  1. usually it makes more sense to continue a flow in a set than to change from relaxt progressive to driving fullon or twisted dark stuff and back to psybreaks. Besides that alot of progressive is around 135 bpm and if you would like to mix that with a fullon track of 147.. it doesnt sound very well. But off course it could be done to find different sounding tracks with similar bpm. but thats thinking outside the box and very very dangerous!
  2. lovely jubly keep going and post us the finished track!!!
  3. how about ambient releases? how many cd's does ultimae f.e. sell? entheogenic? etc i would say less.. but then again maybe they can also find some consumers in the new age and lounge territories. any idea?
  4. 10 days.. antaris -->fullmoon festival --> voov did that twice.. was fun!
  5. same here.. no cases. i prefer with cases.. but hey. can t really argue with those prices.. although i would prefer a bigger catalogue =)
  6. and how about the ambient releases? do they also sell 1000 each?
  7. no.. not per cd.. in total.. lets say this year there is a 100 psytrance cd's sold in those shops. 25 are sold by psyshop, 25 by saiko etc..
  8. soo.. interesting question here.. what online shops do we actually have and what part of the total sales do they get ? opinions facts etc.. we got (lets make a total list here of shops selling over 20 labels; i ll edit this post to keep it organised): www.psyshop.com www.saikosounds.com www.beatport.com www.trance-shop.com/ www.psysale.com i think personally psyshop and saikosounds are the biggest. Taking maybe even 25 % each. but thats just guessing bring on those 2cents each!
  9. for at home: go for the cdj 100's and a crappy mixer with the necessary knobs: 3 band eq, gain, individual channel posibility for headphone and off course a mic for ya mc-in' in my experience any cheap mixer that does those tricks will be good enough to practise with. bigger and better will be good off course but not necesarry for the first steps of mixing. But going for something else than the pioneers i wouldnt recommend. Although i have played with some good denons (quite new) a while ago, but i cant remember what they are called (one of those stupid dual systems).
  10. making a killar baseline is really difficult.. not everybody can do it.. you would have to copy the whole bassline tutorial from isratrance.com
  11. oh my.. some of you have a horrible taste in music
  12. i think the hypersonic would be the worst release .. or is it allready 2005? edit: oops 2005.. i ll find some 06 later.. but anyway... it was soooo bad that it should be nominated again...
  13. you could say exactly the same for the offbeat bass in alot of prog or the fact that alot of techno use the bass of a kick.. Go find another bass. but i guess they wont because they and loads of people arent fed up with it yet. i personally really like it. it gives the effect of sitting in a rapid. its a good energizer for dancing. but yes i agree they could go find another bass. and there are.. so dont let those copycats ruin your day.. focus on the positive
  14. its just a matter of taste.. and yes it works good on the dancefloor..
  15. did we not forget cosma some where along the line? i mean his first album was kick ass.. but his second was brilliant.. and the third one.. oh man.. we can only guess... *reminds himself to play cosma- non stop next gig soooo 2003 = cosma.. anyone disagree?
  16. listening now... not bad! some nice sounds going on. the first arpegiatorstyle synth could do with a bit more diversity imho. the sounds blend in nicely, take the lead every now and then or fade away for a bit... overall the songs is pretty well built up imo, but it doesnt grab me yet. the sounds seem to be a little flat, not enough emotion in them to grab me. good luck with the next tracks
  17. the scale starting at 6 doesnt make much sense to me.. why start at 6? and end at 10? 1-10 makes more sense imho. or 1-5.. so i guess people should mention their scale as well now in the reviews.. or should we adopt just one scale for psynews? that would be the easy option.. i that case i vote for the 1-10
  18. oh ... and to stay on topic.. does anyone care to make a summary of the results?
  19. i thought the same actually.. just listened to it.. omg what a boring album.. thats the reason why i didnt like progressive at first. i dont hope its going back in that direction..
  20. dialogue is boring.. been there done that etc.. tribal drift.. that one is an oldie!!! i guess i still have it on tape somewhere. didgeridoo trance.. not sure if it fits snapinho.. and def not sure if its still possible to find on cd... wasnt on my top list of oldies btw..
  21. i dont think they ll come with a new release on boom.. since boom is pretty inactive at the moment.. maybe some ozzie label.. would be interesting to see what they are upto since they were releasing some good fullon in tha dayzz... i wonder if i still like there style now..
  22. haha seems like the experts are quite finished with this puzzle yet.. some very good propositions here.. but i dont think derango should have a whole year.. 'dark' psy yes.. but not one artist if i am concerned
  23. hmm maybe some 125 bpm jaia comes close.. but i guess he is asking for stuff outside the psychill and psytrance boxes.. minimal, funky breaks, technoish, maybe even housy, triphoppy etc.. anything but the usual suspect of psy-xxx
