  1. So we're all agreed upon that females do enjoy the music they do enjoy the vibe and they're most certainly a very big part of the scene. So why aren't they here on psynews? It's like asking what the meaning of life is... you only get a number...
  2. @Starkraver: interstatefm doesn't have any females at all, OK we have Murphy303s girl Hana posting a "Hi" in the shoutbox and now also Shruti (spelling?). But they're more of a recruited audience because their male counterparts are devoted listeners/streamers. Do they count?
  3. I agree with Rotwang here. This is not a problem that is contained only to _this_ forum but is more of a widespread throughout the internet. Also it doesn't go only one way as there certainly must be areas which are dominated by females. Also, is this a "problem" per se? We do things because we like to do it, we don't do things we dislike. Nobody is suppose to force a person, of whatever gender, into doing things we don't want to do. I also do agree with Anu that we generally need to challenge our views daily and need to be brave enough to venture outside our comfort zone. She points a finger to the females to venture into unexplored territories in this case psynews. What do you know before you try, maybe you might find something to like on psynews as a female. Also this goes for the males here, we might need to start trying out the female dominated areas of the internet? Then this turns into a cooperative venture to explore humanity in its entirety... What's so "female" about My Little Pony? What's so "male" about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Were these marketed to a particular audience? Why shouldn't "males" watch My Little Pony? Why shouldn't "females" watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? I don't know? I don't get it at all. People _want_ to box you in, staple you with post it notes and in general build themselves a complete but inaccurate picture of the person in question. I fight this prejudice daily with myself, telling myself to freakin' be open to all opinions and views and not to sort people into categories because then I wouldn't learn anything and I wouldn't grow as human either. Essentially, when I start to categorise the people around me I indirectly isolate myself from the outside world.
  4. Am I making any sense at all here? Probably not.
  5. The picture I've gotten is that females are generally more suceptible to the vibe/party as a whole more than the music niche we have here. Is psynews "interesting" enough for the whole spectrum of humanity? Is psynews female unfriendly due to being littered with males? Is psynews simply defective in certain areas of the scene that is being heavily perused by females? Females are most certainly active in this scene and they do indeed like the music. But in a very different context as to how we approach it here on psynews. Is psynews simply an old dusty mouldy way of communication? Like, we have facebook now, twitter, smartphones and skype, whatever I don't know I have neither... I do have a "smartphone" though. Why the fuck would anyone go back to a 15+ year old forum? Should we males here get a life? To me these topics just makes me confused and my view, which is fueled by my own utter stupidity and ignorance, of the world around me certainly just closes in and hits me bang on and knocks me out.

  7. My question remains... what is the _I_ behind the consciousness? If we could answer that maybe we could answer what happens in "death".
  8. I've been meaning to answer to this topic for a very long time and it has always been pushed back due to philosophical reasons. By death it is very simple, your synapses ceases to relay electronic impulses in your brain and to the rest of the body and thusly all that which was combined to make a human being simply dies off and is recollected into the surrounding area. The problem is coming quite sharply into perspective when we ask ourselves (why can we even do that?) where _we_ go. What the fuck happens to _me_. Yeah, the consciousness is there to keep the creature alive but behind that consciousness is something that calls itself _I_. That _I_ is unique in every single being that exists at the moment. That I as an individual suddenly started to exist (and that I got the opportunity to exist) in such a vast universe is so extremely unlikely yet it still has happend! There could've been an almost infinite number of different _I_s residing behind the consciousness of which I possess right now, but for some reason I got the winning ticket. I don't know what happens after death because I don't know what the hell the _I_ is behind my consciousness. Oh well...

  15. If typing makes you feel better, absolutely keep at it. Even if it maybe doesn't make any sense or is incoherent it serves a purpose of giving respite (however little or much) from anxiety which is indeed what your struggling to accomplish. I've got a bit of rough mental state (though greatly humbled by the stories above), I was direly close to straight up depression just a year ago which of course I never realized myself because I was drinking my ass completely out of anything resembling common sense. I'm still trying to find a level playing field but there's like all these weird situations just rebounding all around. I don't know... sometimes life is just plain difficult and the only solution, for me at least, is to do one thing at a time and that slowly without any stress or deadlines.
  16. Tony Gonzales - The Tabit Genesis it seems to be short "space opera"... hmmm.
  17. I read all of it and I really know at this particular moment I'm of no help at all, but... just saying. I've learned how to live with tinnitus, I hardly realize I have it. Anxiety though is a gut instinct feeling that plays into life more emphatically... obviously you feel a need to actually talk (or post) about it. Does it help? Good to see you again, btw!
  18. That one is really really good and to answer your question from the interstatefm Ankur, I have played just this track. It features in my 4 hour vinyl only goa/psy mix I did awhile ago, you got it on the USB I sent.
