absolutely love this and I will stand by my advice from....checks the date...17 effing years ago 😲 That listening to The Mystery Of The Yeti, then the Mystery of the Yeti Part II, the The Infinity Project - Mystical Experiences is a fantastic experience that everyone should do.

While I love all of Hallucinogen's up tempo work, the best track for me is "The Herb Garden" It is one of my most listened to tracks over the years and one of the highlights from the Mystery of the Yeti duology

Jaia - Fiction I was always disappointed with this album as it was so different from Blue Energy, but over the years, as my audio set up has improved I have come to appreciate it a lot more. Lots of little details in every track, nice rhythms, and very psychedelic. My never ending mission is to re-listen to all the albums I was unimpressed with before I got better headphones/speakers

I am quite amazed that there are only 7 posts (8 now) on this compilation. This is such an amazing compilation from such and great label at the height of amazing GOA and only 7 people have bothered about it? Not sure if people haven't heard this, or are just too shy to comment on it, but come one, this is an absolute classic. Why are not more people talking about it?

Listening again to this album now and it is amazing. The melodies just hit the spot every time. My favourite is still Mai Mai and it's one of those tracks tha lives on in the memory and demands a re-listen every now and then.

+9 years later and this is still one of my most listened to compilations. It just hits the right spot when I want something between Goa and Prog. Brilliant throughout.

Very strong compilation, I have this as Dragonfly Classix and every track is great. Some really overdone tracks (still great) and some underrated classics. No duds, just a few tracks that aren't as stellar as the stand out ones. Overall a must listen for anyone getting into the genre.

So we agree the MDR‑E868 existed—good to have that settled at least. I’ll leave the “red vs green soundscapes” debate to you. Enjoy your gear and take care.

Another album that I feel still sounds really good today. May not be in as heavy rotation as it was 20 years ago, but it still gets some love

Eat Static - Prana & Hallucinogen - Solstice are a couple of favourites for me 😂 I like everything on this, it's a good classic compilation. Genetic - Trancemission is always a winner
